WAMT was someone with a disabled badge parking on a narrow side street bang opposite a car park entrance/exit, making it very awkward for people to get into or out of the car park. IMO the car should have been ticketed (or even towed!) for causing an obstruction, especially since it could have been parked a few metres further back and not caused any obstruction. Plenty of empty disabled spaces available as well.

Were those bays available when they parked there? Even so, they shouldn't have parked where they'd cause an obstruction.
 
Yes, Marc, there were several vacant disabled spaces available (and the area is well served by the current equivalent of Traffic Wardens!) as well as a fair few areas of single yellows where no obstruction would be caused. Lots of pay and display slots too, which are free for blue badge holders (for 2 hours - the most you can pay for is 1 as a relatively able bodies party.) Merc sports car and I can't get up out of them easily, so how a disabled person could...

Sees odd to park that way if legitimate parking is available but some people are just inconsiderate.

Depends on the disability and circumstances I suppose. Getting out of a car like that and being unable to walk any distance don't necessarily go together.

The side road it was parked on is maybe 10 metres closer to the cathedral than the closest space that was available when we passed.
As you say, flexibility and mobility aren't always related.
 
Misspelled thread titles. In the Transport section alone, in the top 10 threads, there are at least 2.
 
MY F******* MAC! HOW I HATE THIS OBTUSE OS! I mean, how hard can it be to find a file? I know the name of the file so I open Finder, type the filename into the Search box and all it brings back are a list of source code files that contain the name of the file INSIDE them FFS!

I know little about Mac but does the search function have semi wildcard searching. On PC, this is good for finding files that even if I know the name I might have forgotten if I had mis spelled it or some other mis-remembered aspect?

e.g. in its most simple form if I cannot recall whether it was say Excel or Word I would search *.doc or *.xls

Sorry if I have stated the obvious ;)

I've no problem knowing the name of the file, its the obscure folder naming convention that the app uses to store files in that makes it anything but straightforward to find.

Well, after flying 13 hours and then driving another hour I'm in the slightly surreal situation of being in a village where the only shops are a big liquor store and a sex shop. That speaks volumes about what there is to do round here.

You have to drive a 40 minute round trip to get the post though. Why anyone chooses to live here is just beyond me

Lucky you, my new Car (Citroen) came with only 1 out of 2 Manuals 3 months ago and still cannot get the other one, waiting for Printers is the excuse.

Tried losing my wallet - not fun. Not tried the other so I'll take Nigel's word for that being similar! :P
 
If you tried both at the same time, I can hazard a guess where the wallet is...
 
That's so annoying.
I found a wallet when I was walking the dog once.
I checked through the contents and there was a phone number on a folded post-its, so I called it and said "Hello, I've found so-and-so's wallet, could you give him this number and tell him to give me a call?"
He was shocked that I returned it to him complete with all contents on the same day.
There was a hefty amount of cash in there, plus the usual accoutrements (cards, driving license etc), and having lost my purse once, I understand what a pita it is.

I hope replacing stuff goes smoothly.

Since my wallet was stolen with cards, cash, drivers licence, car papers and receipts, I now carry a small leather pouch with minimum cash and no cards unless I need it. I load up just what I need before I go out.

I once found a wallet stuffed with so much cash, it was almost round! It turned out to be a taxi drivers takings. But there was no ID or cards. Just some receipts. It took quite a bit of detective work over several days and several calls to track the very relieved person down. Who handed me a nice reward.

My wallet contained my weeks takings including cheques and cash,company credit & debit cards, personal cards and driving license. p***ed right off to say the least. Will I see it again? un-fricking-likely.
 
Some thieving scrote broke into Mrs Nod's Yoga studio last night. Took just over £100 in cash but none of the shop stock (a top mat costs £100 retail...) Broke a window to get in and a couple of filing cabinets to get at the cash. Didn't look to see if he/she was lying at the bottom of the scaffolding they had climbed up to gain access to the 2nd floor window - hopefully they'll have fallen and been lying there all night and day. Will pee on them if they're down there!

You beat me to editing to add that of course may be the case, (hence my questioning no?), then again if a relative moves to back of beyond s***e place they relinquish all guilt associated travel expectations imho.
