WAMT....what annoyed me today!

You wouldn't like to come and collect the empties would you?
(Bring a trailer :D )
Christ, no!
That wasn't part of the agreement!!

yet having only made 50 messages and yet you have full privileges.
I spend my most of my time typing up RTM acknowledgements (the mods are too lazy to do it themselves). Full privileges are a perk of the job.
Things are a lot easier now that small touch screens are a reality, so I have time to get out of the dungeon and watch the members.
Thank you, Ma'am. :)

WAMT was when my 'new' lens, an 80-200 f/2.8 arrived. All lovely jubbly, parcelled up really nicely. Took it out of the box, strapped it onto the body and then notice the focus mechanism is more than likely to be on its last legs. very noisy, notchy at the end of its travel, and generally not 'excellent condition' as it was described.

Gutted really as i head to the post office to send it back :(

Only a slight annoyance but...

DHL attempted to deliver a package yesterday at some time "Before end of day". I had the option of them trying again today (same delivery window...) or having it delivered to a convenient place - in my case, a Ryman's in the city centre. Coincidentally, Mrs Nod had a package for them (DHL) to collect and for convenience had arranged it to be collected from Ryman's (unbeknown to me at the time.) She attempted to deliver her package this morning but was told they couldn't accept it without the paperwork (that the DHL driver was supposed to be [and was] bringing with him so she brought it home. She then arranged for the driver to pick it up from home, at which point he said "Oh! I've just delivered a parcel to Ryman's that I tried to deliver to you yesterday, I could have dropped that off at the same time if I'd known!" IF we'd known the delivery/collection time, we'd have been able to ensure one of us was in to receive the one and hand over the other but unlike some other delivery companies, they don't offer any idea of a delivery time.

Never mind, I have a nice new watch adorning my left wrist and Mrs Nod has disposed of a box from the sofa so all's well despite the minor inconvenience. Good excuse for a quick trip out on the bike.

That'll be one of them thar "movement" winders then :D

Salford. Who decided joining a dual carriageway from the wrong side was a sensible idea? Why on earth make people use a slip road to join the outside lanes. It's just madness.

Ah yes, that'll be the same person that switched the A14 run off, from the near side lane of the M6 to the out side lane,
so now you have lorry's fighting for lane 3 among fast moving cars, so they can leave the M6 onto the A14...
To quote Ron Weasley, Bloody brilliant!

So many threads where people ask questions or for suggestions then never revisit the thread again.

Bad manners not to even say thank you even if you have ignored the input, I have started prompting the absentees for an update

Absolutely. Even if you check on the threads afterwards while not logged in (as we know, quite a few people will browse the forum as "guests" and only log in if they actually wish to post something), if there's been replies, it's only common decency to pop back in and say "thanks"...

Citizen Eco-Drive - solar powered and radio controlled. The automatic/self winder is in for CLA at the moment (besides, I'm right handed! :P)

"99, change hands!"?

Trying to avoid a huge lorry to-day pulled over and caught my wing mirror on someones stupid wheelie bin sticking out too far in the road, the mirror bent right in and now I have a hole in the bottom of it.

Suicide squad.

All ready to watch a decent, big budget, hyped up film, only to be left feeling let down and annoyed at terrible acting, woefully cast actors and pitiful storyline.

Windows 10 anniversary update
Automatically installed and now can't get the start menu, task bar is empty and who knows what else doesn't work...... why do they have to muck about with stuff!!!!!
Currently running a start menu troubleshooter on the Microsoft support site but it's been over an hour sat doing apparently chuff all.
Aaaaaaaagh!!

Yes, my mum's pc has also updated and stopped working, and is paying someone to fix it, and my colleague has been having a nightmare with the update too.

Time to jump ship?

First day of really crap weather. Wasn't actually too bad earlier but almost as soon as I'd picked up the X-T2 it started getting greyer and greyer! Gives me a chance to get the batteries charged though.

After a bit of searching I've found how to roll back to my previous win 10 that worked fine and all working again.
There were no available system restore points so had to get into the troubleshoot mode and do it from there.

Can't you roll back the weather and restore last month?

Discovered the other day that coming off the A14 to join the M6, you have to go into the right-hand lane of the A14, seems counter-intuitive. Once on the M6, you have to contend with 2 lanes of M1 traffic joining the M6 from the left.
We spent some time in San Diego a few years back, and to get from the city to our hotel involved a slip road dropping us onto the outside ("fast") lane of a 5-lane freeway and having to move across to the inside lane in around half a mile to exit the freeway again. Fortunately American drivers seem generally disciplined, understanding, and accommodating. Like British drivers used to be once.

WAMY was a "mobile" home. More like a full sized bungalow on a truck! Very nearly made me late for an appointment and did make me miss my lunch.

Son see's postie coming up the path, as he was expecting a little something, "Signed for"
Opens door only to be handed the "red card" Oh I didn't expect anyone to be in
OK so if it was a roll of carpet, you could maybe understand why, but a blue ray?
You pay for postage then have to do the 3 miles ( for us) to go collect it.

If i don't call at a customers as I "Didn't expect any rat activity this week" ( there is "Y" in the day, AND an "R" in the month" )
I'm sure the environmental health would accept that, for a gap in their log book, as a legitimate reason too!

Tell the postie to go get the package!

I would have done, sadly I wasn't home at the time. Yes they can be re-delivered, but there is no guaranteeing someone will be in when it arrives, still,
at least they would have truly tried ( hopefully) :D

I'm rarely home, so I always get parcels delivered to a nearby shop or the local post lockers if I get home too late for the shops. In which case they SMS me a pin to open the locker.

Which is great, but if it's supposed to be delivered to my address, I don't expect to have to collect it when I'm home to take delivery.

Exactly!

I'm not defending him in any way. It annoys me so much as to take alternative measures.

Legally you are allowed to keep the postman hostage until the parcel has been delivered.

But then he'd expect food and liquid. ... :(

Besides our postie is female, that may cause an issue or two :D

I though you always tied birds down with leather straps.
