Clear cmos. Restart, check all cables .disconnect drives.
Try one memory stick.

Grr just rebuilt it all again and no change! Getting annoyed and worried now...
Does it matter which slot I put the ram in?
Won't be home again until this evening but I think that might be the best idea.
The CPU fan spins and stays on.
As do all the case fans and video card.
I removed the CPU last night, all the pins look fine. I'll put it in again tonight and reapply thermal paste.
Could it be an error with the video card, even though it powers?
It used to play up sometimes in my current system when booting up. Diagnostic lights said it was the video card. Reset pc and it worked fine.

Try powering up the motherboard without the graphics card, just to see if it beeps![]()
Ben: said:Found the problem!
It was the graphics card!
Tried another one from my dads pc and it's works! Woo!!
Thanks for all your help guys! And yes the motherboard doesn't beep.
Although its gone a little off topic... Can you recommend me a new graphics card? Hadn't intended on ANY gaming but I am now... So something that can handle some of the latest games? Budget- low as possible lol
Ben: said:Ok after some thought, it's pointless building a high spec pc and then putting an 'ok' graphics card in.
So firstly, does any one here use their custom build for gaming?
What gpu do you use/reccomend?
The aim is to get one that can play BF3 on high/ultra settings.
I'll try and stretch the budget if the card is worth it.
Please help
- This seems good, great price too http://www.ebuyer.com/254405-asus-gtx-560ti-directcu-ii-1gb-gddr5-dual-dvi-mini-hdmi-pci-e-engtx560-ti-dcii-2di-1gd5
The new AMD 7950 is being released this week so prices of graphics cards should drop.
A lot of people are selling their nVidia 580's for £250 - £280 second hand @ the moment on different forums.
There are lots of builds on OCuk forum that can give you inspiration.
This is something I have been working on

piggin said:Ben, I would just have the CPU in your loop.
If you intend adding the GPU later, you could have problems.
The GPU that you have purchased is a non reference version, so no full face water block is manufactured for it.
You would have to fit a block over the GPU chip & add extra RAM coolers to all the other parts of the PCB.
You would also have to add another rad & your pump will not produce enough pressure to pump the water around two block, two rads & all the pipework.
Hey Paul thanks for taking the time to reply
I was considering a universal fit GPU cooler so I can reuse it in the future. (these are available aren't they?)
I could buy a better pump to start with. But if you think i'd need an extra rad and others bits for the video card then maybe its best to just stick with the CPU.
Some spec for CPU water cooling...
CPU Waterblock
Radiator
Fans x3 (any better/quieter you can recommend?)
Reservoir
Pump
Compression Fittings x8?
Tubing
How does this look? Anything I should change for better?
I heard about not contaminating metals by using 1 type for all parts, I've done this I think haven't I? lol
Decided on white tubing and I'll add a UV light in the case somewhere.
Like the look of compression fittings, and they're more secure it would seem.
Thanks for any advice![]()
You will need anther rad if you put the GPU into the loop.
As for the pump, I prefer a DDC pump with an after market top.
But that's just my opinion

As for a pump, the DDC is one of the best

I would fit this top on the pump, as it acts as a res + it gets more out of the pump. Also covers a very small foot print.
