When we lived on a farm, one of our cats won her title as the ultimate psycho cat by picking (and winning) a fight with a local badger set. Until we moved in, the badgers had established a path from their set, across a five acre field, through the hedge and round the walls of our house, on their way (via the farmyard) to the next field. The cat objected to this and on the third night we were there, all hell broke out sometime after midnight. To cut a long story short, the grass grew back over the badger track and I discovered a new one a few days later on the back field, a couple of hundred yards from the house.
By the time we'd lived there six months, the local dog owners had also learned to find alternative routes avoiding our gates. Dragging their animals past a large cat perched on one of the gate posts was such a... drag!
She looks so innocent, doesn't she?
