Wheel Invented (or else estate agency "invents" HDR)

Perhaps it is. But I like the results - subtle and less artificial and arty than some of the HDR that turn's up. But from the description of the technology it certainly seems to be the same thing.

If you read the blurb they just use Photoshop and judging by the results on their examples page they haven't read the manual, the shots are terrible.

Typical friggin estate agents find another
way ( albeit an "old" one) to hype up the pictures for poor unsuspecting buyers The pool looks blue the sky looks blue
I guess thats what they are selling at the end of the day....

Appologies Gandhi, but having dealt with "people" for several months on a personal basis &
I really hate them with a vengance [/rant]

Anything to make a buck eh?

"I tell people that ELC photos adds $100,000 to the value of their
home,"

HA HA HA!!! What tosh!

I have to admit it's an interesting idea. In that kind of market, presentation is vital to maximising the value. Note that they're based in Arizona. Lots of bright sunshine and harsh shadows ... so HDR is a very sensible approach.

Shame it's so badly done though. Just look at the haloes on some of those pictures! But I bet that 99% of the general public wouldn't notice that, and would notice that their pictures seem to be somehow better (clearer? brighter?) than the competition.

Of course, claiming it's a new technique and giving it a new name is pathetic. But I think we ought at least to credit them with a good underlying idea.

They made a better job of the indoor shots with it, some of the outdoor ones make the buildings look decrepit.
