WAMT....what annoyed me today!

My daughter is now telling me it takes 24 hours. If this is the case why did none of the 4 Vodafone people I spoke to tell me that.:mad::mad:
Someone I know had the same issue, well they didn't take actually their phone swimming :D
They swapped tariffs with Vodafone and was also told 2 hours.... 24 hours later and it was sorted.

Just about everything, yep it's been one crap day so far :banghead:

Vodafone annoyed me today. I'm guessing you have to be a Tw@t before they will employ you. Phone got drowned at the weekend. So I went this morning to vodafone shop to buy a new one with sim. Guy in shop sorts it out, tells me two hours to register. Well it didnt. Online help No1 told me he would sort it but then 'we lost our connection'. So i tried again with online help No2, who assured me my phone would be registered shortly. Five hours later still nothing. Online help No.3 tells me they can't do anything with sim cards bought from shop, despite me being asked for sim card number earlier by Online help No 2.

With GiffGaff you just register the new SIM to your account to replace the old one and 5 mins later the new SIM is working

Why the likes of Vodafone cant do the same who knows?

I did the same with EE when I swapped from a monthly to a sim only tarrif, it took less than 5 mins. So yes God only knows what the score is with VF

Vodafone told me 24 hours themselves.
25 minutes later all up and running :D

Wamt: my mri and blood scans didn't show up anything unusual. So back to the drawing board. Appointment is now being made to get a different opinion from a neurologist. Hmm more doctor visits.

Good news in some ways, JP! After my first MRI, they didn't let me go home for 2 weeks and I've got the scar to prove it!

I know. I remembered out chat from a while back. It was a relief. But then also a mystery that is yet to be resolved.

Thanks for the words.

Bloody NHS. So they were brilliant and quick getting my MRI scans and blood test. Now it is a whopping three months for an appointment with the Neurologist. Really?

The woman in the first class lounge that wants to let everyone know what she is talking about on the phone..... STFU already!!

I loved the one on the train a few months ago where she was giving away her user id and password to her IT helpdesk...

My left knee occasionally locks up to the point I can't straighten it, gets incredibly painful and visibly swollen, Blood tests show no inflammatory markers, doctor was convinced it was a torn ligament, MRI showed *nothing* other than the tissue of my knee is all swollen, but there's nothing wrong with the joint whatsoever, so no idea what the cause is, or what a long term fix is.

6 monthly steroid injections is the next port of call.. But I'd rather find the cause than treat the symptom.

Damn lorry drivers that can't reverse a few metres :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: and I'm not talking a huge artic here

My invisibility cloaking device is working rather too well on the 4x4

A couple of years ago I damaged my medial collateral ligament, symptoms were the same as you describe, I was on crutches for a while
as I couldn't walk on it, but even now I still have problems similar to those you describe, it does go quite quickly.
My problem is that I have a high pain tolerence so don't always realise when I done damage, think continuing to work]for 2 days with a smashed elbow before
going to hospital because I couldn't change gear in the car.
My physio lady told me I had to walk as normally as I could and avoid limping as this causes other problems

Mine comes and goes, feels like there's something out of place in my knee when it locks up. Lasts for a week, then goes away. But MRI showed no ligament damage at all, just wear and tear to the back of my kneecap, but nothing that should be causing any issues. MRI was really quick, saw the doctor on the tuesday and had the scan on the Saturday.

Remember the best way to eat it is slice by slice. :)

The useless idiots that are giffgaff. This shower still cannot bill correctly. You buy a 30 day allowance. It has a specific expiry. They expire it early and take minutes and allowance from the new one if you have one queued up. Like how is that even legal? If there is a specific expiry then it stops then and new one starts when advertised. Not several hours before! FFS.

I have sent a monitoring form into OFCOM. Not that it will make any difference.

WAMT: Yup you guess it, the windscreen for our Mercedes GL AMG is gone wrong again. Despite me getting in touch with the CEO, was quite useful as he was in my LinkedIn network as a second degree contact, assurances from national and regional managers, waiver of costs and all sorts. Yup they showed up 2 hours early today (lucky we were here before our 2hour slot), and he looked at the crack. Then the engineer said; "Yes it is broken, we need to order a new windscreen.". I still thought he was joking, and asked him twice whether he was having me on. But no he was serious, he did not have a windscreen for our car in the vehicle. The fourth visit, following escalations to the CEO and they send out a chat without a windscreen....

Luckily I had a direct number for a contact which I used on the Sunday, won't magically get a windscreen to me but still. It was an interesting conversation. Awaiting appointment number 5 now to get that windscreen replaced. May have to put a claim in now for mould on the leather dashboard and suede ceiling covering due to the condensation that is inside the vehicle.

grrr

People ignoring red lights. Not amber gamblers, people going through at full red, after cars started going through the green one. F***wits.

In London that is mainly black cabs and buses I find.

And cyclists.
Oh gosh yes, very true. I don't get that at all. It is so dangerous to themselves. Dressed all in black, barely any lights or the other extreme super blinding blinking lights, and a go pro camera. Yet go straight through red lights pedestrian crossings and all sorts. Bloody lunatics the lot of them.

Yip. I've written lots of advisories for clients deploying staff to South Africa. One of the things I always point out it that most drivers just treat speed limits and red lights as recommendations...:D

I had a similar thing a few years ago it turned out to be a bit of torn cartilage. The problem with my mri was when the knee was straight the flap fell in to its correct position so it didn't show as damaged. A quick op on a day ward and it was sorted.

WAMT: So I'm looking for possible replacements for our main family car. Found something of interest which will be launched soon as a suitable replacement; Maserati Levante, and I ask my buddy who runs a tuning shop whether they do anything for them. His response; "Yes it's a FIAT/VM engine I believe..."

Grrr somehow I don't want it anymore. Blimey how to put a damper on my joy. Then trying to convince me to go for an Audi A7 bitdi, hmm no thank you.

Just buy a Cayenne and have the lobotomy. Sorted ;)

Cayenne doesn't seat three comfortably in the back :( been there and rejected it before

Every time I see the S, the less I like it. Shame really since the idea quite appeals.

JP, have you tried an XF Sportbrake? The 2.2l Diesel goes reasonably well (and gives pretty good MPG if that's a priority), the 3l Diesel goes even better (and still gives over 30 MPG in normal [non London!] driving) while the V8 petrol one is said to go rather better (but not as far on a gallon!)

How about Tesla Model S? They're pretty massive. They do a 7 seat version.
I wouldn't mind the model S but my wife thinks its too business like as she be driving it daily...We are considering the Model X, I'm not sure about the looks

Not knowing that the Sea Kings' farewell tour was doing its fly past of CTCRM Lympstone this morning. I was on top of a hill the other side of the estuary and could have been there with a camera.

Great British customer service. In the current economic climate you'd think companies would be clamouring for business, but nope, it seems far too many are happily to completely ignore work being thrown at them.

People not repairing their pitch marks on the greens. Takes but a moment and prevents bumpy lawns!
