Spelling and grammar doesn't bother me in general.
It annoys the hell out of me.
I can think of far worse examples which are used day in and day out.

I can't stand it when people put an apostrophe in 'photo's' where it doesn't belong. 'I love to take photo's of .....'. It bothers me even more when I see professional photographers use it. Spelling and grammar doesn't bother me in general but this gets to me.
I'm not sure - if you're referring to a photo (although the word is a bit U.S) and you're simply making it a plural then I agree that the word is photos. However, surely if you're using the word photo's as a contraction of photographs then it would be correct to use an apostrophe?

A contraction is where you join 2 words. Photo is an abbreviation, photos is plural therefore no apostrophe required.
Make some 'innocent' comments like 'hardcore processing! Could you post the original so I can see what a difference it makes?'

UK based Facebook users spelling words US style, color, favorite etc makes my blood boil and I become incandescent with rage![]()

Seeing the Union Flag referred to as the "Jack" when it's on land.![]()

Here's something which annoys me. On Facebook, there's a page for photographs of the area which people deem to be beautiful. There's loads of very lovely photographs on there but there's this one chap who posts the most over processed images I've ever seen, he really goes to town. The people on the page post lots of comments saying 'Ooh, how do you manage to capture such beautiful photographs - look at the colours, they're amazing.
That. That's what annoys me - that people think they're natural when they're quite the opposite and also that he doesn't correct them. He posts about five a day at the moment.
If that's not on, I've got a lot of complaints to write about car adverts (frequently exhibiting poor lane discipline) and any adverts featuring extreme sports...The fact we need to ban pretty much anything - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38073866 - Seriously???
It looks like the last sentence contradicts the rest. Or did I misunderstand something.Slow cyclists, normally on Boris bikes who fight their way to the front of every set of lights to be right at the front of the ASZ. Then set off slow drifting across the road so you have to wait for them to settle down before you can overtake and then come to the next set of lights they do it all over again. If the same set of cyclists are overtaking you at every stretch of road, what are you trying to prove by holding them up at every junction!

I suppose it could be argued that the "graph" has been omitted from photographs to contract it to photos so the apostrophe might be appropriate. I have to admit that I sometimes use one in 'phone.
I annoys me too, especially when they walk into me. Also frightens me when they cross the road the same way.Another chief irritant/annoyance for me is walking around town and everybody (under 35) being obsessed with and staring at their phones. It shouldn't annoy me but it does!
Apologies in advance for thisEven on a ship it is only the Union Jack when it is being flown from the small mast, called the Jackstaff, provided for that purpose on the bow of RN warships.

My earlier posting provided this link, which disputes that fact. As I said before the differing terms don't bother me, but seeing the Union Jack (or Flag) upside down irritates the hell out of me.
Embarrassingly enough I couldn't tell which way is up either. It's just another flag - I'm not sure I'd even look at it long enough to see whether it had a right & wrong way up.
Looking at your moniker, this is a maritime issue - flying the flag upside down is an indication the the ship is in distress. Still valid today if the ship is without any power. It's just another flag - I'm not sure I'd even look at it long enough to see whether it had a right & wrong way up.
A jack is a smaller version of the flag for when the full sized one would be too large. The flag makes the staff a Jackshaft, not the other way round.Apologies in advance for thisEven on a ship it is only the Union Jack when it is being flown from the small mast, called the Jackstaff, provided for that purpose on the bow of RN warships.
