WAMT....what annoyed me today!

BT Infinity 1 is giving you 7/8mbs upload? Hmm that could be interesting.

My wife is on Infinity 1. Her connection usually runs at about 40 mbs download, and > 9 mps upload, using wifi with the BT Hub. I've never bothered hooking up a cable connection to check the speeds, because that's more than fast enough for browsing and the odd mail, which is all it's used for.

Great to hear the feedback that the upload speeds are there. So either I can't read or their documentation isn't any good. Hmm might have to do another price comparison.

The winter sun - it was low enough yesterday morning that I couldn't see and had to drive at clutch speed until it dipped below a house. Need to find my sunglasses.

Satnavs that tell you the wrong speed limits on roads that must have had limits in place since limits were invented. I.E. telling me the limit's 60 in a village with roads so cluttered and bendy that it can't be negotiated safely even at the posted 30. And saying it's 60 when it's been 50 or 40 for several years!

People with pushchairs stopping for a chat in an extremely congested area of town on a Saturday lunchtime. Side by side. Talkholes flapping, think holes closed.

As you may have seen, I've made the switch to BT - well on paper for now, should be done on 21/11. Thanks all, another annoyance turned into a wcmut :)

You can update them you know :)

But...but...but... that means taking your eyes off the tw@nav!

I do, it's top-of-the-range with lifetime updates but still keeps repeating the same false data. I assumed that authorities responsible for road and speed limit changes had some sort of central database where every tweak to road design etc would be recorded for the use of interested government departments, emergency services, and satnav producers but perhaps this for some bizarre reason actually doesn't happen.

And the reason I'm aware of the issues I grumbled about is because I DO read the road signs!

It is why I just don't use those kind of systems anymore. Something like Waze is a million times better and as up-to-date as you want it to be. Further more clever cars actually don't use the Satnav information but read the signs and repeat them together with the speed pulse system of the vehicle. If it is downloadable updates rather than cloud maps then you are still reliant on when they will update it. I'll never go back to such a system.

Satnavs really should be "relied" on for directions only.
Speed limits?... Eyes open.

Forgetting to take the bay leaves out of the soup before whizzing it (n)

Just caught the end of a programme on More4 about the contribution of the RAF 303 squadron of Polish pilots.

The WAMT was something I had not appreciated, the appalling post war treatment & alienation of the brave men that served our country so loyally.

Shame on us at that time :(

Intrigued.....
I know what it says and I guess that also annoys you :D

( its not terribly exciting BTW )

What really annoyed me to-day, I'm expecting my new tv to be delivered sometime to-day. The amount of stupid phone calls that I've had, all numbers that seem genuine. Hello they say are you the home owner or are you Mrs. so and so, or something to do the ppi. I'm waiting for the deliverey man to say he is lost yet again and I'm trying by best not to be rude. How many elderly people who are stuck at home have to put up with such idiots.

I have to screen all my bloody calls because of this. I now google every number and then block it if it looks like a PPI type thing.

Enter number into telephone preference service. Wait a month. Anyone that calls after that you report to the ICO and get them fined.

Anonymous call reject is also very good at getting rid of scumbag cold callers.

Everytime I sign up for another year with RAC or AA or whoever I end up with a load of spam email as well. Why can't the law be your details are NEVER passed on.

The sun is terrible when it flickers through trees.

They must have very loud voices.

Do these foreign climes also export apostrophes?
The trouble with all these phone calls is that when you pick up the phone and say Yes in a very cross tone and the caller turns out to be a friend.

Overseas and withheld numbers (IF they get answered!) get answered with a terse "What?" I only answer them because we have friends in Greece and some numbers that call through an internal switchboard get reported as withheld (among others, the Doctors' surgery).

To be fair, it's pretty easy to get lost trying to find your place, Shirley. :D

I'm getting a call about three times a day from "Unknown".
No idea who it is, but it ain't getting answered.

Stupid people!!! To be more precise those that constantly moan that chocolate bars are smaller than they used to be!

Costs increase so companies can either increase the price or reduce the amount you get - no big loss (and in these times of obesity not a bad thing) - if you really are a fat f*****r who needs more just buy 2 (or many now do a 'jumbo size' bar. Take today... some people are 'distressed' over the toblerone changes... get a life!

It's dead easy, say Hello politely, when it turns out to be a sales call, say Goodbye and put the phone down (y)

WAMT another 12 hour work day and I'm only supposed to do 7 :banghead:
Bloody idiots I work with seems to be happening more often atm:mad:

This might be something extremely trivial, but it involved these modern times we live in where everyone relaxes on the sofa and browses these very forums on the TalkPhotography app.

Say I find a sub section where I would like to share one of my photos from flickr. From experience I know it's a lost cause, but I have had my fair share of hair pulling trying to edit a post just to properly show a shared photo to the point where I would rather just get up and do it within a minute on the PC.

That Annoyed Me "again" Today!

Hot water anyone, omg. I bought a bag of those cobbles to see if they would burn better than coal. Dead gorse is good too. Its was windy here and the fire roared and so I switched the pump on for the radiators and realised the water was near to boiling. It was really don't panic Mr. Mannering, all I could do was to turn the hot water taps on and get rid of the hot water, one hour it took. Soil on the fire to get the dam thing out. Knackered I am but normality has resuumed.
