I had daily dropouts with BT, at least 12 engineers out to try and sovle the issue over several yearsBT yet again
Apparently the fastest way to get a response to a phone or BB issue is to text help to the number supplied.
Yet again, I had several drop off's this morning, in the space of 2 hours.
Normally my BB is around 33mbs & 6.7mbs.
following the drop offs it was 11mbs & 3mbs.
I text help to number, and the response was "its all fine, it must be your internal wiring" ( this was all renewed a few months ago)
A speed test about half an hour later shows 37mbs ( it shouldn't be that high 35mbs max according to the engineer I was talking to, while he replaced all the internal wiring. )
and up 6.7mbs.
Curiously this is the second time in recent months
I have had to text "help"
The second time I was told there was no external problem
The second time it "sorted itself out" about half an hour later![]()
Fibre to cabinet sorted a lot of the problems, new cable both internal and from the road side box to property sorted most of the rest.I had daily dropouts with BT, at least 12 engineers out to try and sovle the issue over several years
Is no one else allowed to have a birthday in Oct / Nov / Dec ?
Yep first frost of the season white cars this morning.Predicted temps over night, here, around mid 30's oF
When I was kid in Glasgow, I was advised to stay as far away from "dour Edinburgh" as possible. I deny this is the reason I have lived in Devon for the last fifty years....It's getting a bit chilly in Edinburgh but no frost yet, more cold, wet and miserable.

Apparently, the place furthest from Edinburgh on the globe is Papatowai (South Island, NZ), so you still have a bit more to do. It looks lovely. When I was kid in Glasgow, I was advised to stay as far away from "dour Edinburgh" as possible. I deny this is the reason I have lived in Devon for the last fifty years....![]()
Regrets, I have a few...so you still have a bit more to do.
Indeed. My father came from Glasgow, I grew up in Stirling and went to univeristy in Edinburgh. Left the UK after I graduated and moved to Hong Kong, which is nearly as far away you can get, then to South Africa for 30 odd years. Wound up back in Edinburgh through a combination of circumstances, which I'm not going to go into now, but SA and the sun still call me back ...When I was kid in Glasgow, I was advised to stay as far away from "dour Edinburgh" as possible. We had the same problem this morning, looking for a Wedding card for our son & his partner. Most of the shelf space is now devoted to winter 'Seasonal' greetings cardsWBMT?
Actually it could also be a WAMT.
Tesco's earlier today, food shop, plus I needed a couple of birthday cards.
I went upstairs to these aisles ..
They were busily stripping the gondola's of these items and replacing them withChrist Xmacards.
you know that thing when some bloke was apparently born.

I ordered something and the courier said they'd delivered it but there was no delivery photo which I thought suspicious, I was in all day and didn't get it. I contacted the courier but they didn't reply so I contacted the supplier and they said they'd sort it out or send a replacement and sure enough a week later the item came. Since then I've received endless messages from the supplier and the courier saying another is on its way to me and I've sent endless messages back saying that I got the original, very late but it did come, and they don't owe me anything, But the messages just keep coming and the courier says the item (the second) is on its way to me.
I'm on the verge of giving up. No one seems to care that this is a duplicate item and they don't owe me anything, I'm think of keeping it for a few months and seeing if they ask for it back or try and charge me.
What would you do?
Just got another email, that's 3 today. AFTER I said again that they don't owe me anything!!!
If it comes I think it can sit on top of a wardrobe until they ask for it back or bill me. If they don't it'll be a spare in case the original conks.
It’s officially (officially :lol)the day after the 4th Thursday in November, so next week Friday 25th and Cyber Monday is the following Monday.WBMT?
Well all week TBH.
"Black Friday" started on Monday, and seems that some so called offers are not available
until the coming Monday ...
Except next Friday is the 26th4th Thursday in November, so next week Friday 25th and Cyber Monday is the following Monday.
Oops! It’s also complicated because Canada and several others have Thanksgivings but on different days.Except next |Friday is the 26th![]()
Our Black Friday is pure marketing and could be any time but works because people have vaguely heard about it,
As per my comment, that went out the window some time ago, as it started last Monday. It’s officially (officially :lol)the day after the 4th Thursday in November, so next week Friday 25th and Cyber Monday is the following Monday.
ExactlyI can never work out what all the fuss is about, if I don't need what's on offer I don't buy it
I’ve just had an email from Sainsburys to say I can’t bookings Festivus (alt US name) deliveries)As per my comment, that went out the window some time ago, as it started last Monday.
Not as bad as Chri... xma.... that thing that is supposed to start no earlier than Dec
Starting August bank holiday!
I mean come on, I doubt that Mary had even told Joseph she is pregnant.
Yes I know, but most people accept it as "fact"Dec 25th has nothing to do with that pregnancy, no connection at all!
Apparently Tesco had about an hour on-line queue for festive booking slots when they released them recentlyI’ve just had an email from Sainsburys to say I can’t bookings Festivus (alt US name) deliveries)
