I rate clotted cream a touch above creme freche. That is to say that if the worlds supply was dropped to the bottom of the Mariana Trench id be happy for clotted cream to lay on top.

I’m a big fan of clotted cream (and home made jam) but not in any circumstances the two together. Not so keen on most scones either -- taste too much of baking powder usually.

They must be very small scones, I struggle to bite into half a scone when it's spread with jam and cream let alone a whole one.

I just don't understand CHEESE scones! Treacle are good but the butter must be thick enough to leave teeth marks. Wifes makes smaller scones (almost mouth sized) so we just have two, or three at a time. More butter and cream req'd.

Rhubarb jam then, since you are not too far from the ‘triangle’ to get supplies or rhubarb & ginger for two non fruits in one,

Isn't there rose petal jam? Though I think it probably contains lemons or something.

Went to a place called Woburn Forest Growers to get a specific plant that Mrs F had ben after. Most of the place was closed off and the rest was threadbare, but she somehow managed to find what she was looking for. It was priced at £1q0 and she picked a couple more plants before going to the till. After looking at the trolley, the guy charged us £3 so she went and got another one foe £1. Turns out today was their last day of trading until March 2023. Talk abut right place, right time!

Hippy Burp day

I'm not a hippy! (WAY too little hair these days!!!) No comment re the burping!

Decided that next year, I shall have my last ever haircut and shave - down to the skin above the neck (NO WAY will I go BS&C!!!) but I might just keep growing the beard and #1 hair when necessary.

Possibly more to the point, 6th of September sees me at 10 years in the fresh life given (back) to me by Mr Haden (who gets thanked every day.)

My wife said she was going to make some ice cream today. "We don't have an ice cream maker" I said,. "I don't need one "she said. It couldn't be easier and it tastes great. I keep going to it in the freezer and nicking some Now, I know, from what I've read on here that Alan's wife...Mrs WW.. is an ice cream specialist and I think she has a machine..Alan ??

For a small plastic sandwich box full:

Use half a 387mg tin of Carnation condensed milk and a 300ml-sized pot of double cream. Pour both into a bowl. Use electric hand mixer or one of the large ones and blend until as thick as porridge. That's it. Put it in the freezer. For a larger amount use the whole tin of Carnation milk and 2 X 300ml double cream pots. We add strawberries/raspberries when we come to eat it.

If anyone tries this could you post how it was ?
