WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Ours was a very accomplished huntress...
Our cats, over a 50 year period, ranged from "Miss Innocent"' whose record was 16 mice on the doorstep one morning, to "Mr Duh", who nearly caught a large spider but missed at the last moment!

Another one never tired of (unsuccessfully) trying to get a paw through the anti-cat netting on my wife's fish tanks...

I've not owned cats been owned by cats in years, but one was rather good at catching and eating spiders, and promptly puking them back up a few mins later :D
should have lots of tadpole’s in a while :)
Clumps of spawn #3 & #4 arrived overnight.
I'm gonna need a bigger pond :D

Was a very slight WAMT when Mrs Nod bought me a steak on Monday - she'd picked a nice looking one off the rump shelf but it was actually a chunk of fillet (she's a veggie so didn't spot the difference). Slightly annoying until I remembered that she'd paid for it!!!

The CMUT was that it was lunch and delicious!

WCMUT was getting an appointment for what will probably be my last head MRI scan. I still find it hard to believe that it's 10 1/2 years since Mr. Meningioma got evicted! Slightly surprised that I only got 3 1/2 days notice but we've got nothing else happening on Sunday evening anyway!

"One cold tinny, resting on the shelf..."?

A weekend, after my first full week back at work in 5 years..... God I'm knackered...... :D

Yup, one left, not sure if I should be annoyed or happy now though.

One is better than none.

Hares seem to have gone AWOL, but I think that's the cold soggy fields doing that...BUT .. I've tracked down a pair of Barnies  watched them hunting 'together' this moring :)

Just need some luck now to get my backside in the right place at the right

...and while we were visiting the MiL, I had a call from the hospital asking me if I wanted to take a cancellation a few hours earlier than originally booked so all done and dusted. As every year, WCMUT was being allowed home afterwards - first one I had, I ended up with the ear to ear scar over the top of my head!

Mother's Day was Sunday and the three large clumps of daffodils on the grass verge(15m wide) across the road are untouched.

In the past I've seen kids and sometimes even adults taking them.

I saw a woman in her 30-40s 'harvesting' daffodils from a grass verge today on my way to the supermarket...... in broad daylight, with cars and pedestrians nearby.

I bought a new phone Samsung from John Lewis 18 months ago.
Recently the battery has been depleting in a very short time, overnight on standby from 60% down to 3%
It came with a 2 year guarentee so today I took it back to John Lewis and without argument they are sending
for either repair or replace, free of charge
It's so nice to not have to argue

Receiving a Council Tax Rebate for a property I owned and lived in 10 years ago.

Seems someone has questioned the Tax band and its been reduced by a band.
Interestingly the Local authority have tracked me to my new address to inform me. It did take an hour of my life to get through but a rather nice chunk of change heading our way for the 7 backdated years we lived there.

A clean bill of health at the family dental check up today. (y)

I had the same last week, and again 6 months prior which made two in a row. I started using those interdental brushes about 9 months ago and what a difference they make. Wish I had used them a long time ago.

Our postman

A couple of days ago we were waiting for a parcel to be delivered. We were about to go out and Mrs T said should we leave the door unlocked in case the parcel arrived.

I said I thought it wouldn't arrive as I'd seen the postman across the road about half an hour earlier and he had driven away.

Out we went but when we arrived back there was one of the red card from the Post Office.

I was a bit annoyed we had missed the delivery and I thought I'd have to go and collect it.

However, the postman had written on the card that he'd found the car unlocked and he'd put the parcel under one of the seats.

A great result.

Dave

I should mention this is in NW Scotland

It's Saturday, 6-55pm, so it's almost beer o'clock.

This cheers me up.

18:00 here (or local time, wherever I might be!)

In a past life I used to work the nightshift nothing better than a nice bottle of red in a little street cafe at 8 in the morning.

Over the moon here right. now as walked down the stairs with my wife as she went to work but this time I managed to walk outside ( 1st time out doors ) since last year . Took it nice and slow and am well chuffed I feel ok, I have to go out tomorrow as I'm posting a lens I sold, so a taxi from our door to the post office have a brew in a cafe then taxi back home as we live on a hill.

I've been going through folders deleting some and reprocessing others and I picked three to print and frame. Despite the snags you can run into when home printing the whole thing made me happy and I now have three new printed and framed pictures on the wall in the hall. I keep going into the hall and up and down stairs to see them :D

Following on from my WAMT post, I just had a call from the DVLA to tell me that they've lifted the revocation of my driving licence as of this afternoon and I can go back to driving under section 88 until it arrives.

Gonna p*** the missus off though as she had to go into London today so she had to drive herself to the station and pay £9 to park!

Glad you're sorted, Marc. I know from bitter experience that the medical section at the DVLA are as useless a cunch of bu..... as one could ever hope to never have to deal with!

Fortunately, they were quite efficient in this case. As for my consultant...!

WCMUT was a small "F'linglish" (full English) breakfast for lunch followed by a Cardamom Danish from a local bakery (only 2 left at 08:30 apparently!)

My surgeon and GP were both happy that I was fit to drive but because I had been on an anti epilepsy drug for a couple of weeks (as a prophylactic measure rather than a treatment), the DVLA knew better.

It's pot luck I think with the DVLA. Fortunately for me, it was just a wrong box ticked so easy to resolve.

My new security lock barrel for the front door arrived, on time and fit exactly as it should, with no protrusions, that the thieving, robbing scr**ts can get a hold onto with their mole grips! Have a look at yours folks. If it's a euro lock, it takes seconds to do/undo. It wasn't cheap but as "they" walk away from these, it's worth it. :)
