WAMT....what annoyed me today!

I always reverse park (with a lwb Defender you have to) and they do exactly the same to me. Worse is the numpties who walk behind. They obviously have no concept of blind spots.

Confession here, I always reverse park because I mess up driving in, find reversing far easier :)

Reverse parking IS much easier - your car is much more manoeuvrable with the steering wheels following the vehicle.

Ah, so that's why people who forward park take twice as long to do it as I take to reverse park and still end up diagonally across the space, or across two spaces, while my vehicle will be perfectly straight and dead centred in the space.................

WAMT (well, Wednesday actually, but only just got 'tinternet back on)

Bloody house sale fell through less than 24hrs before moving!:banghead:
99% packed & the beginning of the chain of 5 (we're in the middle) couldn't exchange.

Apparently they are a newly wed couple who have not long been back from honeymoon & were buying their 1st house together, but each still own small properties that are in the early process of being sold.
Stamp duty was going to be around £2,200 BUT because they are owners of more than one property, their solicitor had failed to inform them they were due a bill of around £10,000 which they couldn't guarantee to raise within a month, so reluctantly pulled out.:bat:

So the weather up here has got much colder so much so that I got my woolly hat, scarf and gloves out today - My annoyance was the shopping center that seems to want to cook everyone with their heating system, it is unhealthy and leads to the spread of bugs.

Also sat in the cafe today and this young mum with her baby sat at the table next to me and judging by the smell the baby had obviously had a poo, the mum however seemed to not care and had her face buried in her phone.

And what is it with people who don't wash?? Some woman stood next to me at the bus stop and she stank.

Rain. :(

Lazy people!

Popped to my local Co-op this morning, 2 disabled and 2 parent & child bays, all free when I arrived. When I came out, all were occupied. As I was getting myself back in the car, I saw the people coming back to their cars in the P&C spaces, not a child in sight. The other disabled bay? A van, the driver was carrying some boxes into the store.

There were plenty of standard spaces just 10 yards away FFS!

The DPD van that followed me so close I couldn't see the number plate eventually overtaking me only to immediatly brake and slow down to take the next turnoff wtf. I know I shouldn't but sometimes just sometimes.

Was due to go to an event this morning only to discover that my suit and overcoat did not fit anymore due to some weight gain.

I am angry with myself for not checking sooner and for gaining the extra weight.

Fireworks going off yet again :banghead:

WAMY. The idiot who pulled put on me on the A20 dual carriageway from a turning on my right. Not only did he pull out whilst I'm approaching at 50mph, he also stayed in the right hand lane and proceeded to dawdle along at under 30mph. Good job my car has excellent brakes, also the cars behind me were a safe distance, had seen what was happening and braked too.

Tescos. We were running behind a little yesterday and did our weekly shop later in the day. Still finished with more than ten minutes before the store closed. One by one, all the till workers wanted to close their gates.
I was angry to ram the trolley into a display stand and run off. Ended up using the self check out tills which slow you down since almost every item was "unexpected"!

Fireworks going off yet again

Same here, the latest ones were at 1:15am today. I'd be annoyed anyway but more so because our crossed fell terrier who is as feisty as can be, and has to be on a lead when out because he regards any animal up to the size of a fox as prey, becomes a quivering wreck when there are fireworks.

And then they take 3 times as long to get out of the space

Gutted for you mate :( That exact same thing happened to me, after several false starts, over several months, same buyer, they finally totally dropped out the morning we were exchanging contracts !

Well I suppose it had to happen eventually, internet started to play up at the Thursday/Friday:mad:, got son round to check where the problem was and as I suspected it was the BT Smart Hub. So I had to fortify myself and get ready for the hell that calls its self BT customer services. Phoned them in the faint hope that in the preceding three years they had improved just a little raising their customer service standards from hell to just deplorable but that was soon crushed by the script reading t**t on the other end.
After I had explained that the lights on the hub were alternating between steady blue(working fine) steady orange(working but not connected to internet) flashing orange(connecting to internet) and the best steady red(there's a problem somewhere! no s**t Sherlock) and saying I thought basically the hub was knackered but no said they I could try a few things first, they get me to reboot the hub, connect to the hub wired and shut down and restart computer, amazingly none of this worked so I repeat that I think the problem is the hub but no no we can't jump to that conclusion they will have to send an engineer to determine the fault and it will only cot me £129.99:jawdrop:(pleasant surprise it used to be £150 I think) when I explained that there was no way I was going to pay for their engineer to change a hub I was told that it might not be the hub but my internal wiring( now you would think that they would change their scripts occasionally) I explain that this was the reason I left three years ago(why did they have to get all the live Champions League and Europa Cup coverage) and was prepared to do the same again, well says he if we can't send an engineer to check then there is nothing we can do. Yes there is let me talk to you supervisor, eventually get to talk to supervisor go through the whole scenario again thankfully without the rebooting, connecting and restarting bit, well they say without sending out an engineer there is nothing we can do yes there is I say transfer me to your escalation team or send me a new hub. Well I don't know if their escalation team are over worked(and I expect they are if people know about them) but they sent me a new hub arrived Monday morning now Tuesday evening and surprise surprise everything's working fine. Please let it be a good one so it lasts until their present Champions League and Europa Cup contract runs out and hopefully someone else gets it, it's only four more years nothing if you say it quick and I don't have to deal with this apology for customer services again for a very long time, I do love watching the Champions League and Europa Cup but I do have my limits.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

and it will only cot me £129.99:jawdrop:
When I had an issue recently, they only wanted to charge me £125. to send an engineer ..
You were being ripped off, more than I was :D ( I also declined btw)
I guess we both know that they make these things up as they go along ;)

We only got BT infinity a little over a year ago & tbh was dreading ever having to ring their cust. serv. after hearing a few horror stories :( (mind you we were previously with TT who truly were a frustrating Indian joke, who it is simply impossible to get lower standards)

Over the past week or so we've needed to ring them twice, re moving house, then not & transferring back!
Both times they were extremely helpful & both times UK call centres. (oop North somewhere & Lincoln) which surprised me.

