WAMT....what annoyed me today!

It's snowed, then melted in the sun five times here today. Weather can't make up it's mind.

Out on the Trumpet yesterday, riding down through Mawgan Porth, woman with mobile phone to her ear and in the other hand a baby in a pram, she was walking towards the curb so I slowed up and covered the brakes. Sure enough she walks straight out in front of me, pushing baby and pram . Stopped the bike on a sixpence about two feet from pram. She screams, drops mobile and then starts shouting at me that I nearly killed her baby! Guy in car behind me skids to a halt inches away from back of bike.

Her phone is broken, baby crying and small group gathers. I was going too fast according to woman, guy in car backs me up that I was doing less than ten miles an hour. She takes my number plate and is reporting me to police!

What baffles me is why would a woman with a baby use a mobile phone when crossing a road?

To get to the other side?

Sorry, I couldn't resist it.
Some people just have to blame someone else when they have done somthing stupid. Well done in stopping, I hope that you got the car drivers details!

Phone zombie. I've seen them walk into walls and lampposts, one fell down some stairs while txting.

You got a bike/helmet cam?
If she can put the blame on you, she can get a new phone and compensation for PTSD/whiplash/covid/etc./etc...

They use them like battering rams around here, supermarkets, road junctions ( even before the new, dare I say, suicide, law was introduced) and more :)
Well done for stopping though (y)

:D

I have taken the cars drivers details, this and other incidents in the last week mean today I am buying a cam for both helmet and car.

WAMT was meeting a psycholist in the middle of the road while he was going the wrong way round a roundabout. The BMW behind me was even less amused.

In your shoes, I'd go to the nearest police station and report the incident, giving the details of the witness. That would go some way to protect you from her malice.

I've just had the third phone call today from " Bank Security Services ' telling me about the puzzling transactions on my card - £300 to Amazon and £1000 to an overseas firm !!

Not surprisingly I put the phone down without 'pressing 2 to talk to security Dept '

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

OH and of course they all came through on my Landline not the gadget number I normally get all calls from , which was how I knew that whatever it was it would most definitely be a SCAM .

I'm out walking the dog, a young lady drives past me, a child is standing on the passenger seat with arms outstretched and hands on the dash.

She was texting at the same time!

Hopefully...

Isn't that called natural selection?
Darwin has his own FB page :D
(I know you don't, its all about equal or worse peoples actions)

Just more Chinese tat from Amazon.

I ordered a double outlet plate and some plugs to redo a TV installation and what arrived is just garbage. Both the female and male parts are just way too loose. I tried multiple old bits with them and these new ones are just unusable as if there's any stress on the lead at all they just disconnect.

Time was you could buy stuff like this just about anywhere but now?? I'll hunt them down and buy them locally in time I suppose.

And I'm STILL getting them - several each day !!

Most irritating

The subject of being woke was brought up in a thread very recently and tongue-in-cheek I cited a couple of examples ripe for change (according to woke people)..manhole cover to personhole cover..manpower to personpower. I could barely believe what I was hearing on the regional news last night when the interviewer put a question to the Chief Constable of Warwickshire, Debbie Tedds, asking if the level of manpower she had at her disposal was adequate for the extra operations she wanted to carry out. The Chief Constable's first words were "I prefer to call it personpower "

I'd have thought things like manholes were named because "men" went down them, rather than zebras or octopuses. Men being a race in this case and including those identifying as adult human females.

What triggers my belief that we're all doomed are phrases like breast feeders and birthing people although the realisation that mathematics is an archaic colonial racist hang on may make me worry when planes fly overhead in a few years time.

Yes. Good point re manhole covers but 'the brigade' would tell you that women can do that job too. I think it's 'birthing parents' rather than 'birthing people' for mum/dad but stand to be corrected.

It's even worse 'down under'

"The Australian National University Gender Institute’s Gender-Inclusive Handbook Every Voice Project recommends making the changes to be “inclusive of every voice”.

The guide suggests changing the term “mother” to “gestational” or “birthing parent” and using “non-gestational” or “non-birthing parent” instead of “father”.

This pathetic wokery has now invaded the House of Lords. It's, sadly, now all pervasive

Staff have been told not to use 'offensive' terms such as 'ladies' and 'gentlemen' and they've been issued with an "inclusive language guide.' Manpower is on the list. I actually mentioned that on here not long ago. It's suggested that 'workforce' or 'staffing' be substituted. Instead of 'common man' it's to be 'average person' and a person's class..becomes 'socia-economic status'. Man-made becomes 'synthetic or 'artificial'

So, are they renaming the institution itself to the House of Peers?

Manfred Mann will now be known as Personfreda Personn...

"Girl" by the Beatles will have to become "Person" and "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper... :wideyed:

Lets not forget Penis van Lesbian.

I wasn't sure whether to post this here or in WBMT. I've opted for this thread.

On Saturday there was a high profile boxing match between the reigning heavy-weight champion Tyson 'Gypsy King' Fury..an apt name..and Dillian Whyte . The fight was stopped by the referee in the 6th round as he considered that Whyte, having suffered a very powerful uppercut knocking him down to the canvas and rendering him semi-conscious, was unfit to continue the fight because when he got up (just about) he was left staggering around. Fury was declared the winner to rapturous cheering and clapping by his supporters amongst the 94,000 spectators. I had to remind myself that it's the UK in 2022 not the Colosseum in Rome 80AD.

Each round lasted 3 minutes so the combatants boxed for 17 minutes. For that Fury collected £26.2 million. Whyte collected £5.8 million. My opinion is that there's something wrong with the values of society when these levels of renumeration (prize money) can be achieved for spending 17 minutes attempting to hit an opponent so hard it causes brain trauma.

By the way, I'm sure that Jesus, a gentle, compassionate man, by all accounts, who concerned himself with the welfare of others, would not have taken too kindly to Fury's comments after his declared victory.

“I came, I saw and I conquered"

“Thank you Wembley, We Made History!

“God Bless You All, My Family and My Team. All Glory Be To My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

He obviously did have his god on his side. Prior to the fight he'd said:

"I will be leaving every ounce of strength and energy I have in my body in the ring on Saturday night. The rest of it is God’s will"

Our society is based on market forces. They are paid what the market determines. That's it.

Bread, circuses and the market.

God has nothing to do with it.
