WCMUT....what cheered me up today

WCMUT: Mercedes in MK. They sorted me out with the last time. And again got a very stonking deal. Nothing like a bit of retail therapy to get the mind of things.

EON thinking they can increase the price of a fixed term contract.
I did email them to ask for an explanation and got a bull s*** reply!

Why did that cheer me up?
Because I hit the comparison websites and discovered I can save £275 a year :thumbs:
 
Another weekend. Another Bavarian Beerfest. This week we were in Freising. Home to the world's oldest brewery. Weihenstephan. https://www.weihenstephaner.de/ And jolly nice beer it is too.

I took these on my phone. I'll not risk taking a camera in to the tent when I'm there to enjoy the beer and rock along with the music.

There's some cheap energy club deal in the offing too so that's always worth checking out.

Currently the tariff I'm on is the cheapest I can get so they'd have to work hard to beat it.
 
Having someone's escaped pet rodent removed from my shed today, but not before it had chewed through the electrics! :lol:

I dunno if it is a pet...
There's an established population of them around the Chilterns, but I think that's the wrong side of London for you.
There's loads in France, so it may have come across on a lorry.
I do think they're protected though in the UK, so I'm not sure what you're allowed to do with one (other than post more pears into it).
@Cobra ? Do you know anything about these guys?

The pest control chap took it away.
Quite popular pets I'm led to believe rather like Degus.

I'd never heard of them neither, I had to google it, you could have had it for dinner as it's known as the edible dormouse. ;)
According to Wikipedia there is a wild British Glis Glis population of around 30,000, but they are in the Bedfordshire area. They do start fattening themselves up for winter though so that could account for it's plumpness.
 
Ah. It's trained to chew chew wiring, and come out of hiding when it smells pear. :D
It'll be working in another shed tomorrow, while the pest controller waits for the call. :p

Funny that I was only talking about them last week. I ran into one of my neighbours on the common who was recording the insects for natural england, and he was telling me about them and where they reside in our village.

Its all down to those damned Romans, bringing them over for food, they kept them in clay posts, fattened them up, and then ate them (dead)
Plus of course that damned Rothschild releasing a load on to his estate in Tring.
DEFRA in their infinite wisdom, protected "Dormice" of course they meant the Hazel Dormouse,
as Glis Glis are a non indigenous species and therefore vermin.

However they can be killed under licence, by licensed pesties, and the details of numbers and location has to be recorded with DEFRA.
They are normally incredibly destructive and vicious.

Having "spoken" to Ruth privately about this I'm also convinced that it's an escaped pet.

IIRC the only legal way to kill them is to live trap and shoot or Fen trap. (its like large rat trap)
As they contain no poison, you can fire up the BBQ, bury it, or throw it in the rubbish.
Bodies that contain poison. have to be deep buried or incinerated.

I thought it was a fair comment TBH, :D especially now the "front man" is Natural England.
As a professional pestie, and a falconer, ( some birds have to be registered with them by the breeder) its easier getting blood out of a stone, than getting a straight answer.
DEFRA as they were, were much easier to deal with!

Well yesterday, being asked if someone could take phone shot of one of my pictures on the camera screen, they could get a decent cub shot with their phone :LOL:

Seeing on the radar that there's a rain front approaching from France.
Just hoping it doesn't dry up before it gets here!
