And of course you can stack two, or indeed several, Canon 2x extenders.Just be aware that you can't stack two Canon 1.4x converters although they can be stacked with third party offerings.

Hmmm, but you can't stack a 2x and 1.4x![]()
Yes you can. From memory it only works one way round though.Hmmm, but you can't stack a 2x and 1.4x![]()

If it's a 500mm lens and my calculations are right it's 8000mmWhat reach is that?![]()

I have a 1.4xII and 2xIII and can't get them to fit each other either way round.
two canon 1.4x II won't stack. you can stack a 1.4xII +2.0xII but the 1.4 has to connect to cam.A 2xMkII is the only extender that will fit onto the front of another extender (Canon MkII and MKIII's specifically).

It's an 800mm f/5.6 lens with four 2x extenders, so the end result was 12,800mm and f/91 wide open. What reach is that?![]()
As it happens, you're not correct...and not even close. How about f/64?My god thats alot of reach!! So if I'm correct that would be a 8000mm f/20?

It wouldn't have been f/20 even with a 500/4.....two stops per converter takes you 8 stops from f/4.yep as it turns out its a 800mm not a 500mm![]()
