Not sure if this link says something about twitter, the state of the nation, or just a twit![]()
I think it says nothing about Twitter and everything about the idiot writing the tweet to be honest, I have no doubt the same outcome would have happened if it had happened on Facebook or some other social networking site! :shake:

Dont get me wrong, I am not a grumpy old man (yet) but I just dont understand Twitter. What is the point and whats it all about. I was on a business networking forum earlier and looked at someones Twitter posts that day. Nothing at all worth reading!!!
So what is the point? Why should I care that someone is enjoying or hating the snow, or off to Birmingham tomorrow? I saw the post on here asking about celeb followers... not wishing to sound rude but what do people post and why would people want to follow?
How would it help you build your business?
Maybe at 36 I have hit the technology buffers!! Have a facebook account but only use it for PPC on facebook, and not like my wife does!
Now what? Did a basic search for things that may be of interest... hard to look locally as it keeps throwing Boston US up as well as UK (looking for Cambridge). So, I obviously have no followers, so if I post a comment who see's it?? Looking around, 99% of comments do seem utterly pointless so will give it a while longer but not looking interesting.
Another thing to find interesting people is this website. Type in something that interests you and it magically comes up with a list of the most interesting people to follow, so if you're looking for photographers it'll look like this.![]()
i dont get it either, you get things like i just stood in a puddle whats the point :bonk:
my latest tweet simply says 'Socially inadequate'!!![]()

And people wonder why twitter isn't for everyone... I suppose at best it could be construed to be a diary of sorts. And people wonder why twitter isn't for everyone... I suppose at best it could be construed to be a diary of sorts.
(and yes, I've tried it, have all singing all dancing social networked mobile communications, but I'm still too busy leading a life to write about it in 150 words or less. :bang![]()
Some would argue that it would take a hell of a lot more time to make 1700 posts on an internet forum, a sure sign of social inadequacy........![]()

I would argue that the likes of Facebook, Twitter etc may well be providing a social commentary of the current generation in the same ways that letters & telegrams did 50 years ago. Perhaps when historians delve into the past in a couple of hundred years time, some of their primary data will come from these sources.
A point you may wish to labour on some here whose posts run into many thousands - Marcel perhaps? His post count must be into 30-40,000 by now, a sure sign of being a social inadequate using your comment. You weren't inferring those here with a high post count are socially inadequate, were you??? That's asking for![]()
Lord help future generations when they look back and see brain stimulating twitter comments such as "I just stood in a puddle"Twitter is certainly a divisive tool eh? Kind of the Marmite of blogging perhaps?

Accept it, Twitter and TP are very similar......![]()

Hmm... No need to tweet a diary of your life then, given your 700+ posts here - surely?
![]()

I only had time for 700 posts, as I've been tweeting....if I'd focused my efforts solely on TP, then my post count would be probably be about a 1000 higher.....![]()

That has to be one of the most belligerent responses I've ever seen on this forum. Do you have a source for your quote to give it some context?
