WCMUT....what cheered me up today

WCMUT: Booked to see another orchestra performance (Royal Liverpool Philharmonic this time).

Thinking about it is giving me goosebumps. :)

My car sailing through the MOT with no nasty surprises :D

WCMUT....The Iowa caucus result :D

Woohoo! I just received confirmation of my reservation of tables at this year's Munich Oktoberfest! Like gold dust they are, but a great way to buy friends. Drunken ones, admittedly.

WCMUT....The Iowa caucus result :D
Couldn't agree more
Presumably you're referring to the Republican caucus? It doesn't mean much. They moved the Iowa caucus to the beginning of the year - thereby giving it a significance it didn't previously have - in 1976. This year's context was the eighth in that time, since 1984 (Reagan), 1992 (Bush I) and 2004 (Bush II) were unopposed. Of the previous seven contests before this year, in four of them (1980, 1988, 2008, 2012) the winner of the Iowa Republican vote didn't go on to win the Republican presidential nomination.

I didn't say it meant a lot.
I said it cheered me up.

Wcmut: people arguing in the suggestions thread on how to ignore the hot topics section because "they" always argue in there. You got to love the irony, well I do anyway.

wcmut: being able to tell who posts in the Hot Topics section without ever setting foot in there. :D

Yeah I didn't know you could do that, as we see it as a normal forum
Trouble is some people have no self control :D

I didn't mean by looking at "last poster" on the main page :D (just spotted that after reading your post. Highly amusing. :D).

Just for the record I was certainly not arguing and I take exception to you and a certain mod implying I was

I offered some help and assistance in that thread which was not met very well by a member and your selective quoting in said thread was not helpful either

I'm improving at last then? :D

I wasn't pointing the finger at anyone in particular, but read the few post again, from my point of view and you can see the way its going down hill fast.

The thing is Chris I did not respond to the members last rant, neither to the selective quoting by another member, instead I reported the post concerned - in so doing hoping that the thread would go back on topic.

Keith, I thought your first post was offering help and assistance. That didn't mean it didn't decent into chaos there after. It is just typical of how these things get started, a very simple misunderstanding getting out of control because people assume the worst intentions.

Similarly to what you just done here as I most definitely did not selectively quote. I quoted the full posts, doing that selectively on a mobile phone is way too hard.

The noises in the mri scanner made me think of an eighties computer game. That was good as the time flew by.

Hope the results cheer you up too, JP. Not got the date for mine (annual MRI) yet but it's usually in March. Personally, I dislike it since my shoulders are touching the sides of the tube and it's too loud to hear the music (although that's also a blessing since Hospital Radio Exeter isn't a great chooser of "music"!

WCMUT is the Sun. It's visible!

Lol they played Heart at Luton & Dubstable. I much preferred the voice of the radiographer, that was lovely. Hated putting the face mask on and going in the tunnel, but the noises made it fun for me.

Thanks, we'll see about the results in about ten days. Still got a loss of strength in my arm and ringing in my ear but otherwise I'm blessed and healthy. Heck I had to think back when my last blood test was, it was in 2000 when the mortgage provide insisted on a life insurance policy and to be accepted for that level I was sent to a private clinic. Thinking about it now cheers me up as after the test they laid on a lovely spread.

Got to make my own breakfast now :( I'm making bacon pancakes :p yum yum

WCMUEMT was getting my t***nav DVD update installed and the t***nav itself working properly. Also discovered a new place for lunch on Exmouth sea front - well, the place isn't new but we usually have lunch at the Grove pub but their kitchen was closed today so we walked back up to the Ocean Café and were pleasantly surprised.

Just seen what looks like a really fun sport to watch - Canicross! Basically cross country running while being towed by a dog. Takes the dogs a few moments to realise that they're dragging the runner along through the mud on their ass not their feet. :D

Saw it on the Cats v Dogs thing on the BBC earlier. Silly argument - dogs are good but cats are superior! :P

Managed to get z3 half decent. Bit of suspension twiddling and tram lining is pretty much gone. It's more boring than it was but it's not trying to kill me every time there is tiny ripple in the road. Which is nice.

Calling out someone to repair the slow puncture on my car tyre, who turned up, on time, fixed it and all for £15 when I know many other places would have tried to flog me a new tyre!

Getting a quote of £100 + VAT to change my cloudy windscreen, might be able to see where I'm going soon :)

Visiting the red squirrels, otters (Asian Short Clawed) etc. at Escot. Didn't take a camera since it was crappy weather and I have plenty of shots of them already. Great Mk. 1 Eyeball experience! For anyone local to the place who isn't aware, they're getting Wildcats, Lynxes and Wolves soon. Cats very soon (end of Feb/early March) and Wolves in the summer (they hope!)

So if she could combine the two, she could actually save money. (y)
Fair point well presented (y)

( although I believe she no longer smokes, so will have a hell of a wait :D )

Why don't you just clean it?

Or lob a rock at it and pay the £10 excess for replacing cracked windscreen on insurance. :D

WCMUT....More Starbucks.
I don't give a toss how much tax they pay. :D

Shame their coffee's revolting!

WCMUT was Screwfix (where I have a £10 off £50 spend or more voucher) was closed when I tried to buy something so carried on to Toolstation (where I had a £5 off £40 spend or more). Since I only needed £45 worth of stuff, I would have boosted the Screwfix spend with a want or 2 but the need spend was £43 so didn't need to spend an extra £7 to save the extra fiver. Made perfect sense at 07:30! The motor factor was still closed as I was coming back so couldn't get any pressure washer car shampoo though. Means I don't have to wash the cars!
