WAMT....what annoyed me today!

<--- Dudley hates Fireworks, they went on for well over an hour last night, we are nowhere near any official displays so must have been families, did the cost of living crisis disappear all of a sudden.

fireworks too one of our cats was very frightened and hid all night (they are indoor cats ):(

Taking down the Christmas decorations!

The bloke who lives opposite.

I have three cars and never leave any on the road. He has two cars and always parks one smack opposite our drive which can make getting a car out of our drive difficult, it's a narrow road. For years he's done this but it's annoying me more by the day. He leaves the other car just in the drive and never pulls it down any further which of course is why he doesn't have room for the other one.

Why don't people who have ample off road parking use it?

Many years ago a drunk driver came down the road and hit several cars and for a few weeks after that it was bliss as people put their cars in their drives. I sort of wish that'd happen more often :D

I used to have that problem the guy was a total arse in so many ways, he's no longer there and the people opposite only have one car.
But I never understand people leaving a car in the road, when there is room on the drive.
Plenty still do it here though.

Even worse are those that have more cars than space on their own drive/front garden!

They spill out on the road and their visitors park on the pavement and cause minor damage to street furniture (designed to stop grass verge parking) plus obstruction of the fire hydrant point. It seems to be repeat 'offenders' some of whom I have had polite words with and they start again all too soon :headbang:

The added annoyance is that there is normally some parking more considerately about 50 yards walk away !!!! Talk about forget what their b***dy legs are for

I park my car on the road outside my house (I don't block or hinder anyone else). I have a drive that is on a 15 degree slope with walls either side and there is just enough room to get the car on it and get one door open (not both sides). I have a garage where I keep my motorcycles and if I park on the drive I can't get a bike out also if I didn't park in the road someone else wouls and them I'd have nowhere close to move the car to when I want a bike out.

I'm sure that some people have a legitimate reason, but its those with half empty drives and no restrictions like yours, that
park on the road, that I'm talking about.
It just doesn't make sense to me.

Its pretty inevitable as families increase and their kids grow.
But at least they should think about parking courteously.

:agree: Parking around me is horrendous, If I move my car for a minute someone parks there even though we are a small village and most people know I park there and why. These days when I go out in the car I drop a bike there to keep my space. It's a pain but better than getting home to find someone parked there.

I must admit if I was in your position, so to speak, I'd do the same.

Granted but in the case of the neighbour I am thinking of AFAIK there are normally 3 adults in residence but there 7 vehicles (might be 8?) So when visitors come there can be up to 3 cars parked on the pavement.

Of the 7 vehicles I mentioned 6 of them are owned by 2 people. It used be 9-10 vehicles but they sold a couple

The other shenanigans I will not put in writing :headbang:

WAMT - well not T but 3 days ago... First decent "full week off work" in 17 months, and on last Friday of the week, I start with the coughing, wheezing, and all the symptoms of a cold / flu or whatever we're calling it these days if we can't be arsed to pay for nasal swabs".

Was just starting to feel the benefit of actually having had a break from work, only to spend next 4 days aching so bad i've barely left my scratcher.

Back at work tomorrow, and lo-and-behold - i'm starting to actually feel somewhere near human again.

Drat! Talk about sod's law :(

Soup maker leaked badly and left a massive pool on the counter top. Wasn't watching it but I assume by the mess it was like something out of the exorcist....

Finding a graze on the corner of my car that I definitely didn't do! Luckily it's on the plastic (which doesn't dent like metal) and will just need an aerosol touch up (in the summer!).

Expecting a Tesco Delivery this afternoon - has been booked for a couple of weeks. Got a one hour time slot notification sent to me this morning early - suited me fin.

Just had a an email telling me that they have to cancel my delivery !!

OK they also told me how to arrange another delivery slot and this I have done. Good job there wasn't anything on that order that was really urgent and that I needed today

Work a treat!!!

Ours have stayed up for many years. Up in the loft, that is!

Lifted a tub of double cream to pour on pudding last night, gave it a shake as you do before pouring, blooming wife had already peeled the lid, oops. I wore more than I ate.

Can I pinch that and use it a WCMUT? !!!

BBC speculation!!! "The PM is expected to talk about...." I want the news either as it happens or after it happens. Do they have a crystal ball? More than likely "an insider"! Spies used to get hung!!!

Yes, this drives me up the wall as well. It happens over and over again.

That's because they're reading from an embargoed press release.

It's what the politician intends to say or already has said but the recording isn't supposed to go out before a specified time.

Just another example of why a sensible person knows that a politician is lying - because his/her lips are moving!

I really don't think it's speculation. They have briefed as per perfectly normal practice.

Actually annoys everyday for about the past week......

An Edinburgh origin(?) number that varies each time i.e. a slightly different number each time :headbang: so matter how many I block there are more to come.

FWIW I never answer unknown numbers on my mobile (or for that matter on the landline) and treat them on the basis 'if they cannot be bothered to leave a message' they are of no interest to me!

I google the numbers and only one came up as spam. I have dialed the odd or two, preceded by 141 to block my CLI id and the numbers do not exist!

I currently just wish I could block all 0131 5xxxxx numbers as a group. Anyone important enough in Edinburgh who would want contact me will have my postal address.

[/Rant]

I get loads from Glasgow or Sheffield, some ring off quickly and others are damn persistent, I just ignore them all, one did answered by the auto function in the car, I kept replying Que and No Hable English, soon give up on me.

Just the young woman on the photography counter at a local supermarket.

She was head down looking at social media on her phone and so engrossed she didn't see me stood 18 inches from her or hear me when I said "excuse me." So, I went and did my shopping and called on the way back and this time I persisted until she put the phone down and served me.

I know serving me was a big ask, but it is a shop.

Another annoyance for me :D

Coming up to a combined set of traffic lights and pedestrian crossing on a dual carriageway I could see that the woman driving the car in front had stopped with her front wheels over the line and so slightly but not by much impinging on the crossing. There was no one waiting to cross and if there had been there was room for them to cross but just in case she decided to reverse I stopped well back.

A MAMIL on a push bike I'd passed earlier passed me on the drivers side (why wasn't he using the cycle lane on the LHS?) and stopped to remonstrate with the woman driver to the point that her reversing lights came on which I wasn't worried about as I'd left a big gap. Meanwhile the MAMIL proceeded through the red light.

What got to me was the arrogance, entitlement and compete lack of self awareness from the MAMIL who'd needlessly got the woman in front to reverse and yet he was fine going through a red light.

I love to see a real purge on people like him.

After ordering 4 Tom Kerridge books online (OnBuy.com), I get a message enclosing two pdf links to my E books???? Scam alert????? My "order" was supposed to be delivered this week!

Another wet and windy day was hoping to get out with the camera
