WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Cheered me up? I almost PMSL today.
For about a year, I've been asking that the humongous trees out the back, between rear gardens and in a walk through, has some serious attention,
at about 60 feet high and 40 spread, they are no longer shielding the houses from each other as the lower branches point up wards and don't start till eaves height.
It also blocks sunlight from my garden, in all but June - early August, when the sun manages to climb above the trees.

It took them nearly 6 months to remove a broken bough, about 30 feet long and 30 feet up.

Backwards and forwards backwards and forwards emails to the CEO of the local council and my MP.

I got home today to find an email, that politely said ( paraphrasing ) were are not doing anything about the trees they have about another 50-60 years before reaching maturity.
Tough s***!
Although they did agree that a couple of other trees in the area, would need a little pruning for their ( the trees) own sake.

What made me PMSL? returning home from work, looking out the kitchen window, The left hand side has gone, I assume the right hand side will also go when the mulching truck has emptied and returned.

I shall enjoy returning the CEO's email later, however not until they have finished, just in case they got the wrong one :D

( or they have a dim view of bribing tree surgeons of course :D )

Edit Before and after update

Talking to the tree surgeons, it seems that hybrid trees ( which these are)
when they get to that height / age they split and bits fall off!
I've been saying that for almost a year, seems the case for the prosecution rests

And the one to the left of frame is going too

Result!

WCMUT was glorious sunshine for my course this afternoon. Again, chuffing chilly but worth it for the vitamin D boost. Wish the result of my course work had cheered me up as well but I lost 3 balls (in 9 holes...) and came close to wrapping a club around a tree (not in a fit of pique [CBA to take it too seriously!] but followed through a bit too far.)

indeed
Unfortunately, I have to now let her ( the CEO) down gently and try and explain that
a) either the tree has been stolen,
or
b) despite providing photographic evidence location, description and more, that her surveyor is a total w****r
and needs re-training.
If (a) when she catches the culprits send them to me and I'll buy them a beer

( actually I did give them a case ;) )

Do you have an open fire or woodburner? Could be a win-win-win!!! :D

Unfortunately no :(
But while I was chatting briefly, anything under about 6 inches diameter went in the shredder
( they use a lot of bark / chipped wood around here for the landscaping foot paths etc )
The rest went onto the lorry I guess that's the chopper downer's bonus ;)

I''m 99.999% certain that your tree men found some very dire nasty fungus and had to take rather drastic action so it didn't spread to healthy trees

The £50 pinned to the tree, I'm sure was the root cause TBH.
Drastic action needed eh? :D

You won't know if it's too much until the morning, unless it was so much too much that it bounces... No hangover but a pleasant buzz all evening = just enough! :P

I'm sure one arm of the council not having a clue what another is doing also can't be ruled out, I'm sure.

Well as I sent pictures and exact locations originally, that would be my bet ;)
But their inefficiently got me the result I wanted

We caught a glimpse of our first big cat today. It was dusk so we didn't get any pictures. And it didn't hang around. One of the guides told us it was probably the same one they'd seen with some cubs a few days before. Then we were told to be silent while the guide listened. I couldn't hear anything but the experienced guide could tell it was feeding time. The lady whose house backed onto the Scout hut would always shake a box of cat treats in her garden on Tuesday evenings when the girl guides met there. I reckon it was her cat.

Wcmut: I have to go abroad for work. They picked me, besides my extremely good looks and expert knowledge :), as I speak the language fluently. Funny thing is, I made contact with my liaison, they are Romanian and Polish. Hehehe guess we still have to speak English.

Coming on TP this morning and finding not one, but two, superb B&W portraits, it's made my day.

They are very good aren't they.

Wcmut - my youngest daughter knows how to twerk. We were just browsing through Apple Music whilst playing it at 11 on our stereo. And Bitches by Devlin came on (I explained it was about dogs :)) and she got up and did a twerk. So funny.

I was assessing another linux distribution and then I came across this app....How can one resist to run that :)

Some interesting things in that list full stop
Purely to assess other people's work to keep people safe  Turns out its not a bad vulnerability scanner, although could be used the other way as well....

Getting out for a run in the light again.

Im supposed to do 2 x 20mins runs a week to help with the pins and needles in my hand (no idea) and I was working 7 - 6 until I got my forced holiday.

WCMUT....seeing a HUGE Starling murmuration on the way home from work.

WCMUT?
Getting off that damned landfill and back to "proper" pest control

Yep seems it is a full moon tonight (y)

LMAO, I think a colleague of mine may have written that app, or maybe it's just based on his life  On the bright side at least he's getting me a bit of overtime ! More money for my GAS problem.

WCMUT? Pretty much everything :D

Don't tell us, you slept well last night?

Christ no, don't be silly!

Well if it wasn't sleep, then I bet it is something you do when not sleeping. Normally it cheers people up, well it does in my experience ;)
