i recall having the same problem last year. I normally go for the whole package except Europe. RAC wanted something in the region of £200-250 for renewal. New customers were offered the same deal for £100 or so. Dumped them and went to AA for the same price and got a £75 fuel card too! These damned auto renews. Its a good job I checked the "final figure" in very small print on the back of page 2!
Same here and, yet they charged me £175 last year, it just goes to show how they must make these figures up as they go alongI normally go for the whole package except Europe.

I never doubted it, for a minute! Now you know whose convenience they are looking out for![]()
Amazon...Prime membership guaranteed next day delivery... isn't!
I went to order something on Saturday and the blurb says "Want it next Tuesday? order in the next blah blah and choose Next Day delivery at checkout"
A couple of months ago I could order on a Saturday or even early Sunday and have it delivered on Monday but no longer and it's even happening on weekdays too. Prime is becoming an expensive waste.
Amazon...Prime membership guaranteed next day delivery... isn't!
I always go for the cheapest ( usually free) option.Conversely, my order from Amazon last Wednesday, completed using the cheapest delivery possible and with a delivery date of 11-13 July, arrived on Thursday 7th.![]()
I always go for the cheapest ( usually free) option.
And never had to wait the "predicted" lead time for delivery, its usually only a couple of days.
Whether of not living 5 miles from a massive Amazon distribution centre has any baring on that, I don't know.
Its probably the Island connectivity itself, if it is as bad as Cyprus then there is hardly anything you can do about it.WAMT is the steam powered wireless network here. Slower than a loris. At least it's free (but still overpriced!)
We're back from holiday, JP! The wi-fi on Crete is variable and depends very much on how many people are sharing the network and what they're doing. Get someone streaming live TV and it can all but stop but be the only one on the beach using it and it's perfectly acceptable, even if it's not as fast as here at home. The slow network is at the golf club and while they claim the whole bar area is covered, it was decidedly patchy where I was sitting earlier and I think their version of the hamster is very much an early model! TBH, I don't often use it out there but I was very early for today's round so was trying to waste a few minutes on here - FAIL!
Damn, reading this really annoys me. Note To Self: As I work from home why the bloody hell didn't I take the family and myself for the whole of the summer to the Med. Grrrrr that really annoyed me, I'm still conditioned to think like sitting in an office :banghead::banghead::banghead:Mrs Nod runs her business through her phone and it's no real hardship to be soaking up the rays and answering dumb ass queries! Probably less annoying than sitting at home doing the same thing. I usually take a laptop/netbook for quick edits and backups of shots as well as a tablet for watching films of my choice during the flights. Assorted nationalities were watching some sort of poofball thing that was going on while we were away and wanted the commentary in their native language - should learn Greek!!!
I've had one meeting in June in person, and another tonight which is quarterly get together. I actually have shared workspace subscription incase I need it, but I have a lovely office at home with space for 3 people to workShe can't teach her UK classes from the beach but runs the rest of the studio quite happily from it. Very little to do other than invoicing, answering dumb ass queries (to which 99% of the answers are on the website, a click away from her contact details!) and sorting minor (or, very occasionally, fairly major) problems that arise . IIRC there was one of her classes (out of about 20 while we were away) that earned her less than the covering teacher got paid to do the cover but the rest covered that minor loss more than adequately!
I have a cousin whose nominal office is in London but who works from a shared workspace (? hot desking ?) about 2 minutes walk from his home. Goes up to the main office once a month or if absolutely necessary.
Plenty of flights from pretty much all Med destinations should you need to get back for any unmissable meetings!
Just double check that your'll be allowed back in the country firstBooking my villa for next year soon![]()
I feel your pain, I had one of those, awhile back admittedly. 10 mins either side of the time, I was in the front garden, erm, gardening.W Really, Really AMT - waiting in for a delivery then getting an email saying 'we tried to deliver to you but there was no-one in' (oh no you didn't and oh yes there was).
Just get your wife a Honda Jazz for her dad. She can drive him around thenWAMY. Wife poking her nose in where it isn't wanted. With both my son and my car insurance policies up for renewal and my son able to get an employee discount for his, I wrote out my insurance details for him to get a multicar policy. First bit that annoyed me was the wife pokes her nose in and reads it, only saving grace was she left it where she found it instead of hiding/losing it, like everything else she lays her hands on. She misconstrues what the details are about and thinks my son is getting a Focus ST, same as mine. She writes on the bottom telling him not to get one as her dad won't be able to get in the car because of the higher sides on the Recaro seats over standard flatter seats. My son would love to get a Fiesta ST, same Recaro seats, but she is dictating what car he is allowed to get, just so her dad can get in the car. Needless to say every once in a while I get my ear bent because he can't get in my car.
I think it's her parents that need to get her a car. She only drives when her parents need a lift. I know it sounds mean and selfish, but they had a car available when the mother in law's father died, which had been promised to my wife anyway, but they sold it. Meanwhile everyone else is expected to jump and make themselves plus car available when they need it.Just get your wife a Honda Jazz for her dad. She can drive him around thenoh and get yourself a Ford GT to make certain you never can

They have never driven and always relied on lifts. Worst example is, they have a static caravan about 60 miles away and no way of getting there unless they get a lift. Yet they want to get to it as often as possible in the summer. They may not be up to driving any more so perhaps it is better that they get lifts?
They sound a bit controlling of your mrs. She clearly doesn't like the idea of not doing what they want. She may just be afraid of how they'll react if she says no a bit more.
