Which TP photo really sticks in your mind?

I have been a member of this site for quite a long time now and was just looking back through some of my old photos. I then started thinking about photos I have seen on this site over the last 4 or 5 years and how some really stick in the mind.

What photo that you have seen in talkphotography (ideally a while ago) do you vividly remember? Maybe if you describe it, we could try and dig up the original thread?

For me it is a series by Diego where he photographed some junkies shooting up. It was a disturbing series, fantastically converted to B&W and made you feel voyeuristic but, at the same time involved with the subjects. Photography at its best IMHO.
 
I can't remember who posted them, but it was someone's shots from Elgol (is that how you spell it?) on Skye. Long exposure sunsets, swirly water, really vivid colours.... I'll have a look and see if I can find the threads.

I'm not that into the hard hitting stuff, I just like pretty sunsets :lol:

Edit: Found it! I tell you though, if any TP-er is at a loss of something to do, just do a search for 'Elgol', the place looks incredible, and a lot of people have taken some really good shots :thumbs:

It was a shot of a jet fighter, possibly an F-15 and possibly through the Loop. I've no idea who shot it though.

I'd have said Diego's junkies. I really enjoyed his really early street stuff tbh.
 
Pete - thanks for citing my photo. It certainly was a change giver in that it went to a couple of broad sheets, got me a shoot with the Big Issue on street portrait in the style I was shooting back in 2006. The paradox is that I have snot nothing decent since ! :lol:

And I remembered it as b&w, I wonder why?

As for having shoot nohing decent since I think we all know that isn't true..
 
thats pretty full on stuff Diego. i m intrigued as to how you managed to get the shot. did you just walk up and ask?

My most memorable photo was from EdinburghGary "Stop", Not only for the image but for the powerful words written also.
 
That's my most memorable post ever (as I've discussed with gazeed before now too).

Nope, Its the on-board Bus "Stop" bell to alert the driver to pull over at the next stop...
Marcel, do you still have the epic search stored that we did to find the post? Might be worth a revisit for people...

That thread was pure therapy - god knows where it all came from. It reads more dramatic than it probably was, not all bad :D

I think my fave shot is the portrait of the miner. It ALWAYS sticks in my mind, I thinm it may have been messiah khan who posted it?

Yea Messiah Khan's crying miner is still one of the best images I've seen.
 
I have too many favourites to list them all, but a couple that spring to mind (largely for the processing :naughty:) are Jayst84's "Gatwick Hotel" shoot - especially the shot of the cardigan hanging above the tap :D ...

Not that many stick in my head - maybe a hint at the low standard overall, maybe not - although I remember a shot of a wolf in the snow that I liked.
