WAMT....what annoyed me today!

Interesting? We have one that is definitely a soakaway though the rear of the house we have diverts into a butt but does overflow into the drains.
I forgot to say the water board sends an inspector to take photos of the said drains.

Supposedly, yes. Using a different card in the future. Have used that card before and since. Always paid in full before due date. Only use a CC for the extra protection it gives.

CC booboo then, not BB co. :-)

Yet you bytch about changing suppliers when it's not their error. ;) o_O

I pay my 'phone and BB bill using my CC - or that's the plan
What a balls up ! I'd be p***ed off too.

I make very few calls and would be happy paying for them on a PAYG basis using my mobile.
Sooner or later someone will twig, and make a "killing" on line for BB only.
I've not used my LL in years...
Mobile, £16 month, unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 2Gb data ( sim only)

WAMT, hearing that some low life has stolen message card laid with a wreath by Prince Charles at Aberfan. For the life of me , I cannot understand why some toss-pot would or could stoop so low.

BT have it in the pipeline.

If the CC company asked you to confirm the payment, then still didn't put it through, sounds more like the CC co f***ed up, not the BB provider.
Is it set up for auto payment?
I once paid my phone and broadband bill with the Post Office with auto payment thing and the following week had a red bill warning what would happen if I didn't pay the bill immediately. Onto the phone I went and all they said was don't reply on the auto payment thing, its rather unreliable.

This time. Last time and the time before, it was them who screwed it up. Service is fine, it's just paying them that's a PITA.

Went out to have coffee with a friend.

Came back in to NO ELECTRICITY !!

That was fun - trying to see if it was me at fault - and finally through various devious routes discovered a very local substation was out

Power just restored - now to reset time clocks etc - of the joys of that.

You should have left everything till w/end ........................... clocks go back. :D

That'll be WAMOS!!!

Started a job I have been wanting to do for a long time only to find my tubes of silicone have gone off? bought 4 weeks ago, but date of expiry that I did not look at when buying was 2013......

Driving up a slip road onto the M74 this morning

half way up it is a sign that says

"This slip road will be closed from 28 Oct to 31 October " !!

Yeh - right.

Why place the notice half way up it and NOT before you get to it ?

Coming back the other way - on the slip road off was another one

" This slip road will be closed on xxx for y days " !! [ can't remember the exact days - but I seem to feel it was for a longer time interval ]

Why half way down it where it can't be seen till you are on the darn road ??

3 weeks ago we were told that we had to swap vans, so everyone got to use one with a tracker, no problem a couple of swapped our tracked vans
with a couple of the others for a month.
Went on hols 2nd week and came back to find the van I was supposed to using was in for service, been away nearly 2 weeks now, seemswhen it
was ready one of the other offices was short of vans so it went there.
In the meantime I was left with a VW transporter type which is impossible to get round the rural area I deliver to, drives are just too narrow. only one guy
offered to swap with me for a rather grubby but usable van.
This week things were finally sorted and I've had a rather nice brand new Peugeot Partner with all air con, bluetooth, reverse sensor screen etc. and guess what
everyone has been waving tatty old van keys at me in the hope I will swap, they seem to be under the impression and I can only drive one type of van !!!
Idiots, sadly it's going tomorrow and I have a vauxhall back

WAMT: Broadband update. So I was looking what options are available this year and see if I can save some money. Looks like I can based upon the cashback site, however ....

There seems to be a new algoritm in place for ALL providers where they don't provide the option buy a service that you can't fully utilise. Smells like typical government interference and it really annoys me.

So today I pay for a 76MB service but I know I don't get more than 44MB. The reason I am happy to do that is because I also get like 9MB uploads. But now the automated systems all estimate my capability as 27-38MB download and do not show the full service options, none of them do. Therefore the uploads also get limited to 2MB GRRRRRRR

Who was the smart arse putting in such a crippled system. I'm happy with around 40MB down, but I am not happy with 2MB up.

Looks like I better stay on my tarrif as I'll never get such upload speeds again :(

but I am not happy with 2MB up.
Until I switched to BT infinity 1 ( recently) I was getting less than 0.5 upload,
I now get between 7&8 mbs up load.

And even on my old antiquated copper FTTC system I'm getting circa 26mbs download.
£12/ month for 12 month contract, + phone line

BT Infinity 1 is giving you 7/8mbs upload? Hmm that could be interesting.

And its signal is strong enough to reach the length of, oh 8 London busses. Or the Dallas cheerleading team laid end to end. "Hi Ryan!", "Hello Ladies"
Or 80 curly-wurlies, which, I hear, are an english delicacy.

God I'm fed up with that advert.:banghead:

Having said that its down a tad at the moment, but a speed test taken 30 seconds ago.

I've no idea what the hell you are on about, but its reinforcing the points I make about not watching TV

I don't want a Wifi Access point - just need a good modem. I've got much better equipment than what BT will give away for 'free'. And yes I fully agree, that add annoys me as well.

BT'll charge you 50 quid for the pleasure, which I think is a bit of a p*** take TBH, as it allows others ( BT with fon) to use your WiFi.
Although BT claim they will never slow you down, and always give preference to your home system, over an outsider.
Its one of their opening sales pitches, ( you can turn it off) and as yet I've not been anywhere where I can log on to "free" WiFi.
Not that I hang around major cities...

lol I can't even reach my own wifi within our own home. No chance for anyone out on the road connecting to it either ;)

I'd be surprised if you couldn't with this TBH, its (another) one of their selling points, out performs all the rest apparently ....

But who knows for sure Eh?

ROFLMAO No I most definitely wont be able to, I really don't see how their freebie modem, router, firewall, wifi access point in one can do that. Interestingly their add show them going up in the air, that is exactly how it works in my house. If all the rooms were on top of each other it would be fine. Unfortunately the signal has to go diagonal through walls and ceilings and floors. There is no way it would reach my office whilst maintaining speed and stability.

You can opt out. ;)