Touch wood everything is OK & I don't need to ring them again though.

(mind you we were previously with TT who truly were a frustrating Indian joke,
Ah yes talk talk! How I miss their ineptitude :D

Both times they were extremely helpful & both times UK call centres.
TBH I found the live chat the easiest way to get a result, albeit some chap, or chapess with an unpronounceable name...
The call center was a Scottish lass, couldn't understand a bloody word she said ! At least with the written word, accents aren't a barrier..

Yep, it started with live chat (India  ) but she actually rang us back straight away & after explaining the problem we had she connected us through to the UK call centre. (y)

Odd how experiences differ.
I've never had cause to complain about BT customer services.
Hey ho.

The new version of Firefox. I like to have organised bookmarks, in nice little folders for specific subjects. However, getting to these folders is now very long winded, because it suggests the most visited - not what I want.
Does anyone know if you can revert back to the last version?

Atropine (or synthetic equivalent!) eye drops. Pupils like saucers so got screen brightness turned right down. Can't really complain since it was for an eye check but it's still bloody annoying having to write the rest of the day off!

Bookmarks menu is the same as always. Just use Bookmarks in the menu bar.... or it is like that on the Mac. Annoyingly most of my add ons now don't work including the add on compatibility checker

The neighbours lad who has a badly silenced 'moped' :(

Not only does he park it against our absent next door neighbours wall with a 'bang' each time..................................he leaves for work at 7am everyday and on my days off I do not want to woken up at that time :(

Then rather than keeping the revs low and considerate he seems to open the throttle wide and the noise reverberates around the close and street. I find it hard to believe that exhaust is legal. Just need to think how best to act on this bad behaviour........................FWIW this neighbour has 'previous' in regard to treating the area like their personal car park et al. So asking for him and his lad to be more considerate will fall on deaf ears!

Trying to get a GP to correct an error they made on a sick note, then trying to get a GP receptionist to post the the note to me because... “Hey guess what, getting to the surgery is really difficult - I’M SICK!!!!!”

Hey ho.
On the few occasions I've needed to call them, I've found BT to be slow, frustrating (put you on hold for half an hour then hang up) and incompetent.
So miles better than NTL and Orange, who are also dishonest.

The whole telecoms sector is basically a cartel of crapness so it makes little different which puddle of vomit you choose to lick.

WAMT was receiving a reminder in the post this morning. For a hospital appointment that was yesterday. Posted on Tuesday, 2nd class. Appointment was made on Monday, over the phone and even I can't forget that quickly! Such a pointless waste of resources which the NHS can ill afford. (Oh, and yes, I did attend the appointment!)

Following a catheter removal in hospital I had to drink water until I could pee into a machine to make sure I was passing fluids ok, I can understand this. What I don’t understand is receiving a letter from the hospital telling me how much fluid I passed, what the peak and average flow rates were. Pointless waste of resources:/

Actually, this has been annoying me for a few weeks!

A little over 2 weeks ago, I ordered a Goodgrips Serrated Rocker Knife, one of these:

Good_Grips_Serrated_Rocker_Knife (1).jpg

A few days later, they sent me one of these (note the lack of serrations):

good_grips_cutlery_rocker_knife (1).jpg

So, one phone call and apology later, they tell me they'll send the correct one and not to worry about sending the other one back.

So, a few days later, a package arrives, I open it with anticipation and.....

So, another phone call and a grovelling apology later, the promise to sent the correct one out.

I get home from work today and see a package awaits. I'm getting excited now, surely it's the correct one this time. So, I tear open the package in anticipation and.......

You're way ahead of me, aren't you?

Yep!

Perhaps it's not really serrated and was a poorly pixelated photo in the region of the blade edge. ;)

Not being allowed to leave work due to the Oxford Circus incident. But at least I'm safe...

Nationwide have really annoyed me today. They put a precautionary block on my card preventing me from making any purchases. Having spoken to them and verified that nothing unusual had happened they then told me that it the existing card was now void and a new one would be delivered in 5-7 days time. I appreciate i could have used other funding methods, but this would not have gone down well with the wife. As a result, I have missed out on a great external hard drive on amazon, and more importantly I missed out on a great deal on a 14-24mm lens on MPB. Absolute throbbers at nationwide. I'd been keeping my eye on the 14-24 for a while and had said to myself that if i was ever going to get one, today was the day. balls.

The muppet a few cars in front who insist on driving at under 30 in a 60 and hitting her brakes every couple of hundred yards for no apparent reason (we were behind her for 4 miles). W en we got to a small roundabout, she nearly caused an accident when she pulled out in front of a car turning from her right!

Late is better than at risk.
Hope all is ok.

Thanks for your concern, everything is fine.
Appears to be a non-event - just public hysteria.

On my way home, 2 hours after the original non-event, I still saw a group of maybe 30 people run past me in a panic. There was nothing behind them.

Travel insurance. Went on to AXA's website and got a quote. Went home and tried to pay for quote - it couldn't retrieve it. So I ran through it again, same questions, same answers. Price was now 15% higher. Ran through it again and quote was now 50% more than the original.

Ended up going elsewhere for cheaper.
