I need people's advice on a constant issue that myself and others in the building I work in every day face which often ends in near crashes.

I work in the building in the very bottom right shown in the google maps link and the only way out is the junction in the middle of the screen. I turn left at the junction every day when I leave.
Now the problem we have is the people coming out of the industrial estate, directly opposite, turn right (the drivers right) so are cutting across the traffic.
Basically as soon as the traffic lights change to green they fly across and are 'competing' with me to join the same line of traffic.
My argument is as they are cutting across the traffic then surely it's my right of way and they should only turn when the turn is clear.
If I'm correct, they certainly disagree and shout, swear, beep the horn and the final straw for me tonight was at the next roundabout got out of his van to make his feelings known. I got out, as a precaution, and he started shouting that it was his right of way.
The question is therefore, have I totally misinterpreted the highway code or is it my right of way?
