WAMT....what annoyed me today!

I've had several of the text messages - and that was also my thought - just how did RM get my phone number ?

All those texts have been deleted within seconds of their arrival after I had checked out the first one. Also - not expecting any parcels

I'm fed up watching the news about progress regarding vaccination, which is fine but seeing one person after another have a needle stuck in their arm ?

Have a look for Royal Mail Scams in OOF, Martyn. I suspect that your post was probably light hearted but just in case... ;)

Thanks Nod. Yes, it was light hearted - obvious scam - but I hadn't spotted the other thread at that point. (y)

Just had a email from our accounts department saying one of our sites hasn’t put enough stamps on our weekly post to HQ and they have had to pay on line.......

I shouldn't, but :ROFLMAO:

What's their address? I'd like to sell your bean counters some magic beans...

Fed up and annoyed today. I tried buying an item today, that I had been putting off for years. Tried ordering it online, to be told item is discontinued. I had the chance of buying it years ago, but backed out. Tried buying it used, to find prices have sky rocketed to a silly prices. Everyone selling now says," no longer available new, and now much sought after". Now listed as a collectors item.

I am keeping schtum.. Sorry, not saying what it was.

And no, it is not of an adult nature. :)

What annoyed me today, dog walkers who thought it was ok to let their two big dogs run at us barking and jump up on me while walking around our local nature reserve
Wouldn’t have minded if they had attempted to call them back or apologise

Having been literally floored by an off the lead full grown male mastiff last year I have nothing but contempt for people who couldn't be bothered to control their dogs. I find myself pitying the dogs, An out of control, completely untrained dog is not a happy one.

Same here, I used to have a large GSD that didn't like dogs running up to him, but people just couldn't stop their dogs
despite me telling them.
Of course when the inevitable fight happened it was all my fault, I gave up in the end , told my boy to lay down and stay, grabbed there dog and took it back to them got myself bitten a few times for that, but saved them trying to claim vets fees

yes the worst thing was their complete lack of interest in what their dogs were doing
Some people are frightened of dogs and one of these I think it was a Doberman was quite aggressive

Not being able to get an egg separator anywhere locally
I always seem to catch the yolk when I try to do the shell thing and my attempt with
an egg cup and saucer didn't go well either
I used to have 2 but seem to have put them in the usual safe place

Buy a new one, the other two will magically reappear to welcome their new friend :(.

Try a plastic medicine cup - the variety that often comes with a bottle of cough syrup - they can usually be used this way too

Amazon is your friend there — estimate how often they disappear (it may be at the equinoxes given the present problem, or phases of the moon) and setup a 3-monthly repeat order :).

It could be you will find my posts more annoying than the disappearances and that will take your mind of them :)

Have you got a small funnel? If you crack an egg into that, the white will fall through but the yolk will remain.

Amazon estimated delivery mid April to mid May, hopefully more shops will be open before then but still to long
Sounds good to me, but I don't find you annoying .................................... sorry to disappoint you :p

Oooh yes got a soft collapsible one, will give it a try later, thanks (y)

@Gremlin

No independent hardware stores near you? They are allowed to be open and mostly seem to have everything.

Yep and they don't have any in stock and not able to get any in atm :banghead:
Just tried Marc's suggestion, it works :clap:I'll look for one when things open up again

I use a hand - the white slides through my fingers, leaving the yolk. Never managed to crack an egg without needing to wash my hands afterwards anyway!

That only works if you can crack them one hand, which much to the surprise of my daughter, I can

We had an old kitchen aid for but wife lost it, so I made a replacement, old yoghurt tub with a slot 3mm x 40mm cut into side approx 15mm from bottom, crack egg into tub and white escapes through slot leaving yolk behind.

One can just crack the egg into cup and pour the white out, restraining the yolk with a fork or spoon. Maybe that leaves too much of the white behind for some purposes. I often do that for fried eggs as I like the white more cooked and the yolk not.

@Gremlin Perhaps the repeated disappearance of the egg separator is God's way of telling you to have an omelette or scrambled egg instead?! ;)

Needed it for my recipe for cheese straws, uses the yolk only and really yummy :)

Having brekkie now and trying to calm down. Put my paper bin out last night before I went to bed, ready for the bin men.

Came down this morning and needed to add some paper to it - could have waited till it had been emptied but I thought I might as well do it now.
Good job I did - some doggie walker had dropped his doggie poo bag into it and as the bin men ALWAYS lift the lid to check, this black plastic doggie poo bag would have been spotted and my bin would not have been emptied !!

That bag is now in my general waste/non-recycling bin !!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Just about sums up modern 'society'... you do your best to do the right thing, and there's nearly always some selfish t*sser who comes along and tries to turn it to sh*t for you!

That could apply to dog walker too :(

Having ballsed up and signed up for yet another free prime trial, I ordered a few things from the river, opting for the free next day service. On Wednesday. It might arrive today, apparently.

I’ve used it a lot in the past year and’next day’, if it’s confirmed on ordering, isnearly always correct and often stuff they say may take 2 or 3 days comes next day. I do hate Amazon but generally the next day thing is something they get right here :).

I don't have Amazon Prime as it wouldn't be cost effective for me, however, my neighbour and good friend does, so if I need anything in a hurry that I can't get elsewhere then I know he'll kindly order it for me. I don't buy much from Amazon these days but, when I do, I usually find they deliver it quicker than they say, sometimes next day, even with the standard 'non Prime' free over £20 delivery service.

Why do you hate amazon?
You can't hate it that much if you use it a lot...

I use it of necessity. Why do I hate it? Wait until they have driven everyone out of business and then you will see ... :).

Like Mr Badger, I don't (usually!) have prime and given this performance, I won't be paying for it. As you say, stuff that's due in 2-3 days often arrives next day anyway so when something that was supposed to be next day isn't, it proves that prime isn't worth having.
