WAMT....what annoyed me today!

The weather, the traffic and then no parking where I was trying to visit, then the weather again. That was just 20 minutes worth!

Not being able to justify an X-Type estate to myself to replace the s***box Clio. The X-Type would be too big for what we use the s***box for and is too nice to lob dirty bikes into. Just have to look for a Kangoo or similar.

Yep those pouches are pretty damned handy
The leathers good for making falconry furniture as well ...
:)

I still want a 'roo nutsac as a golf ball carrier!

Seriously, be wary of X Types, the sills are made of cheese.

My youngest son has a new Ford Kuga Titanium X with the Thule bike roof bar fittings. Surprised me at just how good it is with te 180ps diesel engine. That said, however, he is 6'2" and the height of the Kuga still leaves him struggling to load the bikes! Not a problem for your s***box Clio surely? Many years back I got 2 x Tandems and a Tourer on the roof of a Mini Countryman.... just the 1 time out and back London to the New Forest Youth Hostel mind [emoji54]

Would a Occtavia VRS Estate (ex Police) not be of interest to you?

No! Did rather fancy being a 3 Jag family but even though the one I was considering is very clean and straight, the requirement is for an all but disposable vehicle that's easy to park, easy to hose out (if necessary) and big enough to take a couple of bikes without too much dismantling. The X-Type estate only meets the last one and that's probably the least important. We have 2 nice, comfortable cars so the s***box's condition is fairly unimportant as long as it's sound (the current Clio is well dented on the roof [including a circle where a bottle seems to have been slammed onto it!]) and a decent runner.

Car drivers travelling at 30mph in a 30mph limit slowing to 20mph just because they're driving past a speed camera :banghead:

Cocked up loading film into a new to me camera so I'm pretty certain I have a whole roll of nothing. Very annoyed with myself. At least it was only Vista. Last time I did this it was delta 3200, 20 years ago.

Finding out that one of the most helpful of my colleagues who hasn't been well for a while has a tumour on his pancreas :(
I just hope it proves to be treatable, we enjoy a lot of banter, at 50 he doesn't deserve this

Fingers crossed for him, Ingrid. Nobody deserves a tumour anywhere.

Smokeless coal is more expensive but cleaner and more friendly to the environment, so I buy some had it delivered and it was cleaner but just happened to look at the chimney this afternoon and guess what?:bat:

Sadly, pancreatic cancer is one of the most difficult to overcome.
My mother and grandfather succumbed.
Medical science has moved on though, and I wish him luck in his battle.

Are you sure that's not just condensing water vapour?

Cyclists, at night, riding on cycle lanes / pavements on the wrong side of the road with their bright LED lights aimed straight at oncoming traffic instead of the ground in front of them.

Thanks Nod, just had a 2nd guy taken into hospital, went in for a check up of frozen shoulder and kept for pnuemonia, possibly worse pending]
checks, Christmas is gonna be tough this year :(

My brother has been admitted last night, a complete break down. Got made redundant and just couldn't cope, such a sad laddie. His wife is a star she been caring for their three children and trying to get my brother back on course but after he went into a garage and bought an Audi for £32,000, of which he does not have that sort of money, just a normal family. At first she thought it was a joke then well yesterday was not a good day for them and now he's in hospital. Such is life, thank goodness our parents are not here to see what a mess and I never thought I'd say that. I think that with great care he will improve, they are now getting help he has needed for some time.

You have my sympathy, hopefully he will be better soon.

My sister-in-law will visit to-night. The hospital usually changes his tablets and sends him home, there is and never was any violence but his words and ways are not for his 12yr daughter. I think now his wife has said for the sake of the children she has decided that he cannot come home, he has to be cured one way or another. Talking to one of the children on the phone I can hear a much happier child.

The cycling pricks must have taken note of my post. Today it was a cyclist dressed in black with a pathetic small, barely visible flashing white LED light front and back in the dark this morning. And this evening again in the dark, another dressed in black and no lights and both in the road as no cycle lanes.

Any one know where I can buy a load of cheap paddles ?
Think we are going to need them at work to clear Christmas this year :runaway:

Not the white stuff, I live up a lane and we always getted blocked. The gulf stream is suppose to stop all that. When you say paddles do you mean snow of water. Spade for snow a bucket for water.

I have a feeling that Ingrid may be up a well known creek, hence her need for water paddles.

you got it Nod(y)

I hope not - I've been taking the tablets to prevent it! ;)

Not having any snow :(

Looks like I have Metatarsalgia - which is basically like walking with shoes filled with marbles, or sometimes feels like your bones are sticking out the bottom of your foot, unpleasant as hell. Docs on Tuesday to see how bad it is going forward. Looks like the killer heels for the Christmas do are out

Boiler packed up for second time in 72 hours - and being told that we are not a priority and have to wait until Tuesday for an engineer. Whilst I understand the priority concept, it really doesn't sit right. It is flipping cold. Yes British Gas Homecare it is you.

Having a good, tame plumber is usually better than having BG's "care" type package.

WAMT is the charity car park just opposite Mrs Nod's studio deciding that since it's commercialmas, they can double their charge from £4 to £8 for all day parking. The closest council car park is £6.20 for all day. Didn't actually affect us, since we only needed an hour and street parking was free before 11 but it did mean we had to hand around for a couple of people who were expecting to pay £4 so only had £4 in their pocket (another annoyance - carry some cash! You never know when you'll need it!) along with their card (which the council car park accepts.)

There's a street in town called Chute Street and that used to be called S**t Street since it was an open sewer before being culverted.
A crap place to live no doubt !
