However, what is your reason for swapping?
This.. in what way is your current camera limiting you?

Im not limited by the d7100 as such. However, i am always after better quality where possible. Now if i can get the d810 cheap and get better quality images then im in. Now if i have to get fx lenses to do that then i would of course have to factor in the cost. My 70-30 is apparently fx but everything else is dx. So i would be looking at a replacement for wide, macro and a walkaround lens .. if the 600mm is good to go on the d810 along with the two teleconverters then im very happy ... question would be should i sell the d7100 and dx lenses to help pay for the others .. comments welcome again please
Good question! In what sense better quality?
Good question!
If the OP doesn't feel that his current camera is limiting him in any way, then it's not immediately obvious what a different camera will bring to the party.
Very, very good point as I'm certainly no expert at all .. far from it .. but I'm learning more and more. What I want at the end of my "equipment buying" is a camera and lens setup that is as good as I can afford that will last me many years. I don't upgrade as soon as a new model of anything comes out and the only reason I'm actually looking is due to the fact that I can get the D810 cheap and from what I have read, it's a good step up from the D7100. Now I enjoy macro work and I enjoy my 600mm (hopefully upgraded to vr soon). I do use a general lens (18-200) for my holidays along with a wide angel for panoramas. Thats it really. If I can increase the quality of my camera/lens setup then it's down to me to learn as much as I can to improve ..
