Not the coolest trade I betMachinery and cutting metals isn't helping me ...
And keep them shut with curtains drawn.I really should find a works unit with windows![]()
We do at home, I open the loft hatch tooAnd keep them shut with curtains drawn.
At least that's what I do at home.

Good idea, there's a coolant tank on my machine
Anything over 18 degs, I'm done ... I got sunburnt back in February![]()
I just refuse to go out in the sunOnly laughed (as a like) because I'm much the same - sunny Winter's day? Factor 30 gets slapped on for golf! But at least it's only hands and face then - March onwards is arms as well. On holiday, I have to be especially nice to Mrs Nod (well, not really - I'm always that nice to her - honest!!!) so I can get my back slathered in factor 30, although I'm usually under a brolly or wearing a T-shirt (or swimming top [as used in Oz against jellyfish]). 3 days is a bottle of the stuff...
Windows and doors on the shady side of the house all open to get some air flowing through, windows and curtains on the sunny side closed until about 19:00 when the windows in the bedroom (West facing) get opened to refresh the air a bit. Plenty of iced drinks when possible and a head under the cold tap as necessary.

I do all that but I’ve only just realised that the N facing part faces the gravel drive which is like an oven since the house is single storey and the sun goes over the top -- also it’s sheltered from the prevailing southerly breezes.Only laughed (as a like) because I'm much the same - sunny Winter's day? Thanks God we have the weather to moan about in the UK
I've had a couple of quick "thunder spot" type rain showers, the last couple of hours.
They don't last long though.
My other half was cold just a few weeks ago now, too hot![]()

Em said she had some at home, nothing here at work, but very sticky![]()
A few showers through the afternoon thunder spots mostly, but I still needed to water the Bonsai'sI thought I'd be spared doing the flower-watering rounds this evening
But God sends the rain to feed the flowersI wouldn't be thanking a god re that peculiarity of the British..

But if I have to go out.. factor 30+, long sleeve top, buff around my neck and a tilly hat .. everyone else is topless![]()
But I thought you knew that God is gender-less.In which case he (He ? )needs someone to tell him (Him?) ...
I'd stay your side of the M1 if I were you, it's not a pretty site here sometimes![]()
Can never be too preparedThis made me think of my dad. He always wore a jacket, trousers and a shirt and it was only in his last years that he'd go out in public without a jacket. I remember him sweltering in a jacket and refusing to take it off. Oh, and he always carried waaay too much money, for emergencies.

I've only just ventured outside .. apart from the drive homeWell its down to mid now 20's so I guess I'd better go put a cardi on

But if you leave it behind, just once, that's when you need itI don't think he ever had that emergency, but he was always ready![]()

Some people travel great distances with just those and the clothes they have onTrue. These days I feel nervous leaving the house without a phone and a credit card.
But I thought you knew that God is gender-less.
And now we also know who to blame for that as well as wars, plagues and pestilence.

Immaculate conception, he can create life without the need for "Contact"He can't be gender-less. He's said to be the father of a 1st century Jewish preacher-man called Jesus

The credit card is redundant if you have it in your phone, at least iPhone, I assume Android has similar function.True. These days I feel nervous leaving the house without a phone and a credit card.
Do you find antihisan better than the hydrocortisone creams? I confess I’ve never tried antihisan.Quite often it's giving someone a helping hand that gets you into trouble of one kind or another.
Yesterday evening, I was putting out the green wheelie bin..garden waste.. when I saw that my next door but one neighbour had attacked his 10-15' palm tree that's infront of his lounge window and he doesn't have a green bin as he's grass at the front only..the back is astro-turf. He'd have had to go to the tip..a 12 mile round trip and a visit has to be booked, still. So, my bin was only half full as was our neighbour's inb etween so I set about, with a pair of shears, cutting up the leaves of those large pieces he'd sawn off. He then saw me and came out of his house and, together, we filled the two wheelie bins. What annoyed me ? Not thinking to wear long trousers rather than shorts and as a result getting some nasty, painful insect bites on my legs. I hadn't given a thought to it as I haven't experienced them in our garden. Of course, I have to acknowledge the fact that we were dismantling 'their' home.
I'm now taking Piriton every 4-5 hours and applying Anthisan cream![]()

I agree, redundancy is best — some cash too, things go wrong. I have a my Credit f debit cards are repeatedly being rejected online by the local taxi firm I use despite my having registered & used them before and they are still accepted in-car — and by everyone else!Until the phone can't be found, at which point all the eggs in the one basket are useless. Happened to a girl at our hotel last month - no money, no means of communication, no phone book, no internet access etc.. Might have helped if she had spoken any Greek or English but she'd been relying on Google translate...

Anthisan is brilliant stuff! Mossies love me and this deals with the swelling and itching way better than anything else I have tried.
