WBMT?
Tracking a delivery .....
I have an Amazon delivery imminent or so it seems, as its just 2 stops away, but currently in a town 10 miles away

We get that occasionally - we're just off the first road in town as you come into town from one direction so, if we're the first in-town drop, it can easily be a 10 mile trip since the last one.

it can easily be a 10 mile trip since the last one.
But you live in the sticks, I live in a town that has aspirations of being a city :D

Not quite in the sticks, just close to them! And although I always call it "town", it's a proper city with a cathedral AND a university. :P

There are plenty of cities WITHOUT a cathedral.
We have 2 universities here, the open university and the university of life (y)

Just to be clear, although he was still 2 stops away, when he was "just around the corner" he did make it within the designated hour slot :)

Baffled : So last night I set the burglar alarms as normal and at some point I took my glasses off ( i do have spare )spent 1 hour looking yet I just can't find them still looking they have to be in the house .

Rob.

found them , they had fallen between to chairs .

I did something similar yesterday.
I was in very large B&Q, took my reading glasses out of my pocket to inspect something more closely.
Took them off, gathered up my goods and went to check out.
Got back to the car and realised they weren't in my pocket! b****r!

Went back into the store, to the last place I had bought something "Maybe I'd put them on the shelf?"
But no, started looking around and suddenly noticed I'd tucked them inside my top, you know one arm inside.
What a donut

I've never put my specs on to look for my specs. Honest!!! :banghead:

At least they weren't on your head ...

I lost a pillow case when changing the beds and I still haven't found it.

It's not on the floor, it's not in the washer and it's not in the dryer and it wasn't inside the duvet cover.

Mrs WW lost a sock and found it inside the slot the filter fits in in the dryer so I assume she took the washing out with one hand and the filter with the other (we clean the filter every time we use the dyer) and it fell in... but the same couldn't happen with a pillow case as they're too big... but I checked anyway and it wasn't there.

I think a ghostie took it.

That wouldn't help me, I couldn't see, mine are little more than magnifiers for reading / close up work.
Anything beyond that is blurry with them on.

Although that seems a common place to put them, actually I never have done that.

Just Juan sheet?

What a dramatic, riveting and dynamic life you lead, Alan. :)

I find that’s commonly the problem with lost things — they often turn up in places I would never put them :)

One of our cats was nicknamed "the Helper", as in "ask the helper where she's put it". Nothing small enough to be gripped by her jaws was safe! :naughty:

When my wife loses her mobile in the house she phones it on the landline and quickly retrieves it :D
Of course. And you can use “Tiles” or “Airtags” for other things.

Mine is on silent 99% of the time, that kinda buggers that up :D

How can a company as big as DHL have an app that doesn't work properly!?!?

Email notice last Thursday evening of a package to be delivered on Friday with a link to their app, the app allows me to redirect to a pickup location which will be more convenient. Redirection accepted by the app with dropoff on Friday, a DHL bod turns up at my home with the package at 2pm. I was out of course.

Now the app says delivery to the pickup location by the end of Monday so obviously another DHL bod tried to deliver it to my home a 2pm on Saturday. I was out of course.

Email on Monday 8.15 stating my package will be delivered to the pickup location today, guess where I will be a 2pm this afternoon...

This package took 11 hours from dispatch in the Netherlands to arrival in Leeds and three days plus (if it arrives today) to make the last seven miles.

"Int technology brilliant!"

Putting my Ocado order together and looking for peas

M&S Garden Peas Frozen 750g - £1.60
M&S Garden Peas Frozen 1.25kg - £1.35

And no, the 1.25kg bag isn't on offer.
Often notice that larger quantities are cheaper in supermarkets, then occasionally it's better to buy two small packs that work out better than the family" pack, it's to keep on you're toes and them to make more money when you make cost assumptions.

Mrs Nod's phone makes a noise when she uses the "Find You Phone" function on her smart watch. Her phone's always set to silent but the watch vibrates when she gets a call/text/e-mail etc..

I can imagine you sat smoking your pipe while the wife does the household chores John.

Pipe ? Not me ,Alan. :) Housework is a pain so we have someone in to do that. We have a dishwasher..doesn't everyone ? and a window cleaner.

So you can imagine me in a more accurate way...we all must wonder sometimes what each other is like.

Don't smoke. Don't drink alcohol. Like everything in order, everything has its place. My wife...wow if she heard me call her 'the wife' you wouldn't see me on here unless I could get a good wi-fi signal from the hospital :D She's chef. (to call her a cook would be doing her a disservice).I prepare all veg. I do the work in the garden but she's director of operations re plants, hanging baskets and mangers. I'm I/C the cars . She finds us top accommodation for hotels at great prices (none since Covid, sadly) and accommodation for hols. I think that covers most things. Oh..forgot. She tells me what to wear and when it needs replacing and she sorts that ,too :D

Obviously she doesn’t get to choose your trousers though because obviously … they are unavailable to you!!! :exit:

2pm came and went without sign of a DHL bod but a text 30 minutes later from a crew called InPost said the package was available for collection, when I got there the screen on the locker bank said "Press Ctrl & Alt & Del to reboot Windows 7 embedded". Five minutes on hold to the helpline and another five for the locker to reboot and I got my package, an hour after that the DHL app on my phone announced the package was delivered to my home address at 9.40 this morning.

Outstanding!

I did.....:)

Airtags. I think we'll stick to using the landline at this price. You could put one on a cat :D

For example:

Not much good on a cat but I do use both on the dog sometimes to find where she is in the garden/house though they are specifically not recommended for that.

Expensive? It depends ….say one was with your camera backpack containing £KKK, it might be handy to know where it had gonehttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Tile-Bluetooth-finding-Android-Compatible/dp/B09998MBFM/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2XYVM6A1MH9S5&keywords=tile+tracker&qid=1637615533&sprefix=Tile%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExRjgzRzc3MzVYWEJLJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjYzNDA2MUJQUDlWWEJHRlQ1NSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNzc2ODMyMjUyOVhJSllXSjUwWCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=.

function on her smart watch.
Its a shame the phone isn't smart or Mrs N wouldn't lose it :D

We have a dishwasher..doesn't everyone ?
I never saw the point in washing things twice ;)
Scraps get rinsed down the macerator and then washed in the sink

Very true! TBH though, she's only needed it once and that was because it had slipped down into the bowels of the sofa. Had to get a screwdriver out to exhume it!

Didn't know they were washed twice. I'll mention it :)

So you can now put dried on gravy stains and all sorts of gunk laden plates straight in the dishwasher?
I take it it handles potato and left over bits of chop (etc) well then?

They have certainly come a long way since the days of scraping / rinsing before putting them in the dishwasher. (y)
