TV adverts that get on your nerves.

I've just found 2 more
1) mini magnum, the 1960's called, they want their wall paper back, and as for that music :(
2) any Christmas ads in November

Novembermas.

Most won’t be subjected to this but a new draw has been launched in Scotland, ‘The Scotto’, the advert is truly dreadful and whoever passed this fit should be put down, I will never take part.

There's one at the moment that's doing my fruit in - dunno what they're advertising but it features someone repeatedly ringing a doorbell. Sends my dog loopy .

The family is, to say the least, weird ..almost .like Hillbillies
I've seen that, Hillbilles?
Maybe.
But actually I thought of Charlie and the chocolate factory family.

Yes, I did hover over the keyboard re hillbillies. They're odd but maybe not hillbillies.I'm not familiar with Charlie and the chocolate factory.I know of the film but not the characters.

As you'll know, a lot of research goes into adverts and I do wonder how they come up with stuff like this . If it was me deciding I'd just have a smiling family with a couple of small children ..one boy,one girl, out on a picnic on a lovely warm, sunny day by or in amongst a field of buttercups.

What do you think ? :)

They are mostly crap, they don't make them like they used too.

edit, the only one worthy of a mention, is the Twix advert with the bears.

I think my buttercup field is more like the old ads. Just a simple message. I edited my other post..re Charlie and the Chocolate Factory . I've Googled it and yes, they look more like them .

I edited my other post.
And I edited mine ;)

You Tube adverts are starting to annoy me! Even just for the 5-20 seconds they’re on, they’re annoying!

Also Sponsors spiel from You Tubers - I know it’s got to be done, but I’ve already watched the YT adverts, I don’t need to hear about me needing a Squarespace website or how great MPB are for another 30 seconds :ROFLMAO:

Two come to mind.....at the moment

1) the anti dandruff one with the secret agent slant.
2) the Poonami advert (granted we are not the demographic it is aimed at but really!)

Oh, all of the gambling adverts.....yes every single one of them! :(

Tesco sent me a link / sneak preview to their Christmas ad.
It wouldn't load .. gutted

Why do so many ads on British TV have to have American voiceovers? Annoying.

Better than the bad dubbing over French!

The Lenor Unstoppables scent booster one.

Firstly why do you need special scent in your wash when washing powders are scented?

But even more annoying is the scene where if you use these things your socks become so wonderful that a bloke in a shoe shop sniffs your feet! Bloody hell, not only is it unrealistic it is also creepy.

He wouldn't be sniffing my feet when they've been in wellies all morning!

There's one that's using an illegal form of transport (electric scooters). That in itself would stop me using the company concerned but the rest of the ad is crap too! Can't remember what company it is but if I saw the name, I'd remember it!

I just found another that made me chuckle,
"on the beach"
It seems the tag line is "booking genius"
But the narrators accent makes it sound like "Fooking genius" :D

All the stupid car adverts that show cars on deserted streets.. I can hardly drive down the ones where I live they are so jammed with cars.

How about "all of them"?
Generally yes, but these ones really get on my baps.
BTW does anyone else think the commercial breaks are getting longer?
It used to be just enough time to make a coffee, and now, it's long enough to make a sarnie too.

I agree they are getting longer. Whenever possible I record and skip the advert sections.

Not just me then. TBH I don't watch much tele, there isn't much that interests me on there, certainly not enough for me to bother to record anything.

Me neither, my annoyances are usually with radio, and b****r me that ******* vodafone voice over I swear gives me just a little bit of cancer every time I hear her voice.
I suppose. if people are talking about an ad, as nauseating as it is, it has still completed its mission.

don't listen to her

:puke:

I record programmes on Sky Q for when I have time to catch up.
You can tell it to skip forward to miss the ads and I have found that mostly they last around 4 or 5 minutes

For me gambling and lottery adverts where they try to encourage people to do it responsibly, personally think all gambling ads should be banned and lose all respect for people being paid to encourage others to participate in a destructive pastime!

Should point out I don’t gamble and these adverts do not encourage me to do so!

Those oh so virtuous pilgrim fathers were funded by gambling...

They use a fully white family so they had to find some minorities box to tick and ended up with a Boltonian voice over.

If it's the same advert, it's put us off using the lounge if that sort of brat is what we would find!

It is the same with cruise ships. One is finding it increasingly difficult to avoid the riff-raff.

The only cruise I did was an "educational cruise" around the med, many many years ago.
Millions of school kids to a few unrelated adults.
I was that riff raff :D
