It's also the Spanish word for hurricane. But the name was inspired by Spanish bullfighting, as are a few other Lamborghini models. Huracan was a bull that fought in 1879.

Maybe that is why the neighbours didn't like it, nothing to do with it being noisy, or owned by a black teenager. They are just some weirdos against bullfighting.

Considering the last thread we had on here regarding bull fighting that must be the most logical reason.

As pointed out, he was also a fighting bull - IIRC, all Lamborghinis (if named) are named after fighting bulls.

Have a look at the Lamborghini badge, it features a very prominent fighting bull. Lots of their cars are named after fighting bulls or ranches.

Never being likely to own one, I'd not given it that much thought TBH, but yep it makes sense now.

It's because they are souped up Tractors aren't they? I mean where of where did John Deere go wrong. I mean look at what Lamborghini produces nowadays, far cry from their farm machinery ;)

I believe my old TR2 was powered by Massey Ferguson engine, that wouldn't surprise me TBH :D

Supple and demand? I don't know. The TR5 was/is my favourite, because I always liked the body styling - more than the TR6 - and the bigger 2.5 engine. Prices for good ones are crazy now, but I wouldn't want one in the UK and they're rarer than hens teeth in SA.

The 5 was an up rated 4 / 4a and shared the same Pi straight 6 as the TR6 Although IIRC carbs were used on the export model.
 
Did anyone know with water bills if you have a drain which takes the rain off the house which goes into a soakaway, then you can have a rebate off your yearly bill. When I say its in the small print, if the print was any smaller it would become small dots. So recently I claimed for the first time for 5 soakaways and I've had a rebate for, wait for it £400. Apprently this has been going for years but if you don't claim you don't get. The board only goes back one year, my Dad and I have lived in this house for 34 years and paid about £500 per year. I'm writing this to tell you, get those bills out and read the small print on the back. Amazing but true.

You're right about the carbs, for the US market anyway. I liked the 2.5l straight 6, just didn't care for the 'different' body styling of the TR6. I have a feeling the TR5 was an interim model too, and made in limited numbers? Might go some way to explaining the prices nowadays!
 
WAMT. Lack of proper public Electric vehicle charging infrastructure around the Peak District and cold weather making an in range jaunt not one.

Really hoping Shell will come good on their promise to have charging points in their petrol stations from 2017.

Interesting? We have one that is definitely a soakaway though the rear of the house we have diverts into a butt but does overflow into the drains.
 
Went out to have coffee with a friend.

Came back in to NO ELECTRICITY !!

That was fun - trying to see if it was me at fault - and finally through various devious routes discovered a very local substation was out

Power just restored - now to reset time clocks etc - of the joys of that.

If any of the water runoff drains into a sewer, there's no entitlement....same goes if you divert any into a waterbutt.

I pay my 'phone and BB bill using my CC - or that's the plan. My CC company texted me a few days back to check if I was trying to make a payment to the BB/'phone company and I replied saying YES. I figured that all was fine until I tried to make a call yesterday and we had been cut off. Several calls later, I now pay using a different medium and should be able to check the payments have gone through more easily. I'd much rather get a bill and pay it in person, at least then I KNOW it's happened properly!

Had your BB/phone company warned you of imminent disconnection?
Cut off after just a few days of a missed payment is bad enough, but they have to inform you first that they're going to do it.

In mine normally a good 70 miles if I charge to the first cut off but 85 if I restart it and have the full 30 odd minutes.

Current EVs are pretty poor for range. The next lot are 200 mile cars rather than 100 as most are really city cars not cross county mile munchers.
 
Via a letter predating the text telling me to ignore it if I had paid. Since AFAIK I HAD paid, I ignored it. They know that if they FU again, I'll shift suppliers, although all seem as bad as each other. TBH, if it wasn't for the internet, I'd ditch the landline completely - I make very few calls and would be happy paying for them on a PAYG basis using my mobile.
 
If the CC company asked you to confirm the payment, then still didn't put it through, sounds more like the CC co f***ed up, not the BB provider.
Is it set up for auto payment?
