WAMT....what annoyed me today!

Camden Market. Haven't been there for maybe 5 years and used to love it, both as a photography destination and somewhere to just mooch round loads of little craft shops, bookshops and junk shops.

Anyway , fast forward to now and I promised the other half and her daughter a trip there. Got there only to find half the horse market area simply gone now and turned into a building site, but the other half now taken over by the sort of cheap plastic tat sellers you get hawking their tourist crap along Oxford Street.

It's totally lost its soul. I didn't even see one goth on the high street. So it looks like they've even abandoned the place. I don't think I'll ever go back now. Gutted tbh.

Sorry to hear that. My daughter spent a university break working in London years ago. She loved Camden market, but it sounds just like an average South African flea market now.

Mrs N. has ordered me a couple of pairs - like you said, a fiver per pair. Hopefully they'll work for me as well as they do for you. (First link works BTW.)

Its not a fix by any means but it makes walking a little more comfortable, and the evenings not quite so painful ... Good luck

I fell over (happens far too often - and on the way TO the pub) with my new-to-me Olympus Pen E-PL3 around my neck on a strap. Camera hit the road with a resounding clunk and then I hit the camera with a further resounding clunk - loud enough for a young lady to come out of a shop to see what was happening. Ribs mend (but hurt a great deal) but I don't think the camera is going to get better by itself. It is completely lifeless.

On a more positive note, I got my free bus pass today so I can take my non-functioning Olympus Pen camera all around the country at no cost to me.

Parcel I expected to have been sent out by next day delivery several days ago still isn't here. It's a rare and hard to obtain item so I'll be annoyed if they've sent it out by one of the gibbon couriers like Yodel.

I thought we were done with the snow here. Obviously not

They heard the weather forecast, and are making sure their "Delayed due to snow" procedures work correctly. (y)

I checked with them and they hadn't even sent it out! I will collect if they haven't sent it by the middle of next week. It's a 3 hour round trip but I'd rather do that than have it disappear or be damaged.

Cyclist today, just off Peckham High St. came up the inside, scraped along passenger door. Long story short, he had no insurance obviously, they don't need to have insurance. Depends where you live maybe, but once they have whizzed by after scraping/clipping and you are stuck in heavy traffic, do they have a number plate you can report? No. They must be smiling their whole journey through all the red lights, with their little *Shout at me and your in court* camera's on their lids.

I always stop if I clip a car on my bike, just to look briefly and see their scewed up faces.;) My last bike was called Hannah, from Canning Town, thirteen previous owners.:(

Snow.

It is far too cold to be rebuilding brake calipers outside. (n)

Last night, the game was abandoned...:(
I mean, over the years we've had games cancelled at short notice, we've been fogged off a few times during a game and once at a night match the floodlights blew up, but this is a first for me.

What was the score when it was abandoned?

2-0 to Wakey, abandoned after 26min so it'll have to be replayed.....so that'll be a 3 game week probably..:cautious:

The Cas Wigan game is off too...frozen pitch

I have approx 3 inches!
( well it is cold :D )

4" - and growing! DPD are allegedly going to deliver something this afternoon. Rather doubt it myself. Won't be an annoyance - be more annoyed if they risked being out in this TBH!

Well, it puts Wigan on a 3 game week too, it might all come back to you later in the season.
Wakey, Cas, Wigan, probably not so much Widnes but that's 3 teams arguably out of the top end of the table with a fixture backlog already.
Can't do Saints or Leeds any harm, still...its early days..:)

Pesky weather. Joe Cornish was meant to be at Nettleham Camera club today and I had a ticket. Cancelled. :dummy:

Yodel! I think I may have to readjust them to the bottom of the league for couriers, replacing Hermes! Driver won't leave parcel because signature is required, annoying but fair, but then there's the website! Apparently I can collect from my local collection centre, but there is nothing on the site to tell me where it is. OK then I'll arrange redelivery. Oh no I won't because the website does not work, it as soon as you hit rearrange it just reloads the page. According to the missed you card they'll attempt to redeliver again today, but the tracking info on the website doesn't say so. I've downloaded the app now... lets see if that works.

Asda. Yesterday I read about a product that may actually clear up my psoriasis. So I order some from Asda as they are selling it for less than half the price other places are charging. Because Asda have a £25 minimum order for home delivery, I ordered 7 bottles. Got an email letting me know my order will be delivered today.............. for 7 bottles of an alternative product which although cheaper still, I have tried in the past and doesn't work.

Couple of weeks ago booked our car in for a service at a main Toyota dealers tomorrow.

Sat down to my dinner this evening about half six and get a call from the dealers, goes a bit like this.
Now we have got your details we can make unsolicited sales calls to try and flog you a car whilst you are here

Everywhere you turn these days, someone is trying to get money out of you.
If I wanted to book a test drive I would have done, won't be going there when we do want another car

Finding I'd been charged a whopping cash advance fee for paying online with a credit card for something. I thought I was paying directly but clearly they've set it up to do it as a cash advance instead. No warnings.

Does that mean you have no purchase protection?

I actually thought I was using my debit card. iOS had saved the card. Didn't check closely enough. It was a daft bet on lottoland. Cost me £3 on top of the £2 I paid for a line in some daft american lottery. Won't be doing that again :dummy:

Could it have been a foreign currency transaction fee? Pretty sure you get stung for paying in US$.

This was all in £ so it was purely down to the credit card company deciding to charge it.

Sunday drivers. Just took an hour to do a 20min journey.

Most credit cards treat any gambling transactions as “cash” if they allow it at all, to limit their liabilities from problem gambling.

I was under the impression that offering credit specifically for gambling was illegal in England.

Well stop dawdling then you own a fast car :p
Left my car at home. We were in the wife's car. I think there were more cars on the road today than on weekday rush hour.

I think a fair few schools broke up on Friday so people are getting away early for their easter break. Deep joy for the A38(0) among others...

WAMT is Costa Latte milk pods for the Tassimo machine not letting the milk out, resulting in it spurting out through the in spigot down into the depths of the machine. Had the same issue a couple of months ago (which they [Tassimo] sorted quickly with replacements) with some that came direct from Tassimo but we're not sure where this lot came from and we have 4 boxes of 5 packs of 8 drinks. Shame because I like the drink but will not be buying it again - I'll switch to their Americano and add cold milk.

Going for lunch at local Ask Italian and getting the wrong food served, being told if I wanted it I could have it free .
Umm no I don't like pea and ham risotto and if I wanted it I would have ordered it
Then being told the chef could cook it now, WTF so I wait for mine whilst the person I was with eats theirs of waits and ends up with
cold food, don't think so.
Get almost ignored after that, and have to go find someone to bring the bill, £21.75, then ignored again !!!
Eventually catch the original waitress and ask if I can pay, give her the bill with £22 and get a receipt for £8.50, luckily she
hadn't picked up the money as I queried it and she said she had taken off the risotto that had been eaten, wonder what she
would have done if I walked out ?
Not once did I get an apology

:(

Surprised you didn't tbh

and leave her with a £14 tip, no chance it was only because I expected the 25p change that I noticed
£8.50 charge
