Hi Guys

I carry my D60 everywhere with me, I have always wanted a D700, but it weighs a kilo! so who carrys a camera with them every day and how much does it weigh?

Cheers Stuart

Yup. Either my full kit in the car or if walking, just a D3 + either 35mm f/2 or 24-85 f/2.8 tucked in a non-photo backpack/bag.

99% of the time I have a small compact with me, which I have used to capture some great unexpected shots over the years.

i sling my toy over my shoulder if we go out on a walk or in the car to a anticipated photograph situation

i used to carry cameras all the time and was usually recognised by the sports bag slung over my shoulder with my nikons and lenses carefully branded as joe blogs cheapy sports equipment..i kept some stuff in empty icecream tubs in the bag...

eventually i got a billingham wannabe bag and crammed even more into it

now i travel light and downsized sensored

It's rare that the camera is not on the bed beside me ready to go.

No way. Only take it with me when I am going out to do street photography. Only take it to work if I want to specifically photograph something I've noticed.

Not every day, but certainly when I'm meeting up with mates.

Funny thing is, they always take the p*** at the time, yet are then always keen to get full res copies of pics of their kids that I've taken from me afterwards?

My photography is 100% planned but my phone is a pretty good back up.

I carry a D300, 18-200, 105, SB600 and a few other bits in a peli case at work all the time and then the D700 on days off :)

No point carting it all to work and back everyday, the office ain't that exciting! Take it occasionally if it looks like it'll be a nice sunset as there's some good views around.

It's generally with me at weekends, everyone kind of expects me to turn up with it now!

I only carry it if I think I may take a photo or two. So quite often at weekends, but rarely mid week, unless I specifically go out to take a photo.

Used to till I no longer have a parcel shelf... pretty much the majority of my work is shot using hipstamatic app on the iphone ;)

I wish I could. :(

Not got my own car so it'd be difficult and I find myself in so many places wishing I'd had my camera with me. Just this past week, I had opportunities to photograph Baker Street, Regent's Park and a wonderful scene off the M1.

Mine's too bloody heavy to carry around everywhere, and there's really no need. It comes out of the bag when it needs to. :nono:

Shame on me, I carry a point & shoot, mostly.
DSLR for more serious photography.

I always carry my compact , and my olympus with extra lens i take a lot of the time .:)

I don't use my camera for work so I don't carry anything with me during the day other than travelcard, credit card, door keys and mobile.

If I see a setting I like I will take a test shot on my C902 and go back the next day with my 500D.

Interesting thread, I'm surprised how many people carry kit with them.

Mainly carry either my TZ7 or G11, the 40D's just too bulky & heavy on days out, & the IQ's very good on both compacts, rarely use the 40D these days :)

I'll quite often chuck my backpack of kit in the van when I'm off to work. Unless it's for a project I'll only get it out 25% of the time though.

My D60 with at least 18-105 and nissin di622 live in the boot of my car. Take the s5 pro or d90 if I want to get serious!

Thought about a compact but dont like the IQ and in any event the D60 isnt that much bigger as to cause a problem!

D300's and either the 17-55mm f2.8 or the 35mm f1.8, carried in a Lowepro Toploader 50, plus my spudz cloth, spare battery and polarizer.

If I'm going anywhere 'toggy' I'll also take my SB600, 70-300Vr and/or 10-20mm in a Kata backpack.

Just bought the wife a Panasonic LX5, so judging by inital impressions, that might be the take everywhere camera from now on. If she'll let me near it

I'm quite amazed at so many people carry their kit with them all the time! Nonetheless I just carry my lx3 with me most of the time.

I was carrying about the D700 + Nikon 24-70 yesterday for about 5 hours and that was long enough for me. I'd probably get something like the Canon S95 if I wanted to carry a camera about on a daily basis.

iPhone goes everywhere. DSLR as required.

I did start taking my dslr to work, as I get to go to some remote parts of East anglia, but in the end I found work was getting in the way of my photography, or is it the other way round ;)

when I'll have my rollei compact I'll take it everywhere as there is always something extraordinary happening in those streets .

D2Hs with the 17-55mm practically lives in the car...just in case.
