WAMT....what annoyed me today!

I find that I clear up after other neighbours and dustmen also. People seem to forget that they also live on the Close and it is much nicer if it is looked after.

That said I realised that I was ‘that’ neighbour earlier. The house next to ours is empty waiting for the new owners to move in. It is green bin day tomorrow and I cut my grass and also theirs as it is just a small strip just the other side of our driveway and took no time at all. Turned out they were actually in the house without me knowing and thought that I was being critical of them - so a great start. If you do something you thought would be neighbourly nice and it goes bad….

We should live next door to each other...lol. That must have been a bit embarrasing. I'm sure they would have been ok when they realised you thought the house was empty.

As you see from my photo we have grass verges between the run-ins off the road to the driveways. The council cut them five times a year so you can imagine how long the grass grows. Used to be once a month before austerity and cuts to council budgets years ago. On one side I've seen three sets of neighbours and the front is block-paved so they have no need to take their lawnmowew to the front and if it's electric the lead wouln't be long enough, anyway. I've alwyas waited until I see them on the front and moan about the council and offer to do 'their' verge..its the Council's..as it's a bind flo them. They have all been pleased. I got Lindt chocolates now and again from one neighbour..lol. The other side is the same..no lawn but small thin slate stones and the chap was more than pleased when I said I didn't mind doing it when I did mine. He used to do it when he had a lawn. As you say, it takes all of a minute but what a difference. Of course, neighbours further along see our verges and most do theirs. One doesn't but it's rented and tenants just don't care.

Watermarked Wedding images!

I can uderstand a watermark in a corner, but if they are sold to the client (my cousin in this case), why would someone smack watermarks all over the images, they are across faces!!

1) That bloody herons back, and managed to pull half a fish through the netting.
Obviously the fish is dead :(

2) DPD driver pulled up outside, within the allotted time slot, ( which has now past) and drove off again :(

Its now 1.5 hours outside the latest time, I'm betting its "Lost" :(
Our driver is running a little behind and should be with you shortly

Oh no that’s not good, i had to net our pond last year because of one of those things

WAMT is a wasted afternoon. Had pupil dilating eye drops at lunch time so need a darkened room (monitor turned right down!) for a few hours.

I had a very strong net over the pond, 1 inch mesh, I covered that with a fine net as the heron could get its beak through, and stab and kill fish.
It tore through the fine mesh and still stabbed and half pulled a fish through it.
Plan C coming up, and nothing I'm prepared to share.

If Amazon will probably be down as “handed to resident” later.
Sadly, as above, it was a marketplace purchase delivery by dpd.
I should have looked more closely, I wouldn't have bought had I checked :(

Lost several fish and then a heron "spiked" my pond liner! Managed to save three fish in a bucket but the pond was toast! Gave the three fish to a ponded neighbour and filled in the pond for good!

It's like groundhog day here, the parcel is (Back?) in the MK depot and will be delivered today ( no time slot)
Its saying exactly the same as it did yesterday morning, except the names of the driver has changed.
What's the chance of Marian being better than Stephen?

….it may come. It’ll be all the better for being well travelled and having seen a bit more of the world athough Milton Keynes may not be a place I’d choose other other locations - all those roundabouts in the back of a van

I've more chance of seeing Jesus before his 2023rd birthday TBH.
Once "next day" deliveries fail to turn up I know they are lost.
Even though the DPD & Amazon distribution centers are both less than 5 miles away.

WAMT was one group of 6 children, each with a football which they couldn't just hold - they had to keep bouncing them. In an enclosed courtyard which echoed every boing. Why take footballs to a wildlife centre, anyway?

Take joy that they were not all sitting in a line staring at their phones.
...but if they're staring at their phones, they're not being noisy and they just might be learning something useful! :naughty:

Take joy that they were not all sitting in a line staring at their phones. At least there was interaction and exercise.

The 2 women with the brats were on their phones with ear buds in...

Okay, you were officially annoyed with good reason!

I'm amazed that at least two adults and 6 kids can afford to go on a day out then not enjoy the point of the day. Perhaps someone had had enough and decided to drop them so that their day would improve?

TBH, had it occurred to me that it's school holidays, we probably wouldn't have gone to the place! I try to follow the advice given on boxes of matches, lighters and laundry detergent - "KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN"!

It USED to annoy me that retired folk go shopping and clog up Tescos over a weekend until I got old. Now I realise it is a spite thing and happily do it myself.
I deliberately avoid weekends, too many people

WAM.. People shopping and crowding up the shops when they should be at work :D

I forgot how big my workshop is. It needed a lick of treatment/paint. It's not paint as such, it's that watery stuff, not the stuff from Home Bargains and the like, it's the good stuff that custom built huts get when new, pre delivery. It's like a stain but water repellant, rain beads on it when dry.

One end and a side done, with not too many problems. The front end though, oh dear, it just sucked the stuff up and this after 3 previous treatments over the years.

I'll need more treatment, at wait for it, £25 a litre. :$ It is worth it though, saves time and money in the long run.

Annoying as I'd hoped to tick the job off the 'to do' list today but there's still one side to go, and then the roof straps.

I don't do heights, so I may be back tomorrow, I may not.

Rabbit holes, gotta love 'em.

It's raining, only light but I probably shouldn't be climbing onto a workshop roof just now. I'm not sure if this is annoying or not.

Strange. We have this bright yellow thing in a blue sky today and the pavement is not wet. Probably only temporary.

We had ours yesterday, it also started off as a heavy drizzle and devloped into a monsoon. ( well not really but it looked like it with the dancing rain on the road and roofs )
Still, the pond is nicely topped up, today clear blue sky, and low to mid 20's

Rain stopped here but we still have dark, heavy clouds, with sunshine. It's suprisingly warm

Workshop roof is now dry too, I suppose I'd best get up there after lunch.

Annoyed.

So was this resolved?

It looks like I won't be seeing Jesus on or before his birthday :D
Replacement sent, and it arrive in good time.

I'm down off the workshop roof. I was on it for about a minute, no likey.

Heights, spiders and cows, eessh. :runaway:

Slightly annoyed that I only managed about 99% of the job.

COWS on the shed roof?
