WAMT....what annoyed me today!

I/we have pancakes a couple of times a week. Eggless ones :D

Mrs WW likes tiny pancakes just a few inches across which she makes Nutella sarnies with.

Maybe. Instead of a pancake which fills the bottom of the pan she gets 7 small ones. She usually eats them with syrup and fruitbread or an omelet but lately shes been smothering one with Nutella and placing another on top.

I like pancake sandwiches, that's a pancake between two slices of buttered bread.

Each to their own :D

Looking at those blinis the difference seems to be that my pancake mix is thicker, I make mine with self raising flour, yoghurt, milk, cider vinegar and Tabasco source.

Traffic and rain! Took me 4 hours and 25 minutes to get from Oxford back to Rossendale. 180 miles almost all of it on motorways. Only took 3 hours 25 minutes to get there.

Leaving my hearing aid batteries in my other trousers. Strange how isolating it was, even though I swapped the battery from the less bad ear to the one that went flat. Set of spares now in the car for the next time it happens!
 
Spare batteries in both cars, my glasses case and herself’s handbag, be prepared even if I was never a Boy Scout.

WAMT was another hearing aid SNAFU but far simpler and again 100% my own stupid fault! While we were stuck in a traffic jam 1/2 way to Mrs Nod's Mum's residence, I realised that my hearing aids were a mile or so behind us, sitting in their overnight spot beside the bed... Since going back to get them would mean sitting in the same traffic jam to get home and then again to get to where we were going, I decided to live without them. Luckily, our plans didn't involve noisy places so I managed to hear reasonably well. (Like many, my hearing loss is mailnly in the upper register so I tend to lose sibilants [or "ibilant" as that sounds without the helpers!!!] and lip reading helps me to fill them in. Sometimes!!!)

I've had some side affects from new meds I was given over Christmas for my illness and it seems to be returning :headbang:

Starting to really miss buggering about with cameras now

The BTO.....

They posted a job on their Facebook page that basically said you had to be 18-25, with an ethnic background, or a disability.

Now I get positive discrimination, but I thought was illegal to state an age range or ethnicity on a job proposal......

I also noticed that the post has now been deleted, so I'm guessing a number of people complained.....
 
Well sort AMT

Reading that Ken Bruce is leaving Radio2.....he has been my/a staple of my morning radio listening for longer than I care to remember.

Having said that I know times change but I hope that slot is not given to Rylan or Claudia, or it will have to be more R3 or Classic FM.........for their calming influence;)

He kept me company through 1000's of miles work, before I retired.
Plus I loved playing pop master (y)
Although now I don't listen to the radio anywhere near as much as I did back then.

Apparently he "owns" Popmaster as he will be doing it at his new job @ Greatest Hits Radio and FWIW I have found it on my DAB radio to see what I think of it when he starts in April 3rd

Yes, even at 71yo he IIRC spoke of new opportunities to carry on.

PS he specifically said that the decision was his alone to leave.......all too many older "names" were pushed out (Moira Stewart to name one).....and as he has the highest listener numbers of any R2 show I surmise that R2 were not too pleased about him going!
 
From what I've seen, R2 were a bit surprised that he (KB) owns Popmaster rather than it being theirs! He is/was the only reason to listen to R2, although I have my car on R6Music these days.
 
Shame Steve Wright got the elbow though, he was a must when I was in the van, and we often listened to his show on BBC Sounds.
 
After my saying he was going to Greatest Hits Radio, in post above, I looked at their website and talk about a whole raft of older knowledgeable 'names' from Radio 2!

My era for music and radio DJ's :)

Never been much of a radio listener apart from Tommy Vance and the Friday Rock Show at 10.00 pm.

I suspect the BBC have been hoisted by their own petard on the IP front…if you employ someone it’s quite clear-cut, if you prefer to pay them as contractors it is less clear cut, plus would it be worth the PR storm for a small feature on a radio show (not that I would say that in front of your average warehouse or factory production team…)

I remember Chris Moyles laughing at one point because he was paid to write his shows jingles, and was then paid a royalty each time he played one…

If he is indeed "taking it with him to his new commercial radio job" it is likely IP but his not the BBC ;)
 
I can't find a suitable radio station these days so its my favourites on Spotify from phone through car. My own 60s, 70s, 80,s, 90s rave.
My lads (30 & 32) love it.

Although the one I buy has done away with the cardboard centre, and increased the size.
I know this because it just about fits on the holder.

If you want to eat bacon or chicken etc fine, but find a new name for the product, a couple of times I’ve picked up no meat products when in a rush in the supermarket- you got to be through the till before 22.00 hours with the booze.
 
ASDA deodorant used to be 50-odd p then it went to 80-odd p and today it's £1 but I think still the cheapest option. I thought inflation was 15% but coming down?
 
Bought a new card reader, which arrived yesterday. I knew I had one here but couldn't find it anywhere and as I needed it, I got the new one. So this morning, I'm routing through a drawer looking for something else and yep, right there in front of me, the old card reader :headbang:. I'm £22 down but at least I have a spare. :LOL:
