What car do you drive?

Who cares  whichever one is going at the time and if none of them are, then it is a John Deere

Don't we all mate ;)

My dad has the same car, albeit standard (despite my not so gentle hints about remapping etc) and he is always surprised how it handles. It's shames many more expensive cars in the twistys!!

You need to try even harder to convince him even if it's just a few tweaks like the springs and an Airtec intercooler, it'll be putting alot more cars to shame then and suprise him even more. I teven feels like a totally different car.
How do you find the 1.8 tdci Focus? My son currently has an 02 1.6 petrol Focus but he wants to go diesel, he's been looking at Fiesta Zetec S TDCi's but too much money, the Mk1 Focus TDCi Sport looks quite tempting though.
I don't think he'll be tuning it just yet though he's only just about to turn 20 and still at college.

I love it, I have a tuning box on mine, I know I'd get much more from a remap but up till now my circumstances haven't really allowed for it!

Again it's amazing what they keep up with as standard, and if you go for the TDCi sport, it'll have the 17" alloys, all it would need is eibachs and it'd be well sorted!!

Barrym on TDOCUK used to have one, he loved it!!

Mk1 Seat Leon FR Tdi with Cupra R body kit, remapped to around 190 bhp, 320 ft/lb torque and a stage 2 clutch and flywheel to get the power down! As well as up to 60mpg if you really granny it, £125 a year tax and low insurance!

2 nippers now though so i'm looking at something bigger, maybe a Mondeo ST TDci or an Octavia VRS

If your looking to tune the new car go for the skoda, much more tuning potential!!

I've had a spanking new focus for a few weeks and I love it, the only thing I find a little disappointing Is that it's lacking a bit if poke until it gets to 2500rpm, I test drove a 1.6tdci before and I'm sure it was more pokey, maybe it's the DPF sucking some life out

BOO!! the first thing anyone does when tuning a TDCi is whip that DPF out!! however i think the new MOT regs that may come in will put a stop to that!!

the 1.8 i had was more responsive, even with aircon on, this 1.6 struggles, it really bogs down with aircon on. the 1.6 i drove before was definately more pokey low down. I still enjoy the car, its a lovely drive and very quiet, so im happy enough, and sensibly driven it returns 60mpg with no problem

Sounds similar to my 09 fiesta. Waits until 3500rpm to make any effort of power.

As above. I've got a mk7 Fiesta ZS 1.6 Petrol. Brilliant car to drive, great fun. But it's riddled with issues. :shake:

I drive the ultimate old woman's car, the dreaded Micra!

Had the joy of the washer motor causing problems today, making the wipers dance of their own accord. Nissan have put the motor in the most idiotic place, right at the front, can't get one from a scrappy because the Micras they have in stock have front end damage.

That said, it's a nice little car, even with its flaws.

Just to update earlier post The renault I ordered fell through due to company restructure so I am collecting a Nissan Qashqui 1.5dci ntec on monday.

But the real reason for the update, the battery failed on the Civic again yesterday, so thats another battery to the list, plus the UJ joint on the drive shaft seized last month, and more brakes aswell.

At the min a MK3 Golf TDI, so boring.

My last few cars have all been fast VW's; a Corrado VR6, a MK3 GTI 16v and a MK2 with a Audi 2.0 16v.

Really want a fun car again soon.

I drive a Citroen Berlingo, with the back lowered to take a wheelchair, I'm too old and married to worry what I look like driving it :-)

We have a 09 astra sxi 1.6 and a 09 zafira Sri 1.8.

We have 3 young children so the 7 seater is a must

I have a BMW GSA1200 to haul me around and a we have a Ford Galaxy to haul us all around (4 kids so is a must) :-)

I've recently swapped the MINI for a Honda CRV, an '05 plate so not a new one but with 3 kids and a dog and no company car now we needed something we could all get in.

I'm really pleased with it, it's a really nice bit of kit. I just wish I had gone for a diesel version, the petrol version is no more economical than my MINI!:D

a very boring peugot partner van for private transport , or a choice of two landrovers and a ford ranger for work

Thought I would add a picture of my P6 in all its glory just about to deliver my sister to the church on time..

A 16yr old Land Rover Discovery ES that just sailed through its MOT...again! Mrs A has a red '08 VW Beetle and we have a '51 plate Micra we use when we run out of diesel...

Allan

We have a newish nissan navara which the OH uses for work (builder) and I use at weekend to tow my horse around, its so luxurious I love it! My car is an Audi A3 2.0L TDI sportback which I love also, it gives me 450 miles a month on a tank and on the motorway it will do nearly 600 miles!

Great minds think alike!

ive got a VW polo, about 11 years old but its a tank and nippy too with plenty of space :P

just got rid of the focus titanium tdci for something smaller
a mini cooper s with a couple of little tweeks

Nice one Terry. I'm afraid I jacked in my Red beast... a Citroen ZX for a Citroen C1. Well when i bought the ZX I was married and had two young children. Now I'm diviorced, living by myself, and when the boys come round each week they have their own transport... also parking's at a premium in my road, so the C1 is great. Seems to have a dodgy clutch though....

Just got a Passat V6 4 motion, thankfully i get free petrol so 23mpg is acceptable.

1991 vw polo GT weighs around the 850kg mark and standard has 75bhp with close ratio gear box. Obviously being 20 its not standard. Has polo performance stage 1 chip, golf gti afm with K&n filter utilising the cold air feed (extra on mine as ex display model :) ) also ported throttle body.

Estimated to push out around 90bhp at the fly.

Summer project is to port and polish the head and decat (1991 woop) and remove centre box. Should be hitting over 95bhp

Even with that you have to tickle it when pulling away in the wet, so much torque for a little 1.3 and no weight means easy wheel spins. Not good when the only tyres you can buy that are decent for my alloys are ~£60 a corner *cringe*

£60 a corner!! How I'd love to only pay £60 a corner for tyres lol!!
