I have 2 WD My Cloud drives which are driving me mad, when I try to open the My Cloud app it says it needs to be updated but when I try to update it says I need to update from within the My Cloud app qhich of course I can't do. According to the WD website the drives i have can be updated to the new OS but before I do that I have to check the firmware but I cant do that until I can access the drive 
Has anybody else descended this rabbit hole and successfully come out the other side?
