WAMT....what annoyed me today!

Don’t think I’ve ever contributed to this thread. Anyway today I’m annoyed as the wife had the cats balls chopped off

Unless he is a pedigree and you were going to use him as a stud .... best thing she could have done! (y)

.... will save him from injuries from fighting and will make him much more sociable .... not to mention fewer unwanted kittens.

Not a pedigree and he's a tom cat so he's never had any kittens and if he's fathered some, good on him. Sociable? he is more than sociable and as for fighting, again he's a tom cat and loves being territorial, why not allow him to be natural and fight if he wants to?

So, not a responsible pet owner, then.

DPD. Telling me a parcel is ready for delivery each day and no delivery slot. I think they've lost it. Useless buggers. They used to be good now they're just like all the rest of the incompetent couriers.

Checked the full info and it's been to Stoke, back to Birmingham to 2 different hubs and now to Stoke again today. Parcel was from Leeds so god only knows why Birmingham is the right place to send it when it was ALREADY in Stoke. Muppets.

Is this that thing you ordered a month ago, that got delayed?

Nope. Ordered this one last week.

That other item never arrived. They offered to meet me with it. Didn't turn up due to getting their days 'muddled up' Then they offered to drop it off. They told me that morning they were off to hospital with chest pains so couldn't and had refunded me.... then several days later they asked if I still wanted it as they were out of hospital. I'd sorted an alternative by then.

Being neutered does not necessarily mean your cat will not be territorial or fight - if that is what you want from your cat. The neutered female cat we had would make it very clear to other cats that they were not welcome in our garden.

If you think letting your cat be responsible for increasing the number of unwanted cats shows you are a responsible pet owner, then you are wrong.

Moving a hand / wrist ( Gareth hunt style) up and down, means I really appreciate that, I'll buy you a coffee next time I see you (y)
Ive always wondered what that meant! The amount of coffees I'm owed is unreal!

So, because I didnt have my cat done all the unwanted kittens are my fault and Im a s*** pet owner too and it justifies being snide at me? Nice to know.

Of course, not all of the unwanted kittens, no.
Shyt pet owner? Yes.

So yesterday, as a last minute decision, I decided to order a Manfrotto Pixi Evo from scan.co.uk. I went for next day delivery since they use DPD. Somewhere I read "6pm" so figured "great I'll send it to work". Today I checked and there's no delivery slot email or text yet (normally I get one by 7am). So I had a dig around and delivery might be anywhere up until 10pm!

Depending on what time the delivery slot is, I may need to alter the address, which means sending it elsewhere for pick up tomorrow.

Annoyingly, I could have ordered off Amazon for delivery tomorrow and it would have been a tenner cheaper but we're going away for the weekend.

If you don't get a delivery slot email then it probably won't be delivered at all. I had this nonsense with DPD. 3 days of 'estimate of delivery today's date' and no email. Finally on day 3 of that it turned up. Even if it's in your local deport it's no guarantee it will be delivered. DPD used to be good. Now they aren't really.

That's annoying. DPD have always IMO been the best of the couriers. Parcel force used to just leave a ticket which meant a trip to the post office (which is difficult when your working hours are longer than the post office opening times). UPS had a habit of giving parcels to neighbours (one of whom would routinely open my parcels and/or deny receipt! Their depots were miles away too). Yodel just used to ticket and run, or fail to deliver at all. I've been let down a few times by Amazon Logistics though that has improved recently. Royal Mail have always been good and the depot is close enough that I could pick things up. DPD were the only other "good" courier especially now with slot times and tracking info available.

As it stands, I've got the email and delivery will be 3:58-4:58 today (why is it always at 58 minutes?) so fingers crossed.

WAMT and has done for a few days (times).

Missed or ignored call from an unknown number that looks like a legitimate UK one but does not actually exist ~ grr! (NB checked by dialling it preceeded with 141 [the 141 on the BT system stops calling line ID of your number ;) ]

You would have thought that BT and other service providers could field these and like a a spam filter block them at source???

WAMT is DOFs staying in the outside lane of a dual carriageway for its full length (about 2 miles), presumably so they'd be in the correct lane at the far end. Wouldn't have annoyed me had they been moving at more than 35-40 all the way... Honda Jazz.

