Hi all,
I'm in a bit of a tricky situation as to not knowing what camera to pick, really.
The reason for upgrading is primarily for video, I don't have any problems with my 40D and I really do like it in every way for the photos it produces as well as the build quality etc.
But I'm looking to change to a Canon DSLR that has a good video mode as I'm looking to produce more videos and it's useful for projects at University also (Graphic Design student), it opens up quite a few more options for things.
I currently only own one lens, a Canon 50mm 1.8. I haven't really had too much need to get another one and funds have been limited too, but I will be looking to get a lens in the near future which factors as part of my decision.
I'd rather a lens that was a bit wider but was also quite quick as I do quite a bit of low light work.
As I believe there may be some Canon updates on the near horizon I'm also a bit wary of buying a new camera - I can wait for a month or two (Mid Oct) before upgrading but ideally I'd like to do it ASAP.
I can't decide between either picking up a brand new 650D which I've read quite good things about, or going for a second hand 7D/5D Mk2.
Part of what I like about my 40D currently is the size and build quality, I'm a bit :| about buying a new smaller camera as such and this makes me more keen on the 7D/5D Mk2 option.
I could stretch to a second hand 5D, I've seen some going around the £1000 mark which is OK but I'm a bit nervous about spending quite that much, ideally I'd like to spend roughly that on a camera + lens which is where the 7D becomes possibly interesting.
I'm really stuck and not sure what to do or what would be best for me, really.
If anyone could advise then that would be fantastic, thank you
