WAMT....what annoyed me today!

The Mahoooosive spider that keeps running round my lounge taunting me :(

And the thing can run damn fast as well! :(

That sounds like a giant European house spider (Eratigena atrica). They're recorded as being the fastest true spider on the planet.
They're very reluctant to bite (and aren't dangerous even if they do), preferring to run like hell from any perceived threat (such as an unhappy Keith).
Chances are it's a male out looking for a date; they do that a lot this time of year. Spider 1.gif

Bloody idiot neighbour decided to look a small tree, and in the process left branches all over one side of my garden, left my bins knocked over, and worst and most annoyingly, wrecked a 40 year old Japanese Ghinko bonsai tree.
f***tards.

Ba*tids! :(

Luckily not caught up in it but WTF are the police doing on the M1. Closed at 7.30am and some 12 hours later southbound is still closed???? Ok, a suspicious package needs investigating but they have known its not an explosive for a while so why keep it shut??

An update from the police revealed there were no explosives found but that there "appears to be some form of chemical".

A spokesman added the substance was now being analysed.

Police have ruled out terrorism and have subsequently reopened the northbound carriageway.

but the southbound carriageway remains closed while police continue to deal with the incident.

Maybe they thought it was a 'dirty bomb'?

Well if it was ( just rubbish) thrown out of the window by a passing lorry driver, god knows what may have been in it ;)

Ordered some stuff from Amazon and it was due to be delivered by Amazon Logistics this evening.

Doorbell just went so I went to answer the door and no one was there, I saw the guy shutting his van door so ran up the path to stop him but he just drove off.

On my way back to my house I notice he had left my 3 packages by the side of my front door

Lets just say if I hadn't of heard him or spotted the parcels they wouldn't have stayed there for long

WAMT?
Next door has a very large tree, Hazel I think, but its never bore fruit, in the rear garden, at the rear, it covers the full width of their garden, and about 1/3 of the length.
Its about 25 feet tall and although there is only a little over hang, on my side, ( which I've never minded tbh as its "sheltering" the mews roof) shades quite an area of mine, especially now the sun is low in the sky..

It has just had a "serious" amount of pruning and looks far better for it

Why does that annoy you I hear you ask?
Well I shall tell you ...

The "Mulcher " they used to dispose of the branches is on their drive ( my attached neighbour) and the drives are separated by the width of the two houses. However they have managed to
cover my car and my van with detritus! My other neighbour, their almost new white BMW is no longer white, the will also be impressed!
Their oldest son is a great lad and great laugh, but he has a very short fuse, I just hope they are gone before he gets home ..

I did gesture to them while they were shredding, about the covered vehicles, but they just turned their backs and walked away!
As above, I hope they have gone, before he gets home...
Or perhaps not, it should be fun :D

I had one do that. Report it to amazon.

Big help when knives take on their own identity :(

Shopping

Don't get me wrong, I love shopping, it is the other people I don't like

Mrs Nod's little orange monster (the same LOM who is mine when she's being lovely...) has brought in a little playmate (mouse) and released it before completely losing interest. Humane traps now set, baited with fudge and hazelnuts. Here's hoping for an early capture.

Ha, I used to be an expert at that when I had cats. Confine it in one room (without the cat!) throw a tea towel over it, grab the lump and run for the door. The funniest one was the mouse in the kitchen. I knew it was there although I never saw it as one of the cats kept going on point. Back then I had a free standing cooker, so I used the cats to herd the mouse behind the cooker. I tipped the cooker, cats went in, mouse came out, I grabbed it and it was in the garden.

Way too much crap and furniture for that - and the ground floor is open plan. Gaps under all the doors as well so the poor little b****r could be anywhere! Wouldn't mind quite so much if she'd kill them but she just brings them in (a bit of natural selection - she's got 3 bells and a bright collar round her neck so they should hear and/or see her coming!) and lets them go. Could do without her prowling all night looking for it...

My worst Tiger on the Tiles used to wear 2 bells. When she shook her head she nearly deafened herself. It didn't stop her. She killed some of them.............and ate them under the dining table............... My parents' cat used to catch rabbits. I got woken up one night by this crunching noise outside my bedroom door.................
I really hope everyone's already had their dinner...................

Not yet! But I love kounelli stifado (rabbit stew with onions).

Lord Benjamin has never bought home a rodent; however he regularly brings home birds which he's managed to eviscerate without actually killing them.
Sparrows, starlings, a thrush, blackbirds, pigeons. He's got his eye on the magpies now.

I'm tired of wringing bird's necks whilst mopping up their innards.

Yup, she brings in birds too. Again, alive and unharmed (although they do leave evidence of being scared shirtless!) In her youth, she even managed to catch at least one squirrel along with plenty of rabbits that were as big as she is but she's knocking on a little now (13 in June) so has slowed down a bit. Doesn't stop the little cow-bag!

It not sure who I'm more annoyed with, my OH or Wickes.

OH bought some new shower door rollers from Wickes last week with the agreement that he could return them if they were the wrong ones. They were the wrong ones. He takes them back today and is refunded the price he paid LESS the VAT? He didn't question this merely accepted this was the case. I can't believe this is a refund policy. Who pockets the VAT?

I'm only talking about VAT on £11.50 but it's all the same if it had been a pricey item.

A 20% restocking fee by another name?

What annoyed me today was upadating my Mac to OSX 10.3 which ended up taking 45 minutes which was annoying but worse when the update resulted in several pieces of software, inluding my video edit software, not bloody working without also being updated!

Nightmare!

There. Fixed that for you.

 in my previous job I had many customers in the food manufacturing industry and though not involved in/on the ingredients side I learned that their customers normally set a budget for the product. Said product in effect would be the same as that made for competitors in the same factory but they each had their own (slightly) different recipe, some aspects of those recipe differences was down purely to using cheaper ingredients ;)

Amazon and their crappy delivery service .

I am having to send back yet another item to Amazon due to damage.

This will be item number 4 this month I have had to send back

The 7.30am cat fight outside my room .....

After running a temperature on the way to work, the car puked coolant all over the car park. :puke:
Gave it a dose of RadWeld and some more coolant, and had a look to see what's popped. The thermostat housing looks pretty soggy, so I'm guessing that's where it's coming from.
The annoying bit is that the thermostat housing was replaced just over two months ago. I shall be having words about that. :bat:

Cats don't fight in Greece - it's too darned hot! They wuz makin' new cats!!!
