WAMT....what annoyed me today!

Could be worse, my mates dog likes to leave a nice squishy present on the carpet, my mates wife doesn't seem to find the funny side of it when she's walking around barefoot. :)

Wonderful feeling when it squishes between you toes, yep had a few pups in my life that did that,
but it doesn't hurt, and a quick rinse in the shower and it's gone (y)

You too ?
Especially when you step off a stool onto one and it goes straight through the ball of your foot which you don't realise till
someone points out the blood trail on the kitchen floor :(

How pished were you not to notice the pain? :wideyed: TBH, I'd far rather tread on a dog egg or in a pile of cat vomit in bare feet than on a plug.

Also I think I will put tissues in my bedroom to stop the necessity to get up half asleep to wonder into the lounge to get one, thus also avoiding stubbed toes

o_O

I thought we all (well, males) always had a box of tissues in our bedroom. :D

Not every one drinks too much and I certainly wouldn't climb on a stool if I was !
I have \ very n high tolerance to pain, which may sound good but as this shows, you don't always
realise how badly you may have injured yourself :(

Fed up of waking at 5am every morning bursting for a pee, then dog wants to go out so by the time I get back in bed I'm wide awake!!! Mind I did have our nature reserve to myself this morning as I took said dog for a walk at 6am. So not all bad.

Back in hospital 1am fast heartbeat. The nurses must be aged 20 years to 50 I suppose all working very hard, so do they need to put up with a very aggressive man who stormed out of a cubical swearing using terrible words and rushing at young nurses, complaining about waiting. I had to wait whilst my heartbeat settled down and you just have to wait. Anyway the police came and all night one policeman was inside the room whilst the other stood by the open door. I asked a nurse why can't you give him his notes and send him out, we have to treat him we have to. What I thought was terrible was that the nurse said we have these type of incidents all the time. What a terrible world we live in, well done nurses of Bangor hospital ( Ysbyty Gwynedd):ty:

@Shirleyr I hope you are feeling better love. What annoys me is the distance involved to travel by road to a major hospital. Nearly 30 miles from where you live and almost an hour to get there - the roads out that way are not that brilliant.. Our nearest major hospital is 17 miles and given that the ambulances run out of there, I can get to the hospital far faster than one of those can get to my house - unless there is one very nearby.

Hopefully there is nothing seriously wrong with you and I wish you well.

Thank you very much David, I got a terrible cold. The ambulance had to come from Barmouth that about 30 south from where I live, then to Bangor. They have to be careful not to go sort of fuel, as to where is open at night. Coming back was a nightmare I ended up being taken home with the Red Cross, as the hospital transport was only for disable and the elderly of which I will be very soon. I was discharged at 5.30am I couldn't ring friends at that time and the transfer lounge was closed bank holiday, so I was stuck. Home sweet home.

@Shirleyr The distances involved in your neck of the woods are stupid, particularly given that the ambulance had to come from Barmouth of all places. The UK really needs more major hospitals and in your area Pwhelli would IMHO be the best place. It is about time the government sorted out the NHS once and for all, stopped all this downsizing and outsourcing to private enterprise - that costs more than it would to provide services within the NHS itself. MOH is a practice manager at a local surgery and tells me that the money being wasted on outsourcing is absolutely criminal.

But back to you, Shirley you take it easy, take care and above all look after yourself. I'm glad to hear that you are back at home despite the stupid idiot in the next cubicle - probably should have been shot at birth ;)

Take care ma'am

David

Amazon and their deliveries. Looked at some tools and decided to order. The free delivery date was given for 20-22nd April which is perfect as wife would be home.

Delivery was then split into two parts. One arrived yesterday whilst I was out and about. The second is arriving today when no one's home.

That is why I have on various occasions used the 'delivery to collection location' typically for me the PO in a store a mile & half down the road.

Yes, I have various addresses stored in Amazon for just such occasions. A local shop, a deposit box, and the mother in law. In fact, Amazon helps you find your nearest one.
(not mother in law. There is an app for that)

WAMT....the length of time that bereaved people in this country have to wait for the funeral of a loved one.. Disgusting.

As I've been waiting three weeks for my mothers funeral and still another week to go I can only agree with you. It was not unexpected and a relief when she went at a good age. For others though that have young children involved or their partner I think it's disgusting.

My SIL died today after a long illness, yet we've already been told to expect a May funeral.
I might understand if there were questions surrounding the death, but no...it was an expected passing and no post mortem is required; yet still the ridiculous wait.

Please accept my best wishes to you and yours regrading your mother's passing.

Condolences to both of you and your families :(

And what a bloody nightmare, regarding the length of waiting time. Words fail me :(

Having washed the wound area on the hand surgery for first time last Friday I thought something was a little odd ~ it looked like something was trapped in the incision line.

Long story short, 2 hours in A&E and the duty ortho Dr got the surgeon out to look at it. He was at a loss as to what it is and how it could have gotten in the wound NB I thought it might be a fibre from swabs.....but he said 'looks like a hair' ~ I said a hair, where the heck could that have come from!!!

He tried to pull it out, exacting very acute pain on me. As due end of this week for post op appt we agreed he would sort it out under a local.

Just hope he does not have to cut it open.........though I do want him ensure he removes it 100% !

Why do some things that are supposed to be simple get complicated :grr:

+1 ^ I hope you both get much needed relief soon from the added stress it puts you under.

Power supply failure in my main rig

Luckily being a bit of a computer tech I had an old power supply in another rig that I was going to use for a HTPC so I swapped them out, the only issue is my old power supply was fully modular and the cable management in my rig was good, the old power supply is non modular and I even had to use a molex to sata adapter lead for one of the connections, not ideal but it gets me up and running again until I can sort it properly

I have no idea what you just said, and that annoy's me :D

WAMT? ( other than Keith :p )

Seems the highway code has been re-written without informing the majority of the motoring public!

It seems you now have to give way to people entering the roundabout, or so the pillock in a Merc thinks anyway, when I tried to point out the error of her ways!
I stand corrected :(

Don't forget some people own the roads........but you said Merc not Beemer

More seriously, their some pretty weird road layouts and markings! Made worse when the paint wears and the signage gets dirty :(

The price of modular power supplies :(

I bought the one that died on me 6 years ago, according to the invoice, so I guess it's had a good life, mind you another 6 years would have been nice

To get a like for like replacement will cost £15 more than it did 6 years ago

How are your earnings now in relation to what they were 6 years ago. In other words, how long does/did it take to earn the prices you paid?

The noisy bit at the back next to where the kettle lead goes in stopped being noisy. (y)

Oh! See, now that I understand!

Not today but when I was in New York a few weeks ago. Used Uber for the first time, all well and good, but thought it was just a way of getting a cab cheaply and quick - didn't realise it would pay for you (thought some email I had was a booking fee) so gave the driver the $15 fare in cash... no wonder he looked pleased!!! Then realised that the money comes out your account 30 mins later!!!
