WAMT....what annoyed me today!

Problem solved! After checking and replacing the thunderbolt cable with another one, resetting the iPhone twice and resetting the car radio I found the problem.

When I reset the car radio it caused the CD, which I had bought and inserted in the CD player to listen to on the way home and then left in the player, to eject. It appears that if there is a CD in the player it somehow prevents the system from accessing the iPhone via the usb socket.

Dinner invite to-night, looking forward, got there and mentioned that the fairy lights on the tree had gone out. All evening someone was trying to fix them. This apprently had been going on for days, the tree had all the decorations falling off whilst the fairy lights were being mended.
Got home and I had left mine which should have looked very nice as I approached the door and there were no lights on, the stupid fairy lights had gone off.
Is it just us or are there other sets of fairy lights which are awkward, there is always one little bulb that has failed and the rest just go off in sympathy, so the job is finding the faulty one. It happens every year:bat:I could go for solar ones but how do they generate light with no sun in your living room.

I hope you didn't leave your fairy lights left on unattended?!

A cracked or bruised rib, just what I need at the busiest time of the year :banghead:
Bloody painful, I really should grow up and stop messing around

Yesterday and today: Migraine. Woke up yesterday and as soon as my eyes opened I felt like I was going to throw up, couldn't even think of eating anything so went back to bed, but the headache was so bad and the nausea so bad I couldn't actually do anything but sit there and suffer. Finally managed to sleep, spent most of the afternoon asleep, still couldn't face food in the evening and managed to sleep all night in fits and starts and still woke up tired this morning! I feel like I've gone 10 rounds with Tyson and all I've done is sleep! Haven't had one this bad in years! Yeuch.

My sympathies, suffered with chronic Cluster headaches for the past eight years so know how debilitating these neurological conditions are.

Have you tried Sumatriptan? I believe its often effective for Migraine or perhaps try one of the other Triptans
Injections work quickest, nasal spray is also good, but have been unavailable for a while and tablets also work albeit slower.
Find that for some reason Imigran is more effective than the generic makes, but could just be in my case

Stupid banks! That's the 5th cash machine I've been to today that's had "insufficient funds"

No heating this morning. Batteries had gone flat in the Tado and it hadn't emailed me as normal to warn me. First sign was it losing signal over night for a bit the night before last then it was dead by this morning!

Poxy Hotpoint tumble dryer recall debacle. Engineer turned up this morning with a new back panel. Turns out that, as the old panel has vents but the new one doesn't, he can't fit it as it would then be prone to overheating (wasn't this the whole point of the recall?) so our only option appears to be to buy a replacement for £100.

So apparently we have a tumble dryer which has a potentially dangerous manufacturing fault that cannot be repaired and we have to pay for a replacement?

I'd go straight to BBC watchdog with that one! If there is a suitable alternative panel that exists then they need to be fitting that. It can be repaired but they turned up with the wrong part. Not your fault. Theirs.

That was Mrs fabs' reaction, she's on it! :D

Blimey, what a useless lot, I bought a new one from them for 59 quid, couldn't be bothered messing about waiting for a modification

Good luck getting yours sorted

If the old panel is vented, why not just refit it?

We're having new doors put in at the back of the house and the builders have cancelled less than three weeks before the Glazing company is due to start !!!!

Merry ******* Christmas, Haskins & Morrow

I couldn't even take tablets, the odd sip of water was all I managed all day! The residual headache has only just left me today.

I'm quite lucky to not get serious attacks very often, been a good few years since one that bad and this is the first one that's wasted an entire day, though maybe not as memorable as the one where my sight went funny during Science GCSE exam and I was reading the questions through my remaining peripheral vision and guessing where to write the answers, or the one before my driving test that made my left side all numb. I know some people who have a bad one every month or so, must be hell.

This morning, a very high proportion of people driving grey, white or silver vehicles in fog with no lights on. Especially the ones travelling at 50mph in the outside lane of a dual carriageway.

Makes a difference from people using fog lights as soon as there's a tiny bit of mist. I do think people need training on what constitutes fog and when to use their foglights. A TV/internet campaign would work great for this.

One foggy morning last week, a driver in the distance, turned his fog lights off (I guess they thought the fog was no longer thick enough. The car just disappeared as the normal rear lights weren't visible through the fog. A car is better to be seen rather than not at all.

Number port still not completed. It has to be done within a business day and the new sim still hasn't got the number. Old one lost service first thing this morning. Now wondering if I'll have any mobile service for the whole of Christmas

Inconsiderate parking:(

I stopped at the local station in the short term zone exactly within the centre of the box. Came to my car and found a 4x4 tight in on the nearside and to insult to injury a people carrier parked within 6 inches to the offside........ How on earth I thought did the driver exit the vehicle.

There were young kids inside playing about and the alarm sounding.........approx 3 mins later the female driver appeared and without a bye or leave, or acknowledgement that I had been inconvenienced she opened the passenger door telling the kids to stop messing about as "that man is waiting to get into his car...."

I was kind of dumbstruck, how she had the gall to not even apologise to me was yet another example of "I'm entitled, aren't I" All I could do was just look and shake my head :(

I was brought up to be considerate to others and treat others how I would wish to be treated, is that message now dead?

At least she acknowledge your existence, she could have told the kids to shut up and gone off again :D

If she had done that and locked her kids in the car as it seemed she had I would have spoken and told her I have made a note of her plate and I am now calling the police to report child abandonment, that would i surmise have shifted her should she have acted as you suggested ;)

Why oh why are some so lacking in consideration for others! A bit sad really, as that is the attitude they are 'training' their children to have.

Annoying as it may have been....good luck proving that, tbh.
Granted ;)

Edit:- though the suggestion that I was about to make such a call I surmise would have had the right effect!

The prospect of fighting our way down to one of the busiest junctions in town to collect commercialmas and the return journey.

However!!!

Number still not ported. Now reading horrendous reviews on Trust Pilot which suggests Plusnet Mobile are appalling and useless and I'll be without my main number for weeks as they can never sort out cocked up ports in a reasonable time :( Rather miffed that MSE would have a deal with such an incompetent company.

Thread closure simply using the excuse of the date.

Yawn

Did any of you have a Christmas baby? we need to have a celebration now Christmas is nearly over.:wideyed:

Did any of you have a Christmas baby?
I did (y)

But I think it could have done with another 20 mins @ 180°C
as it was still a bit pink in the middle...
