£80 cheaper than last year. Result.
I've transfered all my music from my iMac to my iPad so I can listen to it when we go on holiday..especially during flights. I had to get a short Apple cable with the 3.5mm jack-socket on one end and a USB-C connector at the other to fit my iPad...£8.50. Next job was to research over-ear wired headphones. I wanted a decent pair so I initially looked at Sennheiser and Bose but names I'd never heard of were listed in reviews such as. "Top five over-ear headphones 2025". "2025 Top ten " "Best Over Ear headphones One Stand-Out Winner." .etc..It was bewildering. Two days ago I'd been looking at the Bose QuietComfort SC wired ,Noise Cancellation headphones at £319.
This morning, I just happen to mention to my wife about them and unbeknown to me she Googled them to look at reviews then came to me with her iPad and told me that they were on offer in the Bose Spring sale at £189. Even the model replacing them ..the QuietComfort Ultra (wireless, though) is on offerr -22% off at £349 from £449. I'd read quite a few reviews on the QuietComfort SC wired..but this one impressed me . I bought them earlier through Amazon. I've posted this in case anyone is also wanting a set of similar headphones.

Yes he is. Only 2 years old, so a bit manic!
It took a year to be ready for a new cat after the loss of Benji and I knew that I wanted another Bengal as they are so different from any other cats I have known.

Finally adopting this lovely boy from CWRS. He has been through the mill having broken his leg mid December and has had a further operation to remove the 12 screws and 2 plates causing him severe pain. He is unbelievably good natured and purrs a lot!View attachment 447915

He's a beauty!!!
I suffered the loss of my Tabby cat Whiskas 4 months ago, he'd reach the ripe old age of 18.5, and for the first time in nearly 50 years I am cat-less.... I keep hearing noises in the house, the same noises that would happen when he was up to no good in the kitchen, so I'm wondering if his spirit has come back to annoy me...
Been wanting a pair of these for ages (a mate bought some a few years back and swears by their NC efficiency!) so have bitten the bullet and ordered a pair.
Once cooled, I keep my bread in an air tight container and it lasts 5-6 days.I've been making all our bread since October, and although it's been ok, making a loaf that is good for 3 days or more has eluded me until this week. I made a loaf Tuesday with a pre-scald to rye flour, 95% hydration and a rapid fermentation, and it's stayed soft and moist right until now when I've just eaten the last crust. There's more development to be done, but this feels like the right direction.

A good result from the docs.

I've been playing on this today. "Hello, I'm Alan. I'm Normal."
Beware, this tactic can backfire, as it did with me. I claimed it as evidence, as you did. The next blood test found something 'Abnormal', which she turned back on me.Me and Mrs WW went for medicals the other day and my results came today on the NHS ap. All is well but the main thing that pleased me is that I'm "Normal." Mrs WW can't believe itBut I have it in writing. From a medical professional. I'm Normal

Pleased to say the 'abnormal' is now back to ',normal'. An infection had weakened my immune system but its back fighting fit now.Sometimes we have to take things day to day and if we're ok realise how lucky we are. As I said to someone going through health issues this morning, and he agreed... "At least things aren't worse."![]()

First Thing.
Today I installed one of those doorbell cameras and some smart bulbs. There were only a couple of gripes for me. The doorbell wont give an audible alarm when someone approaches the door if it's in live view mode and although the bulbs can be grouped together so for example you can turn all the lights on/off in one room together you can't set an on/off "schedule" as a group and can only program each bulb schedule individually. Online it says that you can but in reality there's no "schedule" option in the group set up and it's only there for individual light set up. I did update the firmware but the option still isn't there.
Despite the little gripes I can recommend the doorbell and the smart bulbs and I was pleased to be able to set it all up myself without Mrs WW as she normally does anything phone related as I usually have no interestOh, another gripe is that the doorbell mounting plate has no adjustment and can only be mounted flat to a surface and I'd really like to angle it slightly. I might have to get a bracket or wedge of wood or something or create an angled surface with filler if I can't live with it as it is.
Second thing.
This was actually yesterdayI watched a vid on youtube of climbers and soldiers competing in various competitions and one that they did was an exercise they called "planking." It's a sort of press up position with your elbows on the ground. I thought it looked easy so I gave it a go. The climber lasted about 90 seconds and the soldier gave up after 2 minutes and I easily outlasted them both
I was very happy to have beaten those two who looked like they were in their early twenties
I've done press ups as a part of my keep fit regime since I was a teenager but I'd never done this planking before. Mrs WW didn't last long as she doesn't do press ups.
I just did what they did on TV. I can only think that I did well because I've been doing press ups longer than they've been alive. I'm under no illusions, there were only two exercises I think I could have competed in without embarrassing myself and the rest, they'd have embarrassed me.Not to pee on your parade but was your planking proper? I do this at the gym and I always have my bum too high (which is a lot easier). Moving planks are interesting and hard work!
