I think I've tried most, if not all the magazines, over the last 7-8 years. I've changed what I get regularly over the years, as I change and the magazines change. There is one or two new ones that have arrived over the last year or so, but they haven't grabbed me when I've looked through them.
I currently get
Practical Photography for their Digital SLR Skills course, which I thought could be useful. Recently I've found that
Digital SLR Photography magazine has the best mix of everything, and I've been buying it almost every month.
There are about 15 magazines available,

which shows how popular photography is, but it can be a bit of trial and error to get one or two that you may be happy with. There will always be an odd month when there is another mag that catches your eye for whatever reason.
A lot of people will say that they don't need mags with the internet, but I like to read the mags on the bus, and yes, on the toilet and in the bath.
The mags repeat a lot of what they do on a yearly cycle, and a lot of mags cover the same things at the same times. But you pays your money, you takes your choice.
