WCMUT....what cheered me up today

WCMUT was a follow up letter after my (up to know) annual MRI scan telling me that a) there was no sign of any recurrence and b) that I won't have another until March 2026 and that will (hopefully!) be the last one.

Just got back home from another stay in hospital, fell down the stairs banging my head and woke up in hospital had another heart attack while having a shunt put in my head to drain the build up of fluid. So yet another long journey for me again, have to take things really slow as have stitches in the back of my head so feel sorry for my self as I now have a stent in place.

Sorry to hear that Dave, good to hear you're home, take care (y)

Glad you're on the mend again, Dave.

I can still remember the (REALLY!) weird sensation of having the drain pulled out of my skull. Having the staples out was nearly as much fun!

WCMUT was confirmation that our transfer from the airport in a couple of weeks has been confirmed.

Sorry to hear you've been in the wars again Dave. GWS buddy....

Having been given a load of courgettes on Thursday, I converted them into "kolokithokefthedakia" - little courgette fritters. Went down very well for lunch!

WCMUT was originally a slight WAMT - a message from the NHS telling me I had an appointment while we are away, at a time I wouldn't (easily) have been able to make, even if we were in the country. The CMUT was rearranging it for the day after tomorrow, at a very convenient time so it'll all be done and dusted before the off! Can't remember how the eyes feel after this check but since it's a mid-afternoon appointment, it won't mess up a whole day, even if I can't see much after it.

I am pleased that you are getting sorted - unbelievable that you called and spoke with someone let alone got booked in sooner than expected. I was due in for some minor surgery last March and still waiting for that appointment after a delay and postponement from the previous October. If called them I doubt I'd have gotten through to the answering service and not holding my breath that I'll be seen before October this year. Usually we call, leave a message and after a delay they email us a survey.

Loads of cancellations at the moment - for tests, at least! The specialised clinics I deal with are pretty good. Both deal with long term conditions (diabetes and glaucoma) and they keep on top of those.

The annual blood tests (glucose/cholesterol and whatever else) have gone by the board, too.

Not here.

Picked ,my car up from the garage today, that dreaded MOT time and a full service
I mentioned when I dropped it off that I needed to get to get the aircon checked, he said he'd do it if I wanted
So now everything works and the bill for all that plus checking the tracking came to just under £400 :D

I bought an item from Amazon recently, less than a fiver,
it didn't work as it should have, I started a return, I got a message saying my refund was being processed as usual.
But with a note saying no need to return.
That'll save me a trip to the "Parcel shop" (y)

LOTS of blackberries at various points around the course. Meant I could have several gobfulls (gobs full?) without holding up proceedings!

Walking my temp foster dog and a man come walking in the opposite direction with his dog, he suddenly called me by name !!!
Turns out that around 40 years ago when my ex husband was a scout leader he was one of the scouts, I used to transport them and sometimes
join then with dogs on hikes
We chatted for a while about practical jokes they used play and what fun it was, but I still can't beleive that after all that time a 12/13 year old could still recognise me

You must have made a good & strong positive impact on him when he was a lad, such that he would recognise you :)

What(will) Cheer Me Up Today.

Its gonna be awfully quiet around here in about 20 minutes,
And also a perfect time to go shopping :)

WCMUT?
I was spot on, the car parks were less than 1/4 capacity, and the shops, hardly anyone in the 3 I needed (y)

I was planning a quick ride but just as I was putting the armoured jeans on, the heavens opened! Mrs Nod said that town was quite busy.

No rain here and none predicted for a few days.
I think we've had our share for this year :D

Woman’s World Cup over, tv back to normal, well after a couple of days wailing and gnashing of teeth, and another day nearer the rugby World Cup in France.

Stopped raining just as Mrs Nod got home, so we could take her toy out for a quick topless blast.

Thank god you didn't omit that word :D

If it’s raining just go quicker!, over 30 mph the rain goes over our heads, although I probably wouldn’t’t go out with roof down but if out we don’t stuck the roof up at drizzle etc.
Clear frosty moonlit nights are really good for roof down action, and everyone else is off the road.

Someone came up to me and said that they knew me from about 30 years ago. I said that I could not have changed much and he just said "No you always were old looking"

Moved house in May and I'm now in the middle of bringing it into the 21st centaury, so in a bit of a mess and the house is full of tradespeople through the week. No that's not what's cheering me up but this is went to a local beach for a walk at the weekend and saw this

along with a few of it's friends.

For several days there has been a dog-poo like smell in the garage. I thought I'd brought some in on my shoe. I was unable to locate any on the garage floor, nevertheless I got a bowl of hot water with added Flash and washed the garage floor. As soon as the Flash smell went the poo smell returned. A dead mouse maybe ? I checked behind items on the garage floor against the wall. I took every item off the shelves. Nothing. My wife even suggested it could be the silage smell we get now and then when the wind blows from the east..the direction of a farm. After all that work the smell was still there. I wanted to double-check the top shelves and that's when I found the source. An ice pack. For anyone who has one of these small thick plastic ice bags that are used to apply to swellings and injured muscles just keep it in the freezer.

I was advised to put one on my shoulder re my rotator-cuff pain. It eventually healed so rather than take room in the freezer I took it out and left it on the top shelf in the garage for possible future use. Unfortunately, the water in that bag had putrefied. Who'd have thought it ?

So WCMUT ? Finding that bag and the garage now looks very tidy and clean :)

My daughter, first week back at school over, after the summer holidays. She's moved up to Academy now (S1), so a whole new school, new people etc etc. We expected dramas but none of it, she's been a trooper. As well as cheering me up, it makes me proud.
