what time

Joe, I don't want to eat late, nor do I want to eat early. I want to eat when I feel hungry, and generally that will be more around the 7pm mark than the 6pm.

Who dumped in your cornflakes?

Eat dinner at around 9.30-10 usually.

Geez. You lot really will argue about anything

That wasn't a moderator comment from me, just a general view

Oh for the love of all that is.....well, whatever....does someone have to have dumped in the cornflakes I don't eat?

I was asked a question....I answered it.

WTF did I do wrong. OK I may have got a little defensive, but I think the ability to get defensive is a prerequisite to even being a member here!

We eat dinner late. Why is that so freaky to some? Eat when you like....I couldn't give a rat's ass.

OK that is all. :bang:

For what it's worth, we never eat before seven pm. Not since my brother and I were small. On top of that, we always sit round a table together. I know. Madness.

Very interesting reading about times people eat and also the evidence for and against eating late impacting health. Etc.

This has been a very good conversation.

Oh Lord...You're done? Thank (whatever) god.

Actually I have 2 eating "patterns" if they can be called patterns
scenario 1
I work away from home a lot, and as such the company pays for B&B
So I'll eat a fried breakfast at around 07:00 -07:30
then not eat again until around 17:30 - 18:00

Scenario 2
If I am "home based" I never eat breakfast,
I may have a sandwich at around mid-day, but not always
But will eat a main cooked meal will be around 18:00
If no breakfast was eaten that day, I may eat a couple of slices of toast a bit later in the
evening (around 21:00) with a coffee, I may not.

Ruth I am not sure what your problem is with Joe,

You have both had you say now, so lets please drop it and play nice.

Varies according to what time we finish work. Mostly about 8.45ish in the week, and 7ish at the weekend

 I read that in the voice of the Japanese samurai master from the film The Last Samurai "this has been a goooood conversation".

Tea time is usually between 5 and 6 in our household (I work shifts). Maybe later if we are getting a curry in after we've got the kids to bed.

...and yes, for me it's tea. Breakfast Dinner Tea Supper. Always will be, just like hotpot is made with corned beef :)

Dare i ask at what time you will be sitting down to your Christmas dinner?

plan is for about 4pm. But thats a little late I know most people have it earlier. I would too but with my kids sleeps and my brother-in-law and sister in laws dogs needing walking etc, it seems like that will be the best time

what about you?

So your having Christmas tea rather than christmas dinner.

our main Christmas meal we are having out on Christmas Eve but plan on about 3pm on the day so we can enjoy the day together, Rather than me stuck in the kitchen. and hopefully hubby will phone in the morning and i don't want to be pratting about in the Kitchen.

I am a carpenter and finish work around 4.45 to 5.00. I normally work within 45 minutes from home. Er indoors does not work so consequently my evening meal is ready within 15 minutes of my return from work. Er indoors has worked previously but has always had jobs where she finished work in good time to prepare the meal. We have had two children so the timings where about right for what we wanted. This scenario has been the case since we got married in 1975 and has never caused any problems. I don't eat breakfast, i have a sandwich at 10.00 and again at 13.00 and a light snack around 21.00.

I have 2 eating habits, this is because of my job.

If I am away, I have a cooked breakfast at about 06.30 to 07.00
Then I have dinner at about 19.00 I don't eat or drink between breakfast and about 18.00 when I get back to the hotel.

When I am at home, normally I am out the house at 05.00 when I take either a mug of tea or coffee in the car in a thermos mug for the drive to wherever I am. I normally get back between 4 and 7, if I am sitting down with the kids to eat in the evening we eat at about 18.00 but I hate walking in the door and sitting down to eat, I'd much rather come in sit down and do my paperwork and relax a bit before I sit down to eat. So when I am at home I have a coffee at about 05.00 then nothing to eat or drink till I get home. I then go to bed at about midnight, I then normally wake up at about 2.30 for a wee, when I will not down stairs and have a bowl of cereal and then go back to bed.

Eat when you want to eat.

If you're hungry...eat.

If you have a routine with the rest of the family....eat.

If you have medicinal needs that dictate when you need to eat....eat.

Just don't, for one second, think that the opinion of anyone else matters when it comes to how you conduct your life.

Big fat smiley face :D
