You really need to stop listening to Cobra. You sound more chicken than hamster. A real hamster could be shot up on the roof with one of those propane bird scarers.

Some people need to go back to school IMO, the Interweb's made people soft and most people couldn't spell their way out of a damp Tesco carrier bag.Why over the past year or so has the word lose been replaced by loose.
This also goes for loosing, is it some form of spellcheck anomaly?
I hadnt noticed it particularly over the past year but think it’s just ignorance and the fact that if you can’t spell the double-o sounds more likely for loseWhy over the past year or so has the word lose been replaced by loose.

I think your right their ...I hadnt noticed it particularly over the past year but think it’s just ignorance and the fact that if you can’t spell the double-o sounds more likely for lose.

The annoying thing for me is that I quite like the autocorrect, being now an even worse typist than I used to be, but sometimes it changes my their to there or they’re (or vice versa) and I don’t notice it until someone quotes my post or I come on it by chance laterI think your right their ...

And young people that post on FB!I think it’s non-native speakers mainly.

I’m pretty sure it’s autocorrect interfering. I keep seeing forum posts from people “looking for advise” too : presumably the same thing. Why over the past year or so has the word lose been replaced by loose.

He defiantly is.....I think your right their ...

I'm sure many younger folk have no idea why commas are used in a sentence, other than separating items in a list. I often use them when I write to convey the manner in which I would say the sentence verbally. I remember reading an email from a younger member of my team (to a customer) with hardly any punctuation at all, and he couldn't understand why I was not happy.
Wooossshhhh!Your equals you're and it's there not their
They should use commas, otherwise it reads like they shoot their family and pets! :banghead:"My hobbies and pastimes include shooting my family and my pets."
I can't go to the shop as I am set in the bedroom butt naked till Dad comes.

I've been told, by an literary minded aquaintance, that the problem with the standardisation of English lay in the attitude of the academics. All their efforts went into Latin and Greek, with some attention directed towards Hebrew. English was seen as a common vernacular, of use only for directing the lower orders in their work and some types of commerce. A standardised English (according to my aquaintance) only emerged as the Church lost cohesion during the seventeenth century.I think Dr Samuel Johnson's dictionary published in the mid C18th was the first serious attempt to propose standardised spelling,
Mine offered to deliver, reckon when it’s that bad I’ll give up on the breathing lark. The pharmacy send automated texts when it's ready. Small pharmacy so I try to pick my time to collect - I pass it on my way to/from g*lf so pop in when there's no visible queue outside.
Living in Wales we get free prescriptions and my area can get free delivery, Personally don't think its a great idea as I'm sure the money could be better spent elsewhere in the NHS. Had to go to A&E a few weeks ago, left 13 hours later, had a few tests during that time to be fair, but 13 hours mainly sitting on a chair in a waiting room feeling c~~p is not much fun. Mum told me last week that next week I have an appointment at the Dentist for a filling..
