Value for money, well engineered and able to take the 150-500 with ease I would also recommend the Redsnapper RS324 legs + RSH12 Ball head... (12/10Kg rating)
The only thing the Redsnapper doesn't have is the 'tiltable' centre column, it does come with an extra, shorter column that can be changed quickly.
The legs/head are extremely well engineered, the ball head is super smooth and uses Arca Swiss style plates, with very good tension adjustment and a silky smooth pan...
Having been using the entry level Benro and Manfrotto ball heads from colleagues, I was a bit shocked when I got the redsnapper, the legs go very high without having to extend the centre column, and so beefy. The head was so well engineered, I am amazed it's not more popular for the money..
(And it comes with a nice padded bag with comfortable strap).
I otherwise would have ended up with either the 190xProB or Giottos and no doubt would be happy.. In hindsight for lighter use I could have saved some money and gone with the Redsnapper RS283/RSH12 combo instead (£100 with 10% forum discount).
