Yes
I've had the pleasure of lunching at some of the country's finest restaurants and hotels, but just treated myself to one of my all-time favourite butties...

Fish-fingers, fresh white bread and loads of ketchup
- yummy :thumbs:

Now a m8's just told me that's plain 'odd', though I don't see why

Is that an odd butty??? :shrug:

And what's your favourite lunchtime nibble ???

What did you have today that was ACE :woot:

DD

Oh, and 'Top Snap' was meant as a photo pun & reference to 'Snap' being one's lunchtime pack-up (in these parts anyway:D)

Fish Finger butties are luvvvvvvvvvvvvvvverly. My favourite buttie is Bacon with tonnnes of Brown sauce. Only had choclate and toast today (not at same time :lol:) SO nothing special from me!

That would be my husband's "top snap", he does like a fishfinger sandwich with tommy K!!!

I think mine would be pasta but not with any of the usual sauce. I cook the pasta in the water with a knorr stock cube then drain some of the water away, stick it in a bowl with the rest of the water, then grate some cheese on top and a dash of Benenden Sauce (a local sweet garlic dipping sauce type thing)....mmmmmm yummy :lol: Then I drink up the "gravy" at the bottom once the pasta is finished. It's my complete feel good snack, when I'm feeling down, hungover, tired, stressed anything I have my pasta bowl :D

Now that's odd :shake:

And as for 'Nutella' :gag::gag::gag:

Next you'll be saying you like Marmite !!!

DD

:thinking: What's wrong with Marmite, I used to have digestives covered in Marmite and Cheese :lol: And I do like a nice Bovril when the nights draw in :D

What I don't get is my husband can't stand Marmite but likes Twiglets :shrug:

Mine has to be a sandwich comprising of corned beef, chips, backed beans and brown sauce – yum :)

Cheese, ham and Branston Pickle :) Although the horsemeat & chip (cheval et frite) baguettes we had in France were rather tasty too...

Buttered CRUSTY (almost burnt) bread roll filled to the brim with nice cheese & onion crisps.
Can't whack it
:D:D

I love butties !! Difficult to pick a "Top Snap" though.

Heres a couple of my faves :

Brie and Grape on a slightly warmed french baguette, black pepper and a dash of pesto.

Bacon, black pudding and cheese. White sliced loaf, toasted, HP.

Tuna & Mayo. Dash of vinegar, crispy salad, (rockets good) on a crusty tin loaf. White or brown, makes no odds.

Crisps. Preferably Cheese and Onion, white sliced loaf, extra butter !!

Cheese and Ham, crispy salad, drizzle of olive oil and black pepper.

I'm hungry now !!!!

That sounds absolutely gorgeous......

I'm going to hit one of those over the week-end for brekkie

It is,

Best done on 3 slices of toast. Bacon on the bottom with the sauce, black puddin up top with the cheese !!

Enjoy !!

Youre all making my mouth water here!!!
Some of you are making me drool & others are making my mouth water in a 'sucking a lemon' kinda way! :gag:

Simple stuff for me ... egg mayo on brown, or tuna, & mustard mayo on brown :)

Gotta either be fish finger butties as you mentioned, or very lightly toast 2 slices of white bread, spread philadelphia on one and peanut butter on the other, then slice some chedder and put it between em. Yum yum yum.

Egg mayo?
:gag::gag::gag::gag:;)

Has to be a double decker fish finger sandwich, it has to be a cut loaf and it has to be 10 fish fingers.
OK this is the way I make mine and if they are not made like this they just dont task right.

Bread must be buttered, 4 fish fingers running horizontally and then the 5th one running vertically up the side of the 4 fish fingers so that the fish fingers are tightly packed and then a large squeeze of tommy sauce, the middle slice of bread must be buttered on both sides, again the fishfingers have to placed the same way as in the bottom layer then loads of tartar sauce or if we have not got any then and good squeeze of salad cream. Top off with the last slice of buttered bread, cut in half between the 2nd and 3rd horizontal fish finger ( see it is important to lay the fish fingers the same way( I hate having more than 1 fish finger cut in half, do not ask me why)) and enjoy with a large mug of tea. :D
.:lol:
Not that I have tried many variation on the above or anything to find the ultimate fish finger sarnie

cheese and sausage toastie with loads of ketchup, mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Oh did you have to- thats one of my favs, along with

Corned Beef,Cheese, Onion,Branston Toasties- occaisionally with Beans in too...

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmy

I would have thought you would be partial to a chilli bap.

Goes without saying, but its a close second behind the one i quoted.

I tend to ignore the Chillis as i tend to have them every day on virtually every meal :cuckoo:

I even grow my own these days so i can just go and get a fresh one when cooking.

A bacon, egg, sausage, tomato and black pudding sarnie goes down great in a morning.

One of my unusual butties I did eat years ago was jam and cheese with some chips in the butties as well. scrummy!!!

bacon and fried egg toast sandwich with red sauce

On a friday after work I know that my wife has been to Tesco so its Judge Judy and six packets of niknaks..top grazing and I eat all six packets in one go, even the lemon and scampi ones.

A new 'Greasy spoon' sandwich van has opened near my work. so i can regularly get my favourite;

2 Freshly cooked hot sausages sliced in half, on a fresh soft white bap with onions and ketchup.

hmmmm...

S

Mine's cheese with cheese & onion-flavoured crisps and salad cream all in cheese-topped rolls.

No wonder why my dreams are often heavy and random. :D

WOWZER !!!

Some great, some not so great and some damn right revolting buttiy choices there chaps(esses)

:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

To the 10 Fish-finger at once butty :eek:

Must have jaws like a snake to get your chops round that one

:)

Not yet tried it myself but on some American TV programmes they seem to favour Peanut Butter & Jelly, anyone tried that???

:shrug:

cheese, tomato puree, herbs and of course peperoni.

wife thinks im a little :cuckoo:

There was, maybe still is, a cafe and sandwich shop in preston that did balm cakes that held a full breakfast. I mean everything including beens, fried bread, mushrooms, you could have haggis as well if you wanted. I'm avoiding Preston now! Lost 9 1/2 stone in the last 2 years, a couple of those and it will be back to square one. They are amazing butties though.

Cheers
Al.

Ahhh.... faggots, soggy chips, topped with mint jelly and really thick onion gravy served between 2 doorsteps (thick slices) of warm crusty bread.