I heard that recently, in relation to the drop in fuel prices ..
Seriously? don't these people buy fuel?

And I surmise it will only be a period of 'getting worse' as we approach and then post BREXIT???

I have experienced that sort of behaviour on all too many occasions.

I include that/them in the same pot of ~ inconsiderate and self serving t***s of driver.

The one 'type', that stands out is the big SUV or 4x4 driver. I have yet to see or recall one that actually knows how to park properly in a single parking space...............and as a corollary of that do they know their turning circle - when I approach a T junction on the giveway lines part I position myself at the crown of the road at the giveway line BUT the dirty looks I get from the aforementioned drivers who are/were turning at such an angle to cut the apex of the turn! They have power assisted steering so not hard to steer the b****y thing.

Having said that, a lot drivers(?) of all sizes of cars etc try the same 'cutting turn' ~ this has odd results sometimes when I have made my turn in the appropriate wider manner, the driver following me cuts the apex and in my mirror I see him/her having to break before they drive into me because they carried more speed into the turn! and FWIW I do not hang around when turning if the road conditions allow, so I am not holding them up ;)

We live on a side road. One end is a main road, the other end is a nest of T-junctions. When turning from my current road on to a side road, I make sure I turn a bit later than normal since it's a blind corner and there could easily be someone at the give way lines. Funnily enough, whenever it's me at the giveway line, cars turning right suddenly seem to be surprised and think they could have cut into my line to make the turn rather than slow down and take their time.

I recently encountered someone who cut a turn so much they almost clipped the kerb on their right.

Drivers who think indicators are only there to inform other drivers, and thus fail to use them if the road is empty of other vehicles, ignoring pedestrians.

Drivers who are unaware of, or ignore Highway Code rule 170. Typically the same people as above!

and Im a s*** pet owner too

No you are an irresponsible pet owner, it you wish to keep you cat entire you should keep it as a house cat.
Do a bit of research and see how many cats/kittens are in rescue and how many are put down because homes
can't be found

What if you are a vet? :D

Get another vet to do it - the cat will never forget Dr Bollokov or forgive her/him so best not "do" your own cat!!! :P:D

Shyt pet owner? Yes.

I mean you are of course entitled to your opinion though I wish you'd be a bit more adult and less low browed about it as it's quite a personal attack.

Sorry but Im not a fan of neutering male cats or dogs, its my opinion simple as that I don't want to denature them, if I had a female cat or bitch then IF I didnt want kittens that is something I would consider but when I have pets I always go for males, other than my chickens obviously.

Should not everyone who owns a cat do whatever they can to reduce the number of unwanted cats irrespective of whether the cat they own is male or female?

Fortunately your wife has the animals best interests at heart .....

So cut off his bits for population control then?

Yeaaaah, lets go with that then....

I think low-brow is appropriate, given your attitude. I'm not "attacking" you, I'm merely pointing out the facts.

So, you don't "like" neutering male pets.
What if a neighbour's young female cat gets pregnant by your cat on her first season, before she's been speyed, I guess that's her owners fault, rather than your irresponsibility?

viv Im not going to get into an argument with you, you are defining my opinion and beliefs as attitude so you are not pointing out facts, you're misrepresenting them. You continue to try and have a dig at me by being sarcastic be quoting "like" and rolling eyes emojis. Its hard not to see your comments as personal attacks when you read them, but as I say, I won't be drawn.

Not misrepresenting at all.
With pet ownership comes certain responsibilities, which override your personal beliefs. You are derelict in that responsibility in this instance.

Thankfully, your wife seems to be making up your defecit.

Let me say here that I have never had a male dog neutured and have had many, but dogs are a different argument.
You don't let a dog run around the neighbourhood, free to do as it wishes, if you did you would soon be in trouble.
None of my dogs have ever sired a litter of pups, they were well trained and only ever out withe me or another family
member.
Cats are free to run around and do as they please, you have no idea what your cat does when you let it out and to
me allowing an entire cat to roam free and sire endless litter of kittens is akin to puppy farming, no one takes responsibilty for then.
I don't have room for loads of dogs, hence never allowing mine to breed
