Why is that a good thing? As of today I don`t have to wear my mask on the bus anymore, just got my exemption card through the post![]()
CoolWCMUT?
Just how much a bloke in a shed can do. Got a couple of Z1 engines and fancy a 6 cylinder motor? No problem and it'll help pass the time during lockdown!

Kawasaki Z1 Super Six
I started making my Kawasaki Z1 1396cc Super Six on the 17th December 2019. These videos show how i made parts of the engine and some details on the bike. Im...www.youtube.com
He's also done a V12 using a couple of Z1300 blocks, not to mention a V twin using a couple of barrels from an old radial engine. And other stuff!

Why is that a good thing?
These exemption certificates are a load of old cobblers akin to all the vague reasons some people have a service mutt.
Because when I`m on the bus in this heat I struggle to breathe.
If you have smoked for a long while and just given up it will get much worse, trust me.
All the old crap will start working its way out and that's apart from all the mental grief
Consider yourself lucky you only suffer from asthma then, because you'd obviously turn down any help you could get with any other problems wouldn't you? I think not!
I won't insult you as it's against forum rules, but for coming out with a statement like that you most certainly deserve it.![]()
Insult away, I do regularly, best warn you though I won't care
I doubt you'd understand the words I would use.
The only person I see who should be embarrassed around here is the first person who's earned a place on my ignore list.
Be careful you don't skin your knuckles on the way home later . . .
I should add I would never ever class a seeing eye dog as a dodgy service mutt
They can and should be allowed anywhere
And what do you see as a dodgy service mutt?
For example a "Comfort" dog I saw in the supermarket, no idea what it was comforting.
Poor thing nearly got strangled and trampled under foot/wheel, it was tethered to a wheelchair and didn't look at all happy.
Can't speak for the one you saw but comfort or emotional support dogs are invaluable to there owners, nothing "dodgy" about them at all. i know two people who have them and they make a hell of a difference to their lives.
How about the exemption certificate, getting glossed over a bit?
Are you Scottish? These exemption certificates are a load of old cobblers akin to all the vague reasons some people have a service mutt.
Fair enough if a doctor certified it, but no proof needed other the applicants say so
I'm asthmatic too, but haven't been left gasping for breath with a mask on.
Plus I have some rather snazzy ones to share with the general public

Stopped smoking last week but had asthma as a child, then working with asbestos for so many years did my lungs right in.
Happy to smoke up till last week with asthma but won't wear a mask on the bus because of asthma... I imagine one is a lot worse for you
I am pretty sure In the Covid thread he was calling everyone who went to the beach dirty scum as they only think of themselves, yet happy to go out and about potentially infecting people!!!
I would rather be on a packed beach in the open than on a bus or in a shop with someone without a mask!!!
I don't know if this actually cheered me up but it did lead to a warm feeling with a touch of pride in my long gone dad.
We were watching the VJ program on BBC and they showed a Burma Star so I got my dads medals out and had a look at them, Burma Star amongst them.
He was in the navy. He volunteered and lied about his age as he was too young. Also he couldn't swim so a friend fiddled the test for him. What they had to do was swim a length and then get their ID card stamped. The card had a picture on it and as dads mate placed it down to be stamped he covered the picture with his fingers. It worked. Dad very rarely spoke about the war and even threw his medals away but mam retrieved them from the bin and I've had them ever since. He used to have a small case full of stuff including lots of photographs but that disappeared years before he died, presumably thrown out when no one was looking. I'd love to have those pictures now and I'd love to know more about what he did in WW2.
Anyway. To all those who fought in the far east and indeed anywhere else.
Thanks for that Christopher. I have no idea about his service number as the only record I have are his medals. I'll have a look at the box and everything inside and see if it's there.
I do know he served on smaller ships such as minesweepers and submarine chasers, as he called them, and did convoy duty in the Atlantic and around Africa (as he called them) and also had a stint on motor patrol boats. I'll see what I can find.
