Thanks for the offer but I think I can manage what's left (of Mrs Nod's too.)

Firstly, hope the meds have turned up, Marc.
WAMT?
Just a bit p***ed off with UPS TBH
The prcel was loaded on to the van @ 6am delivery by the end of the day.
The depot is about 20 miles away.
I happened to see the Van go by about 1.5 hours ago, and now I get this.

To be fair it was snowing very hard at the time ( NOT)![]()
@Cobra Altogether now: You take the high road, and... Oh, sorry, wrong thread! But your parcel is on the van that goes via the highlands of Scootland first.
Is that 10th June under normal conditions, or COVID19 conditions, if it's normal conditions it could take even longer. As my hair is getting longer I thought I'd order some cordless clippers from Amazon. Lots were out of stock but I found one in stock and ordered it. Great. The email came this morning saying it had been dispatched and would arrive on 10th June. So where is it "in stock" then? Mozambique? Scrap that. I'm sure that there's a logistics guy in Mozambique who could get it to me within a week.
Amazon Feckers.
I'd leave a scathing review but my experience is that Amazon delete them.
Strangely, I have to work, and in the desperate hope, it arrived today I left delivery Instructions pinned to the door ....But your parcel is on the van that goes via the highlands of Scootland first.

You're lucky, our local UPS delivery driver can't be bothered to deliver parcels half the time. He just leaves them at the drop off point instead, it's only if you track the parcel online, you find out where it is. He did it to me once and if I had left it another day to check the tracker, the parcel would have been sent back to the sender.Strangely, I have to work, and in the desperate hope, it arrived today I left delivery Instructions pinned to the door ....
( the same as on the order) as I drove onto the estate a UPS van was driving out ... Too much of a coincidence?
Nope there it was in the "safe place" and a note from the driver posted through the door.
Out of curiosity I checked the tracking number..
"sorry we missed you, your parcel is at the local USP hub ( about a mile away)
Should I go there and ask for my parcel? and then bitch because its not?
Brilliant
To quote Francis Urquhart (who I sometimes think is less of a fictional character than any member of the current government) "You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment".If there's a race surely saving lives is the goal.

...a bit like everything else in the last 300 years? Then it would be British...

Ouch!Reaching into the dishwasher to get hold of the handle of the bottom rack to pull it out so I can place my lunch plate into it, I find something has stopped my hand. Looking down I see that a fork has fallen forward in the cutlery basket, and one of its tines has embedded itself to a depth of half an inch under the nail of my left index finger! Lifting my hand up I see the fork follow it, I then have the experience of pulling the fork out of my finger! Yes, it did sting a little bit... but I didn't cry!![]()

Ouch, my sympathies. In almost 35 of years being a toolmaker, having a cut or shard of metal stuck in my hand would be an almost daily occurrence and barely worth a second thought, but there was nothing like the excruciating pain of when something stuck in your finger under the nail. Makes me go cold just thinking about it.Reaching into the dishwasher to get hold of the handle of the bottom rack to pull it out so I can place my lunch plate into it, I find something has stopped my hand. Did you say "for forks sake" or "fork that"Reaching into the dishwasher to get hold of the handle of the bottom rack to pull it out so I can place my lunch plate into it, I find something has stopped my hand. Now for what AMT.
Contactless on my debit card has ceased working. Since some places (understandably) don't want people to use the keypads unless unavoidable, I've been using my credit card instead which means I have to visit the bank to pay the bill - I don't trust internet banking and never will!
New card should be on its way, ordered while in the bank paying cheques in (which should have been credits to the card used to pay for the "goods" but the DVLA won't do that.)

You should be able to set up a DD to pay the credit card in full instead automatically by the due date. Card provider should offer it.
No, just "Ow"!Did you say "for forks sake" or "fork that"![]()
At the risk of being accused of being a wimp, I find paper cuts disproportionately painful too .......especially on the fleshy bits between digits.Ouch, my sympathies. They usually get me between my thumb and fore fingerespecially on the fleshy bits between digits.
Apparently I have a very sharp, dirty fork you can borrow if you wish to compare? They usually get me between my thumb and fore finger
Stings like hell and takes ages to heal![]()
I once managed to stand on a nail in a bonfire. Went straight through the sole of my workboot and stuck in my foot. Then I pulled the thing out with bare fingers! Once the wounds were bandaged they throbbed a bit but I managed to ignore them after an hour or two.Apparently I have a very sharp, dirty fork you can borrow if you wish to compare?![]()

Thanks anywayApparently I have a very sharp, dirty fork you can borrow if you wish to compare?![]()
Can you not take a hint?Monday's return to work has been delayed again.
